Title: Catch me up please?
ProfessorBrimstone - August 22, 2005 01:27 PM (GMT)
I have been out of the game all summer!! I live in a remote area, so I cannot play the game when I'm home, so I'm way behind! What has happened in yu-gi-oh for the last 3 months (since about May 29)?? What news cards were relased; what sneak peak cards are available; any rule changes; stuff like that. I need to catch up.

Let's see...
Dark Beginning 2 was released, containing "Cyber-Stein", "Needle Worm", "Morphing Jar", and all of the new Toons.
The Lost Millennium was released. (Sneak Peek promo: "Amazoness Chain-Master".)
Cybernetic Revolution was released. (Sneak Peek promo: "Embodiment of Aphopis".)
A new Shonen Jump Championship promo was released, "Des Volstgalph".
Not sure about rule changes, I lose track of when they came out.

When a monster is forced facedown (With book of Moon, or Tsuk) You can flip it back up if it wasnt summoned that turn, or already had its position changed that turn.

I just figured that one out. I knew the lost millinum was out, but 2 more sets in 3 months???? GOODNESS, slow down KONAMI!! Sometimes, I wish they would release sets as frequent as their video games: 1 to 2 years at a time! Ok, maybe not that long, but you do get my point.

you are allowed a manual switch on a monster if:
1. The Monster was not summoned on the same turn.
2. No Attack was declared with that monster
3. A manual switch was not already performed on the monster (1 Switch per turn)

Not all that much more has happened other than what has been said. It doesn't seem like any other deck type has really come out as of yet.
Of course mill decks are doing very well and Last Turn has always been iffy but I play against a Horus Deck at the tournament (with the EOTB in it) and it is good I guess. There is really not much else.
ProfessorBrimstone - August 24, 2005 01:21 PM (GMT)
Mill decks doing well?????? wait wait wait, did a new card come out or something that made them powerful?? I've been wanting to make one for quite some time, but never had the cards to do it.
Also, after reading the new rule, is Tsukoyomi being used more often?
Tyrin Claw - August 24, 2005 05:35 PM (GMT)
"Tsukuyomi" is being badly abused, which is why it's going to be Limited in October...among other things...

We've all pretty much had the ability to make a Mill deck (usually it turns out to be a OTK too), but someone pioneered the deck, and suddenly it became popular. Heck, No.2 in Worlds ran a Mill deck.
As for Tsukiyomi, it does stand for reason to have her restricted to one, but the list Bishop posted is the possible Japanese list, and according to the very letter from Kevin you posted Tyrin, our list could be quite different, though really, they would be smart to make Tsuki only one. If they don't, then I would have to questions UDE's sanity.

i still don't get the mill deck! I don't think one with needle worm or robbin' zombie would do the job. I can see the drawing by morphing jar and cyber jar with book of moon and taiyou (I've tested that in my last turn deck many months before, quite fun). That draws quite fast! however, do you just do this enough to win or is there like a finishing blow done to your opponent?
Question: Why did they add the that new rule back in June about the battle position changes?????
Tom - August 24, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
No real finishing blow to the deck. Just keep going until your opponent runs out of cards, usually by using Card destruction while they have a bajillion cards in hand, and you only have a few (usually by dumping spell cards because of Spell Reproduction)

Tom: It will be true for Asia, at least. :P
They changed the rule because it didn't make sense. You're allowed one manual position change per turn, unless one or more of the three exceptions apply, and as many position changes by effects as you want. So why should using an effect position change take up your manual position change if you can do as many effect changes as possible?
In actuality they changed the rule back to its original context...since when the game was newer you could do what you can do now.
