Title: Pokemon TCG
Description: Kids game? Sure. So is Yu-Gi-Oh! :P

Yeah, it is a kids game...or is it? What can I say, Pikachu is so derned cute...I mean...err....

Seriously, the game is quite fun. There is no worrys about priortiy, your opponent doing stuff during your turn. It's allmost like chess, setting your peices as you need them, and moving on, except you use cute little monsters with enough destructive force to level a city. The new set came out, Unseen Forces, which has a plethora of very powerful Pokemon, including Steelix ex (dubbed "The Tank"), which has 150 HP at a Stage 1 Pokemon, can't be poisoned, can do 70 damage with only 3 Energy(one Metal, 2 Colorless), but does 10 to him, and for 4 energy (2 colorless, 2 Fighting) he can do 100 damage on any Pokemon, by discarding two Fighting energy. Not too bad in my opinion, though there are other great ones too, just Steelix is the one I'm going to do a deck around, along with impove my Ludicargo deck.

So if you actually do play the game, let me know. :P

I didn't think many people play this game anymore. The cards have just grown soooo much powerful since the game was HUGE back between 98-2002. There's no way the trainers of now could catch up to the dominant ones of old (professor oak, computer search), but it seems like they make the pokemon themselves much stronger. I would love to play again, but it's the lack of gaiming of my area and not knowing anyone that plays the game that's keeping me for making a comeback at this game. This is my 2nd favorite card game (yes, I like it more than Yu-gi-oh (here comes the hate mail, lol)), and I hope it can stay for awhile longer.

They still have worlds, nationals and state championships, plus have a modified and unlimited tournamanets (meaning modified is the last 5 sets, and unlimited is well..all sets..so think of type 1 and type 2 of Magic), and just this week, my store had a pokemon tournament with 18 people in it! people still play it, but like you James, they think no one else plays it, or afraid to admit that they still play it, but after admiting i play it, alot of other people saw me and started back up, and so we got tournaments going.

Also, I'm so frickin' behind in the game that I will not be able to catch up with the newer cards!! However, Next time I go to a card shop, I'll probably buy a newer starter deck and see how the new cards look like (I was going to do that with the cousin that got me into the pokemon card game AND yu-gi-oh game in the 1st place, but we never got together for the summer). I'm very curious.

Well, here is a listing of most of the new cards, plus pictures. So far this is one of the best sets to date.

Well, as an FYI, I was recently selected to do COTD on Pojo for their Pokemon side, so go check it out. ^^;

I don't really care for Pokemon but the video games are constructed well. I'm really just posting because:

Tom: you do pretty good reviews on the pojo.com site! Nice to know we have a "mini-online-celebrity" on our forum, lol.

The Pokemon TCG is so broken! Professor Cozmo's Discovery? I mean, come on! It makes Pot of Greed look like a n00b card! And if you get tails, you draw 3! And it's not limited! Professor Oak makes you drop your hand and draw 7! WTF? What if your hand is empty? That's +7 advantage! The new 2 energy per card energy cards are broken too!

Coffin - August 1, 2006 11:41 PM (GMT)
it's not broken...its just a little more complex......EXAMPLES!

Charizard was and still is what Blue Eyes was back in the day: everyone wanted one n only a few got one. now, go on ebay u can find hundreds from multiple sets!

professor oak lets u draw 7 cards...whoopdee do, so wat? in yugioh, u can draw 7 cards, u just need more cards to do it....with pokemon tho, u dont have to discard at the end of ur turn.

also, double energies provide more use than harm especially since most monsters are duble elements like magneton which is a electric/metal type.

the only problem i have with pokemon is that the show has been around for almost 11 years, it STILL has new episodes, it STILL has new games comming out and it STILL has new cards/sets/pokemon! the good thing, though, is that even if u've fallen behind *ahem brimstone* u can pick up on gold/silver or crystal and only have to learn like 75 new pokemon...like i said, i know 99% of Americanized pokemon and i challenge anyone who dares to disagree! lol
