The deck really doesn't look that good. Mostly because it doesn't really look like it can counter Gadgets or stand up to normal Monarchs.

- Spy, Decree, Don against Gadgets and Mobius over Zaborg against Gadgets.

- Monarchs are completely changed. No one plays Spicer Monarchs or Dekoichi Monarchs anymore because they will get raped by Gadgets. I have not lost to a monarch deck since I side double Controllers, double Swaps, double Bottomless Trap hole, and Double Asuras.

Controller and BTH handle Mobius. While Asura makes Zaborg dead, as well as containing obvious synergies with Swap.

Thestalos is actually the only Monarch that I am afraid of.

This deck is undefeated in matches so far: 4-0

btw, using Crush Card in YVD is lame. Don't do it. =\

I will now explain my card choices, obvious cards will not be explained:

Gravekeeper's Spy: Spy + Armor is the best opener. Only 2 cards in the game can make it a bad one and they are both restricted: Mysical Space Typhoon and Nobleman of Crossout.

MST needs Cyber Dragon to sack so that's a big situational.

(Used 3)

Mystic Tomato: Tomato serves two purposes (three, but the third isn't as important.)

1. Tomato => Sangan => Monarch
2. Tomato + Swap
3. Tomato => Sangan => Treeborn => Graceful.

I usually try to keep graceful in my hand if I see Tomato and it together.

Sangan: Yes, Sangan needs explanation. Sangan is not a staple. It should not be used in every deck, even in decks where it has abundant targets. In here, Sangan has uses with Swap, Monarchs, and Tomato.

For example, a deck which doesn't need Sangan is Fifth Gadget.

1 Mobius the Frost Monarch: Mobius is my attempt to counter Rogue decks, especially Macrocosmos. Against the average deck, it is craptacular. Although Mobius will win games, it is better to use the more stable Zaborg.

1 Magician of Faith: I cannot justify using this card. =[.

1 Asura Priest: Asura Priest is immune to spell removal, Exiled Force, and Zaborg. Thus, I use 1 random since that is all I need. Against heavy Exile-Zaborg decks like mine, I will side into Asura Swap.

2 Smashing Ground: Aggressive decks beat me. Also if I cannot remove a monarch in 2 turns, I will lose.

Torrential Tribute: I have aggressive decks. I tend to not run him, but in an era where Dekoichi Monarchs are not as good, using Widespread is not as good as a Torrential Tribute. This will be sided out frequently

Bottomless Trap Hole: Counters Random Breaker Sack. Counters Cyber Dragon against Spy. Counters random Mobius. Like TT, This will be sided out very frequently.

I'm still wondering why you spend time making and testing good decks if you don't plan on participating in big tournaments.

Why 3 Spy?

-Bishop- - February 9, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
Because I have nothing better to do and WoW costs money to play.

3 Spies is common sense when there is an abundance of double X-Forces, Zaborgs, and Soul Exchange. Running three is more of an insurance, that if you lose one, than the second will not be a dead draw. Surprisingly, Book of Moon tends to stack with Spy very often.

Drizzt Do'Urden - February 10, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
Okay.

Yeah WoW does cost money to get into. You talking about the TCG or online game? The TCG has kind of fallen out in my area. I haven't bought anything in a while because I'm preparing for SJC St. Louis.

-2 Don Zaloog Side
+2 Jujitsu Master

Don Zaloog is too situational.

Jujitsu counters Macro-Cosmos and Gadgets.
