Title: Problems with the Post Office
Description: what should I do?

SynjoDeonecros - July 16, 2005 12:41 AM (GMT)
I've got a major problem with the Post office. Recently, some of my card trades have gotten lost in the mail, and I've yet to see anything for the past couple of weeks (one particularly expensive trade's going on a month, now, with neither I nor, alledgedly, the other person), and though I've sent a report asking for the postal service to investigate into a couple of them, I've yet to hear from THEM, either.

So, what should I do in this situation? I'm losing out big, and I don't want to end up completely shutting down my online trades because of it. I feel I'm out of options. Can anyone help me with this?

I really have no idea what you can do. The best you can do is confront them and hope for the best.

Hey I once bought a shirt from Canada. It took 6 months to get to me.

I could walk to freakin' Canada in 6 months.

Anyway...

How did you send your stuff? Tracking number and all? Airmail? What? Sometimes things can just take ages, especially ground mail. And they can have no record of it. If there is some kind of postal office problems then unless you have some kind of insurance on the mail (like our recorded delivery over here in England) then there isn't going to be much you can do about it bub.

You really got to think when trading, can I accept being ripped off for these cards? how much do they mean to me? do I care if I lose em? Bottom line, if you can't risk losing then don't gamble. On that subject check the refs of the folks you were trading with and things like the length of time they have been on the site, who they have been trading with and so on If you are getting a lot of trades not going through then I'd blame the mail though. To be honest it shouldn't take no longer than 3-4 weeks for any mail screw-up to correct itself. After that you might as well forget about it. Though if you do want to file mail fraud or whatever some of the mods can probably guide you through it.

i know just what to do put a tracking number one what you are sending

then ask for inshurnce on it that way if they lose it then they have to pay you for what they lost and if the person trys to say they did not get it

the information in the computer will say they did or have it to were they got to sign for it

that way there is no dought wether they got the mail or not

see what i am saying

Doesn't help me with the cards I've already got out there. I'm asking what I can do about THEM, not what I can do to prevent it. Besides, tracking doesn't provide 100% protection over getting lost in the mail.

unless you put a tracking number on it and or inshurnce then there is nothing you can do that is why the post office came out with these thing so people that really did lose something could make a clame so sorry to say this but your cards are gone unless they come up in the future

Too bad the post office here has a stupid policy when it comes to puting tracking on ANYTHING. Normally, delivery confirmation would cost less than half a dollar to put on a letter, but I just learned that that's only for letters that are almost an INCH THICK! Otherwise, I have to pay for a priority mail package, which costs me $3-$4 EACH!
