If you don't want to have to read all this and you already have and know how to use mIRC, the room is #Animelookout on irc.chatster.org

---------------------------------------------------

How to Connect to our chats using Mirc.

Firstly, What is IRC? Its a way to "chat" with all sorts of people.

Quick Lesson #1: IRC is called Internet Relay Chat, Our Java Chat Connects to that but the java chat is very limited.

Quick Lesson #2: The MOST Common way people connect to IRC is though a program called MIRC.

Here is a Quick Lesson on how to connect to our chats using MIRC

Step 1: Download MIRC. Its a very popular program. Its FREE dont worry.

Step 2: Install MIRC. ( http://www.mirc.com )

Step 3: Start Mirc....now you'll get a window

Click on that Add Button.... to bring up the "Add Server" Option...put in the following info

Description : Chatster/Animelookout
IRC Server: irc.chatster.org
Ports(s): 6667

Leave the rest blank...now press ADD

Step 4: Connecting and Joining

See that little Lighting Bolt Icon? Make sure you select the Chatster/ Animelookout and then click on the lighting bolt icon...it SHOULD connect to irc.chatster.org

When its all done doing all the checks it does...type

/Join #AnimeLookout

Anything with a # in front of it is a chat room.

Yay! Now you can chat! Go you!

Feel free to ask any mIRC questions here.

Question >>

I see no Lightning Bolt..

I see this, once I do the first few steps.

Then when I hit that little Sun thing, since I assumed that's what you meant, I got this.

And when I hit it again, I get the first place again. It just goes back and forth >>

Lightning bolt^

If that window you showed first pops up, just click connect to server, not the sun thingy.

Firstly:

For all people new to mIRC DO NOT put in your real name and email adress if you do not want people to see it as this information will come up when someone /whois's you.

Try just typing "/server irc.chatster.org 6667" (the stuff inside the quotes) in the status window. take a screenshot of what it says and sendy to me or post it here.

You can get me on AIM at KualonoEmpire if you have other questions.

I think it may be one of chatsters blocky thingymajigs... so... have to find another way in or see whats going on...

Note: I have seen you online though ^_^ seems you got in.... so if you have just ignore what i said. :)

I haven't been on the chat for this site, ever.

I use Java to get to the YGOO one.

Is it possibly you have a firewall turned on?. That will block mIRC and not allow you to connect. So i say check your firewall settings, i dont know exactly what to change offhand though. All i can say is.. try turning your firewall off, and then try connecting. If you can connect thats good, if not oh well. ** dont forget to reset your firewall to on no matter what**

From YGOO Java chat however, just type /join #AnimeLookout

this will bring up the AL chat. Though you cannot be in both YGOO and AL at the same time so you will have to pick.

To get back to the YGOO chat simply type /join #yugiohonline

and your back in ygoo chat ^_^

For Java Users you can connect through Chatster.orgs chat at

www.chatster.org

If you need instructions... i guess ask.. im not writing them out....
