Title: Uria OTK!
Description: first new deck in a year!

ProfessorBrimstone - October 9, 2006 01:13 PM (GMT)
I started to browse through all cards past CRV for a possible OTK deck. I eventually got to SOI, and I saw Uria, and a new OTK deck came to my head. What if I can pump it up to 8000 points with a mostly all trap deck?? I searched through my collection, and this is the best I came up with.

Monsters (8):
2 Uria, Lord of Searing Flames
2 Mystic Tomato
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Sangan
2 Exiled Force

Magic (8):
3 Reasoning
2 Enemy Controller
1 Monster Gate
1 Graceful Charity
1 Scapegoat

Trap (27):
3 Solemn Judgement
3 Embodiment of Apophis
3 Anti-Spell Fragrance
3 Nightmare Wheel
2 Rivalry of Warlords
3 Royal Decree
2 Curse of Darkness
1 Gravity Bind
2 Mask of Restrict
2 Final Attack Orders
1 COTH
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring of D.

Ok, there's 43 cards, but I dunno what to take out, lol. This is part of me being out of the game for so long. However, I need all the continuous traps to increase my chances of powering up Uria.

For the Monsters, of course you need Uria, but only 2. 3 will lead to too many bad draws. Tomato's there to thin the deck and to summon reaper or sangan from the deck. Exiled Force is there to destroy monsters while traps are stalling, plus it's not a bad monster to be summoned from reasoning's effect and from COTH.

For the Magic, Reasoning is there to, of course, dump traps into the graveyard. This is risky, because remember, once you get Uria, you have to keep going until you get a monster to summon. Sometimes, you can get both Urias by this way, lol! Enemy Controller is there for a brief defense, switch an opponent's monster to attack mode for Uria to strike, plus it works with Scapegoat and Embodiment of Apophis. Charity is needed in all decks; Scapegoat is there for defense and a target for Controller and Monster Gate, which is there as a 4th resoning (remember, I have Embodiments in here as more monsters)

Now for the traps. Very unique line-up, but it's necessary for the deck to work. COTH, Mirror Force, and Ring of D. are staples (COTH is a continuous trap too), and Solemn Judgement is negation against Jinzo, M/T destruction, and almost anything in general. Embodiment of Apophis may be as prone as a virgin on prom night, lol, but it's a continuous trap that turns into a much needed monster! Anti-Spell Fragrance hurts the opponent's speed by forcing him to set Magic cards and hurts you very little. Nightmare Wheel stalls a monster and burns opponent!
Royal Decree is VERY odd in this deck, but it's good to have out once Uria is out on the field, plus it's a much needed continuous trap!
Rivalry of Warlords eliminates an opponent's swarm of monsters and slows down the opponent from swarming you too (it hurts you too, but with 8 monsters, it hurts you very little)
Curse of Darkness burns for each magic played. It's also continuous trap and hurts you little with only 8 magics in deck
Gravity Bind stalls. Restricting this last month REALLY hurt this deck!
Mask of Restrict prevents the opponent from tribute summoning their Mobius, Jinzo, or any other top tribute monster.
Final Attack Orders serve as a continuous trap enemy controller by forcing all monsters to be summoned in attack mode.

So there you have it; the Uria OTK! It has 22 continuous traps, so obtaining the necessary power for Uria shouldn't be too difficult. Should be alright, but if there's been any new continuous traps created since SOI that may fit well in here, let me know. Oh, and this is perferred for casual play only :P. Enjoy!

Pretty impressive. You don't see many Uria decks out there, and this is by far the best I've seen. I'd hate to have to duel with that deck. XD

Now critique...hrmm...the only one I'd say to take out is Ring of Destruction, but that may be biased since I hate that card, lol. I'm not a fan of Solemn Judgement either. Seems a bit risky with its LP cut. But if you can manage, go for it. I'd just go with Bottomless Trap Hole or something of the sort.
