Description: tell me an answer I'm begging you!
ffrrt - April 12, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
my mom says i'm too old for yugioh and I should get rid of my cards and not buy any packs any more so what should I do ask her to keep them so I can duel my friends when I go over there or should I get rid of them because my mom will makeme do it if she is in a bad mood and whenever she wants to ( I should beg her to keep them shouldn't I?)
Topdecker - April 12, 2006 07:04 PM (GMT)
first of all how old are you?
and secondly tell her that older people play YGO to teens, 20 yr olds, and even old men.
Tyrin Claw - April 12, 2006 11:25 PM (GMT)
There were 40-year-olds who played at the local tournament I used to go to. :P
Topdecker - April 12, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
hey at a local tourney I went to, there was a 60 yr old dude playin pokemon!
Tyrin Claw - April 12, 2006 11:31 PM (GMT)
And of course, it's the older people who do better. Has there been a single Top 8-er who wasn't a teenager or older? (Not that I know of.)
Topdecker - April 12, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
^ actually there was this short red haired kid (about 8-9 yrs old) who made top 8 at a regionals!
Tyrin Claw - April 12, 2006 11:42 PM (GMT)
There's always exceptions. :P
Topdecker - April 12, 2006 11:46 PM (GMT)
Yea big things come in small packages I got beat by that kid, he was tough!

Meh, ...14 yeah I know I'm kinda young.
FINAL Exodia - April 13, 2006 12:42 AM (GMT)
......I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the guy that made this thread.
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
^ oh he's 12, theres a message board game where you figure out what the person's age above you is. :)
ffrrt - April 13, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
I am 12 and it sucks that she is doing this to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FINAL Exodia - April 13, 2006 09:49 PM (GMT)
12...hmm, you're ALMOST there, maybe another year.
And please, don't bring up those adults that play card games. I would bet you any amount of money that over 90% of them are still virgins, and of the 10% that aren't, about half have some kind of STD from buying a hooker.
ffrrt - April 13, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
actually I could bring it up because my friend at my old school has a dad and a step mom that are about in the early 40's that play the game tell that in her face huh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 10:14 PM (GMT)
But those old guys always got the good cards cause they have jobs and they buy most of their cards on EBAY

And thus they live in their parent's basement with 18 cats and anime costumes for when conventions roll around.
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
Also, don't forget the prostitutes they order every other day while their parents are out for dinner.
Tyrin Claw - April 13, 2006 10:56 PM (GMT)
Actually, both of the people at the local tournament here are married with children. (I think it was their children that got them into it, heh.)
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 10:58 PM (GMT)
Are you sure it was their children?...hhhmmmmm.............
or
Are you sure it was their children who got them into YGO?, It could be the other way around you know.
Anyway, those kinds of people are wasting their time and money where they should pay their bills instead.
Tyrin Claw - April 13, 2006 11:01 PM (GMT)
I wasn't around, so I have to go by what they've told me. :P
It's not a waste of time as long as they're having fun, I'd say. In that context, you could argue that anything that doesn't pay the bills is a waste--going to sporting events, for example.
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 11:03 PM (GMT)
^ Good Point, hmmmmm..................
Anyway, I'm pretty sure nobody wants their parents to play YGO with them its SO embarrassing, but I see it all the time.
And for the bills, parents are blowing up wads of cash on a piece of cardboard, WTF!? I have to trade to get my cards.
Tyrin Claw - April 13, 2006 11:10 PM (GMT)
XD Well, one of them, his kids don't come to tournaments...the other doesn't come to tournaments anymore, but he and his son seemed to get along okay there.
They have to go into circulation somehow...and I don't see it as much worse than kids buying them, although adults are supposed to be more responsible with their money. I'd say, if they want to buy them, let them...they're not doing any harm, at least. :P
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 11:14 PM (GMT)
Have you ever seen a mother and a daughter play YGO cards together? Its SO weird, and creepy! :barf
Tyrin Claw - April 13, 2006 11:15 PM (GMT)
Nope, never seen any adult women playing actually... Occasionally girlfriends of the tournament players, but rarely more than once.
EDIT: I take that back, there was a mother and son for a few weeks.
Topdecker - April 13, 2006 11:17 PM (GMT)
NO, I mean a Mother and a Daughter actually play YGO together!
They were playing together and they sucked at it too.
But you mostly see a lot of old couples playing YGO, at least where I go to.
Tyrin Claw - April 14, 2006 05:13 PM (GMT)
I know what you meant. I was elaborating on a simple no. :P
ffrrt - April 14, 2006 07:05 PM (GMT)
remember when I told you about my friends parents playing yugioh his whole family pkays it can you believe that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!( my friend was the person who got his family into it though)
Topdecker - April 14, 2006 07:09 PM (GMT)
^ Yea I can believe that
Its not very strange if a whole family plays YGO, because you see it all the time, especially at Regionals. :P
ffrrt - April 14, 2006 09:20 PM (GMT)
I just hope my mom doesn't change her mind and keep them for herself and try to learn by herself talk about embarrasing times 1,000,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
