Title: Current build
Description: may help you out
ronintalken - July 4, 2006 03:08 AM (GMT)
hey. i've entered this in quite a few tournaments, and havent lost yet. i built it after reflecting on my experiences at nats and shonen jump atlanta. i just wanted to make something really solid, to take advantage of the bad draws a lot of my opponents COULD get.
that- and the solid side deck really pulls through.
Creatures: 23
2 chaos sorcerer
2 zaborg
3 cyber dragon
1 breaker
1 DD warrior lady
1 asura
1 tsukuyomi
1 sangan
1 treeborn
2 magician of faith
2 mystic tomato
3 spirit reaper
3 dekoichi
Spells: 11
1 graceful
1 confiscation
1 heavy storm
1 MST
1 snatch
1 creature swap
1 premature
1 goats
1 book of moon
2 nobleman of crossout
Traps: 6
1 mirror force
1 torrential
1 call
1 return from the different dimension
2 sakuretsu
Sidedeck: 15
2 mobius
3 giant orc
2 deck devestation virus
2 kuriboh
1 cyber stein
1 limiter removal
1 nobleman of extermination
3 poison of the old man
thats that. its been winning. i really wanted to play tomato control after getting bad hands with my return based deck at shonen atlanta and nats. i hate getting bad luck at the worst possible time. this should cut back on it.
if i was going to make any change- i would be to add smashing ground. but thats about it. it's fairly solid. ^_^

Since you're so good, make a deck that doesn't have RFtDD or Chaos Sorcerer.
That's what the game needs.
But eh. Nice deck.
ronintalken - July 4, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
aw- 1 rftdd... how overkill eh?
i've been running it since the format started. i'm not gonna stop cause some newbs r netdecking it, lol.
and whining about chaos has continued since IOC came out.
why can't we just accept the fact that cards that immediatly give us +1 are good?

Mmmmm....more cookies.
I can't wait until the next ban list. Sorcerer had better get banned.
Nice deck. I would like to see a Newdoria instead of a 3rd Reaper.
Also, isn't DDV restricted to 2?

Why am I just supposed to except that the meta of the game sucks majorly right now?
ronintalken - July 5, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
- yes it is limited to 2. thats why i side 2.
- not really cookies. i'm playing tomato control. i mean... most people are just running beats. at least i'm having fun with tomatos and creature swap.
- yeppers peppers. the meta sucks. don't think that i haven't tested everything else for one minute. cause i have. i've even created a new OTK deck never released, and i'm talking to Jason on metagame about giving it a feature. i'm running this because it proved to be the best. that's yugioh. there will always be cards that give you easier card advantage than others. and i will always run those. sure, the metagame sucks, but if you don't want to run the decks not similar to others being run, you have two options:
1. don't play competetively
2. quit. play Magic the Gathering- it has a color system.
lol. i'm not running 3 chaos, and i'm not running 3 returns. i cut back, because i don't like lucksack cards.
i'm running 2 chaos, because it is simply the #1 card in the format.
+1 immediatly
i'm running 1 return, because i wanted to run 2 chaos, and 3 dekoichi. it's just synergy.
frankly, this deck is fairly different from what you normally see. it doesnt rely on return at all. it's one of those rare decks this format that doesnt rely on lucksacking and getting a good hand. it gains card advantage, and takes advantage of the fact that all your cards are too situational. (IE- too many tributes, returns, etc)

I thought I saw 3 DDV....
I still believe it is CC. You have a 2-3 card difference in your deck and what everyone else is running and that is CC.
I understand it works. I run whatever works for me as well.
Loki_Card_Hunter - July 5, 2006 06:41 AM (GMT)
maybe try
- 1 sprit reaper
+ 1 creature swap
Cyber Twin Dragon - July 5, 2006 05:16 PM (GMT)
maybe take out one Zaborg for something else
ronintalken - July 5, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
why take out a zaborg? then i couldnt run treeborn frog. and he has synergy with the creature swap as well.
and- i indeed did play 2 creature swaps. its REALLY cool. but i tend to draw really bad hands, that's why i'm playing tomato control right now, lol.
and- i guess it's sorta cookie cutter- cause it's running nothing but good cards, lol. but- in all honesty, most people DONT run tomato control. and 3 reapers has been a fairly odd choice. i dunno- i guess i'm just crazy, but i was thinking this was at least 10 cards different from most of the opponents i play. especially considering only 2 chaos and 1 return. most people this format rely on the lucksacking a lot more, lolz.

What happened to "ZOMG, reaper sucks in this format?"

Please. Most of Denver ran a similar deck, and this is just a maindecked Cyber Stein and Last Will away from Canada.
Perovic had the best deck in terms of good oppeners. Ghanean had the worst. Guess who won that game?
And take out Treeborn unless you plan to double-synergize Merchant with Chaos and add in more tributes. Otherwise, it's just a blocker.
