I'm always open for new experiences and ideas, so when I heard about Xenocreative.com's Yugioh forum, I decided to jump at the chance to check it out. Well, I found it less than satisfactory, as they are very strict as far as forum rules goes. So strict, in fact, that I had one of my deck threads locked because I didn't specifically state what gaming format or type of deck (IRL, YVD, etc.) it was for in the thread's title. This, to me, seems like needless nitpicking. Qute honestly, to me, the latter shouldn't matter (since usually, decks on that board can be used for ANY game, IRL or otherwise), while the former can usually be discerned just by looking at the actual deck. Don't get me wrong, I like the other rules they have for their deck board, but locking my thread because I didn't specify that it was an IRL advanced-format deck that I'm currently building? Stupid, I think. To quote the Illustrious 2 Gryphon, the 'net's turning into Nazi freaking Germany on us, much like the rest of the world.
Haha, and some people here thought I was strict.
I left XC because it was too strict and every feels like they're better than you. Stupid.
Wow. I joined XC, but I never post, and now I'm probably glad that I don't. That rule makes Newz seem like he's a saint :P. I just hope that this thread doesn't turn into a flame thread on XC because that's against the rules. I'd just like to say that although their forum is too strict they deserve their success just because of how great YVD is :).
Bleh. I joined XC way before they went under new management, and I didn't stay long anyway...didn't like it much then either though. XD
What p*sses me off the most about them is not just the fact that they're too strict with their rules, but they don't even give a decent explination for WHY they have it. I'm perfectly willing to follow rules if there's a reasonable and legitimate reason to have it there, but they didn't even give me that when I asked them about it. All they said was 'Well, that's the rules, if you don't like it, then leave". If that's the attitude that they're going to have with something so insignificant, then I'm GOING to leave them.
