Title: Duel Disks
Newzfoxjr - March 19, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
Version 1 (August 2004)

Version 2 (November 2004)

Version 3 (Latest - August 2005)

Has anyone here bought any of them? If so, what is your opinion on them?
I bought the first one when it came out, it sucked, the two wings on seperate sides thing is completely moronic. I had to stuff tissue in the longer side to stop it from wiggling all the time.
Topdecker - March 19, 2006 04:18 AM (GMT)
i had the first one until i sold it to a kid for 5 bucks. That thing kept putting bents and dents on my cards.
osirisX - March 19, 2006 05:21 AM (GMT)
I've bought none of them because they are stupid. And I'm guessing there still is no Fusion and Side Deck areas.
Touzokuou Bakura - March 19, 2006 01:30 PM (GMT)
The last one looks the best, even though I don't own a single one >_>
FINAL Exodia - March 19, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
If I saw someone walking around wearing one of those, I would laugh my ass off.
Topdecker - March 19, 2006 02:45 PM (GMT)
you should of seen how many little kids and noobs were wearing those at a tourney i was at.
Tyrin Claw - March 19, 2006 05:09 PM (GMT)
Nope, never have, never will.
Newzfoxjr - March 19, 2006 05:19 PM (GMT)
They are talking about ones that hook up to a TV or something, and have graphics. But eh, probably not true.
Sepulcher - April 17, 2006 01:13 AM (GMT)
until those things do that or project actual virtual images is the only time i will buy one
CHAOS_CREATOR11 - April 17, 2006 01:41 PM (GMT)
the cards cant fit into the ones that are out now if they have sleeves on. just like topdecker said. my cusin (9) has one and i tried it once and bent up half of my deck (luckily it was a play deck) if they come out with ones that actually project like in the show then i may think of getting one
Darth Vader - April 17, 2006 04:11 PM (GMT)
There actually is a person at the tournement who uses those... its not that i don't like playing against him, its just that the duels take so long... every time he needs to shuffle he has to take his deck out.
yatalocker - April 17, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
I remember I went to a Toys "R" Us thing and dueled someone using it. Each new Duel Disk is like $30! They are all basically the same thing, but I'm sure some kid has 3 of thoes and paid $90 for them.
Paton Yewbeam - April 17, 2006 10:53 PM (GMT)
I haven't OWNED one, but I've used the top two versions. Didn't know about the third one. It didn't do anything to my cards. No bends or anything. But the first version (Battle City one), it broke. My friend broke it by locking/releasing it too many times.
ffrrt - April 17, 2006 10:59 PM (GMT)
I have the second one but I never use it because it makes a lot of dents on my rare cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(I will sell it soon though)
Coffin - May 26, 2006 04:58 PM (GMT)
i say they're a waste of blingy cuz they're just plastic blades with a calculator and a LED light in 'em. but as many ppl said b4, wen they really project images and stuff like on tv, i'll b one of the 1st in line for one.
also, just for kix, they should se a duel launcher thing (think back to Kaiba vs Joey and they threw a frisbee-like object to preject images) or better yet, a stadium with the same idea as Duelist Kingdom (Pegasus saga)
D.D.WARRIOR - May 30, 2006 02:56 AM (GMT)
look, they would never come out with one with a projector cuz their is no way it would no what card it is and a little piece of plastic wouldnt be able th hold all the info of every card.....but with todays technology, they probably cound do it, of course it would be alot of money
Sepulcher - May 30, 2006 03:04 AM (GMT)
well i was thinking they could just make it connect to the laptop
Necromancer333 - May 31, 2006 07:04 PM (GMT)
I think they could have done better. For the 30+ bucks you spend on it it should have a deep enough grave and allow card sleeves. Shame konami Shame.
Coffin - June 1, 2006 12:00 PM (GMT)
well the disks COULD hold the info of every card is it was in the form of a microchip lol. like if u've ever seen megamna, u'll kno that the upgrades and weapons are in the form of a chip and you plug it in and w/e. same deal here except each chip has information of a monster. the chip would be 2 inches long and 1 inch wide.monsters, spells and traps would be identified the same way as the cards, yellow for normal, oragne for effect, blue for ritual etc. i think they should be able to be attached to a alptop or something and have its own program. i have a pic but it duznt load on this page:(.

They're not trying to make it where you can actually duel with it, they don't really care. They're just trying to make it where you can look like the characters on T.V. And let your imagination run wild, they obviously just want the kids to be like, "Oh wow that's so cool! I want one." And then they spend a waste of money for their imagination, they're toys. They're not made for dueling. So there's no point in having one unless you're a little kid.
ffrrt - June 9, 2006 02:36 PM (GMT)
yeah I mean really they are for little kids
Bloody Lovin' - June 9, 2006 04:26 PM (GMT)
If they wanted more people to buy one, they'd do something like Newz was sayin, they'd make it where you could hook it up to the T.V...So it might be convenient for all ages who are into Yu-Gi-Oh! Because it'd be like a video game system.

I just saw this last saturday is was so funny to older people walk in to the card shop 2 hours before the tournament. One with the first one and the other the second one it was so funny they had them duct taped to there arms. Even funner they started chalanging people to a duel and talking about Blue Eyes White dragon only having 3 actull printed coppies. :omg!: :omg!: :omg!: :omg!: :omg!:

Sounds like something a friend of mine would do.....no, not because we are nerds or anything. I mean we would do it because we can. I mean my friend grew his hair beyond shoulder length because someone said "I wonder what you would look like with long hair?" and is snowballed from there.
But seriously folks, do you think it would be that easy to make it a videogame system. I dont think so. When you get down to it, unless the disk has sensors to see what card you hand goes to. And unless the cards would be on the TV, which wouldn't be fun at all, the disk would have to include some form of scanner that would scan the ID code in the corner....it would sell for alot. Give it time though, and it would be cheaper though....about 15-20 years?
Loki_Card_Hunter - June 28, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)
but the funny thing was that they were completely serious
Hiei, Enraged Demon - June 28, 2006 02:13 PM (GMT)
Wow. Thats really pathetic.
Really pathetic.
Loki_Card_Hunter - June 28, 2006 02:49 PM (GMT)
really they were so pathetic it was so funny this is what one of them said "I will win because i beleive in the hart of the cards." then he lost to a 13 year old running a earth agro deck :omg!: :omg!:
Necromancer333 - June 29, 2006 11:22 PM (GMT)
So sad. The same thing happened to me and a friend. cept we tag dueled. These two guys looked like they were about 40. Both of them ran a beatdown. Needless to say they left the shop very fast.
Loki_Card_Hunter - July 5, 2006 06:26 AM (GMT)
they kept saying i gess the hart of the cards isnt with me to day
