This thread is mainly because I am very annoyed right now and need to vent. I'm sure one day you shall feel the same so this is the rant thread where you can explode to your hearts content.



My rant for the day is Final Fantasy XI, the mmorpg wonder.

Recently I have re-discovered my passion for Final Fantasy games. I am a very big gaming fan especially in the RPG section. I am particularly interested in MMORPGs in themselves. I play Ragnarok Online, FlyFF, PristonTale etc. Anyway! It has come to the point where myself as a gamer has to ... evolve somewhat. I am taking the next step: pay to play. I'm a cheap skate, hate to pay but for Final Fantasy? Fair play.

Yesterday evening I dug it up from the attic, dusted it off, popped it in, installed it and ready to go. Next morning (ie today) I register and am ready to enter Final Fantasy. Oooh updates, no problem...wait...what?...error?....why?....retry..... another error?....retry.... ANOTHER ERROR?! RETRY!!.....
I am now retrying for the fourth time. So far I've met two stages in updating. One, the main game, two the actual nitty gritty detaily bits maybe expansion pack updates, whatever.

Why is it not patching?! It's connected to the friggin internet, it's fine! And yet it'll get to various and random points in the updating stage where it just comes up with an error message. There is nout wrong with the PC or the connection, it's the pissing game. And I am fuming. The second stage of updating takes a rough time of 3 hours. The first stage took an hour but now is able to pass through within 35 mins or so. So 3 and a half hours I have to sit and wait for this thing to patch. 3 AND A HALF HOURS! It's ridiculous! Just to play a game!!
I hate this... someone help me...i'm losing it....

You know....I have an Idea. Start installing it, then walk away. Go make a sandwich or something ( Sandwiches are good too)

It keeps your mind off of the game and on the sandwich...or whatever you choose.

dial up does indeed suck! luckily for me, not a problem but i share your pain as i used to be on dial up.

I restarted my comp, left it for a while and now it's working SO my rant for today is...


I CAN'T STAND WORK! extra hours, long boring shifts, irritating managers. why can't people be nicer? *fumes*
