You can tell one person does the voices of 2 characters in the english version, but you see the Japanese voice actors and not one of them do 2 voices.

Talk about low budgeting Yu-Gi-Oh! what cheap rip offs, with horrible voice actors... The English version *should* die. There is nothing good about it...

Newzfoxjr - June 30, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
Yeah but i like the american version just fine, i just pay attention to the story line

Skellington - June 30, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
Meh, the show needs help. O_O

Yami Marik - July 1, 2004 08:58 PM (GMT)
I think the show is fine.

I think the show is fine.

You really got to compare them...Ask newzfoxjr...anyways.

Your character Yami Marik has a horrible voice - Dark Malik has a better voice and endures more pain in his trials threw Mai, Jounouchi and Dark Yugi!

Watch and learn!

Yami Marik - July 7, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Dark Malik can I hear this dudes voice?

Dark Malik - July 8, 2004 07:08 PM (GMT)
pm me and we will see

iloveatem - June 19, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
I wish Cartoon Network was in charge of the english YGO anime. if you have ever watched CN animes, they keep to the storyline very nicely

Ichigo - June 20, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
Uhh... Cartoon Network doesn't translate anime... They just air them...

iloveatem - June 20, 2005 05:24 AM (GMT)
OOOO, then who translates theirs? I know the ones they take from 4kids are the same crappy ones, but some animes are translated from someone else....I forgot who though

Ichigo - June 20, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
Depends on the Anime. Alot of them are traslated by Funimation though...

iloveatem - June 21, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
Oh, yes, funimation!! I love them, they do the Full Metal Alchemist eps, and they translate them very well too.

Ichigo - June 21, 2005 04:38 AM (GMT)
Yeah. Funimation is cool. Also there's a company called ShoPro that does some of the translations too. I offically hate ShoPro because they're translating Naruto which is one of my favorite animes and they are going to ruin it.

(BTW, what does Ryou's shirt say on your signature? (Ryou=Bakura))

>_>

Same with the Chinese voice actors here. The same person does like 3 characters, and their voice doesn't go along with the characters at all. (well, Yami Bakura's was ok, but the Taiwanese accent is really annoying me) I love the Japanese version of Yami Bakura and Bakura sama's voice! Even though it was a girl >_>;;

Don't complain about English Yugioh! I'm once again on my Yearly Vacation in Israel (and i have a comp here now!) and the Yugioh here is terrible.

Here's the thing, all the animation/cartoons here use the same people for voices. There is like a total of 5 people in all doing the voice acting for animation in Israel. It's like Yugi has the same voice as the main guy from inuyasha (sorry don't actually know the show, just know those two voices are the same), seriously. Yugi, Yami, Tristan, Varon and Joey all are played by the same guy. Tea, mokuba and Rebecca are all played by the same... GUY (WTF?) Mai and ishizu are by the same Woman, and then Seto Kaiba, Bokura, Dartz, Kozabouro, Malik, and Odion are by the same dude, and last (taht i know) , Allister, Rafael, Duke, Pegasus and Shadi are by the same man.

Talk about low budget.... Geez >_>

monolith_xyber - June 21, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
Yeah man English YUGIOH rules. You can't beat yugi's overly dramatic vocal stylings:

"ONCE AGAIN KAIBA YOUR RIDICULOUSLY OVER-INFLATED EGO BLINDS YOU TO THE TRUTH...I AM FAR FROM BEATEN"

iloveatem - June 23, 2005 02:29 AM (GMT)
I find overly dramaticism attractive in a man *sinks into fantasy world*
Anyway, I suppose that the English version is better than many other versions out there, but it still BLOWS in comparison to the Japanese version, as does everything...

Oh, it says "It wasn't me, it was my evil twin". Doesn't that just fit perfectly???

Ichigo - June 24, 2005 05:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah it does fit.

But anyway, why does 4kids feel the need to change almost every characters name? They change Jounouchi to Joey but they keep Kaiba, Yugi and Bakura the same. it doesn't make any sence...

iloveatem - June 25, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
I myself have wondered that, and why would they change only some of the names? I was about to say "because they think little kids can't understand words with more than two sylables, but then I remembered Honda and Anzu. Is the name "Anzu" really that bad?!?!

Touzokuou Bakura - June 28, 2005 04:39 AM (GMT)
o_O Funny, that's what I wonder at times...Maybe because they want the show to be more Americanized or something??

Ichigo - June 28, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
Maybe, but it's not like Te'a is a american name. Plus, they try to make it seem like it takes place in america when it REALLY, REALLY doesn't. And if they want to make it take place in america so badly why didn't they change Yugi's name to "Teddy", Kaiba to "Kyle" and Bakura to "Brian". *Shivers at the thought*

Well, we know it takes place in Japan because they go to America during Waking the Dragons...

My guess would be that they wanted more recognizable names. After all, the anime is targeted at little kids...

Ichigo - June 29, 2005 12:49 AM (GMT)
In the dubbed series they edit out all the writing on signs (Even if it's not in Japanese) and they remake all the cards to cover up the japanese letters. They never even once mention that it takes place in japan. (Unlike in the japanese version) If you ask me, I think they're just trying to cover up that it's japanese.

Touzokuou Bakura - June 29, 2005 01:33 AM (GMT)
Maybe, as Bakura is indeed a name on the list for baby names o_O

Yuggi's name wasn't changed, though that's maybe because he's the main character in there or something o_O

Ichigo - June 29, 2005 02:37 AM (GMT)
Maybe, but they changed the main character in Pokemon's name (I don't remember wwhat the original japanese name was though)
