ok i go to summonse a monster my opponent plays the solmn judgement and negates my summonse can i still normal summones a monster since my first summons was negated?

No, only get 1 attempt at Summoning a monster in a turn, and although this monster may have been negated, no other normal summons may be activated during that turn.
Hope this helps!

Actually, I think you're wrong on this one. Y'see, Solemn Judgment/Horn of Heaven NEGATES the summoning, meaning that thanks to it, the summon DID NOT HAPPEN. It's true that you can normally only have one Normal summon at a time, but I was under the impression that the summon had to be SUCCESSFUL. Maybe I'm wrong, but if a card prevents you from successfully normal summoning a monster (like Solemn Judgment), then I see no reason why you couldn't have another go at it.

No, you get 1 normal summon per turn, even if it is negated. Otherwise there would be no point playing solemn judgement/horn of heaven.

A more logical explanation is if you tribute summon a monster and your opponent negates it, the tributed monster doesn't come back to the field. So therefore, you don't get to normal summon again. It is the same way if you summon a 4 star. It doesn't go back to your hand, so it was summoned but negated. You don't get another summon.

lol that was me me and him are friends and come ove each others house all the time and sometimes forget to log out but
i thaught so becuase even tho the summon was negated you still had you normal summon or set even tho the monster was just negated from being summoned
because you cant have two normal summons or sets or two gos at it it be redundent like dude sayed there be no point in solem judgment
i tried telling him this
raymond - July 3, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
tributing a monster is a coast for bringing a monster out thats why you dont get your monster you tributed back say i go to play jinzo and you play solemn judgement jinzo never touches the field thier for i have never normal summonsed or set a monster true or not he never touches the field because if he di he would negate solemn judgement thier for his summonse was negated and i still have mynormal summonse for that turn
Lord_kurihbo - July 3, 2005 09:35 PM (GMT)
you can't summon again because yes it does negate the summon but it counts as a summon also :flame:

You cant summon. It's just that simple. Same with attacking, if you attack and it gets negated, you can't attack again just like summoning, if u summon and it gets negated, you can't summon again. :=o

I hope we cleared things up now.

Not to be redundant, but I'd like to say that the people are right, you only get one chance at a Normal Summon or Set per turn and even if it's negated, you can't try again. (Unless "Ultimate Offering" is active.)
