EvilBakura - May 28, 2004 12:01 AM (GMT)
Introduction
10 years have passed since Yugi, Joey and Kaiba obtained the Legendary Dragons and defeated the Orichalcos God. Yugi has returned the God Cards to Ishizu Ishtar, feeling that the time to unlock his powers hasn’t come yet.
Seto Kaiba has become the top producer of Duel Monsters gear, including the Virtual World system and the Duel Disk system. Joey Wheeler has become intercontinental champion, and is respected as one of the world’s top duelists now. Yugi has retained the title of King of Games, and owns Industrial Illusions now. Bakura Ryou hasn’t been heard of in some time, and Mai Valentine has begun to date Joey Wheeler, and is also respected as one of the world’s top duelists.
Very soon though, trouble will come once again, and Yugi will have to use all his powers to save the world.

Chapter 1: Unseen Enemies
Yugi Motou sighed as he reviewed Industrial Illusion’s report on the company status. Ever since he had obtained the company from Maximillion Pegasus 4 years ago, Yugi had been in competition with KaibaCorp for popularity in the duelist world. Much like their old rivalry when they dueled at Battle City, Yugi felt that this is just another match between him and Seto. Sighing as he goes back to work, he doesn’t notice a figure staring at him from across the building.
Bakura glared at Yugi sitting in Industrial Illusion’s headquarters. 10 years had passed since he was rescued from the Shadow Realm, and ever since he had graduated he had been living off the streets, rejecting his friends help out of shame. He had become a respectable thief, and was the leader of a gang adept at stealing cards. He was caught 2 years ago, and had asked Yugi for help, but was offered none. He had been released recently, and now wanted revenge against Yugi for abandoning him.
Bakura sighed as he turned away. He had lost all of his Millenium Items, making a move against Yugi very difficult. He soon planned to get back his Ring and the Eye, with a little help from his gang. They would strike at midnight, when the buildings security was most lax.

Chapter 2: Ancient Items Taken
Night fell quickly. Yugi signed the last report about Industrial Illusion’s stock, then sighed and walked towards the president room’s exit. He looked back one last time. The Millenium Items glinted in the moonlight. He looked at each of them, remembering the battles fought for each of them. The Eye, the Necklace, the Ring, and the Rod. All of them caused enough trouble to make a young boy mature in no time. Finally Yugi turned off the lights and left the building.
As soon as Yugi left, dark shadows withered on the next buildings roof. A muffled shot was heard, followed by a “clank”. Then dark shapes began to descend the rope onto Industrial Illusion building’s rooftop. They then proceeded to the center of the building, right above the president room’s glass pane roof. As they arrived, the moonlight struck one person’s face and revealed it. It was Bakura.
They began to drill one of the glass pane windows out. When they had succeeded, they gently removed it and silently dropped to the floor. Bakura took a look around and preceded them in. He silently gestured, and the others with him set up a perimeter around the room.
Bakura reverently approached the pillars housing the Millenium Items. He stepped in front of the Millenium Ring, and gently touched the glass surrounding it. He spoke quietly, “I once rejected you for taking over my body at your will, but now I need you for my revenge against all that Yugi has done.” He then gently removed the glass panel containing the Ring.
Instantly an alarm began to sound. Bakura cast a wild glance around, and then yelled, everyone out! NOW!” He took the Ring off the stand, then proceeded to the glass container holding the Millenium Eye and quickly broke it. He took the Eye, and ran towards the rope his gang members had dropped down. Guards entered the room and began to open fire. Bakura reached the rope and quickly climbed up, but was struck in the arm by a bullet. He reached the top and ran towards the edge of the building. “Everyone go! Across the rooftop!” he shouted. He quickly went back across the rope connected the two buildings together, and with bullets flashing by them, him and his gang quickly disappeared into the shadows.

Chapter 3: Aftermath
Yugi surveyed the damage done in the Presidents Room. It was 2:00 at night. Looking around, he noticed the work done on the window, and the precision in which the robbery was executed. Finally he walked over to where the Millenium Items were kept. He stared at the remaining Items, thankful that they had not been stolen as well. Finally he looked to see which ones were missing. “The Ring and the Eye?” he says quietly. What could this mean? He quickly came to a conclusion. “Bakura!” he exclaimed. “He has returned and has taken back the Ring. Nothing good can come out of this.” Yugi walked to the window and stared out at the city, wondering just what sort of trouble would start now.
Across town, Bakura was nursing his arm in his apartment. He had sent his gang members home, seeing that they were shook up from the close call they had. Bakura walked slowly to his sole table, and gently picked up the Millenium Ring. “Finally you return to me.” he said, slipping on the Ring.
Instantly the Ring started to glow, and Bakura screamed as a familiar consciousness takes over.
Bakura laughed softly. “Finally, I have returned, and this time Ryou isn’t against me…soon the other Millenium Items shall be mine.” Yami Bakura said. He starts to lick the blood off his arm, enjoying the taste of it once again. “Yes very soon…”
Yugi slowly turned away from the sight of the city. “Tristan!” he called out. “Yeah Yugi, what’s up?” Tristan, now in charge of security at Industrial Illusions, said as he ran up. “I want full motion detectors in here at all times from now on. Put adjacent tunnels leading up to the Millenium Items, so guards can arrive here instantly.” Yugi said. “This won’t happen again.” he promised silently to himself.
In Bakura’s apartment, Yami Bakura looked down at the Millenium Eye in the palm of his hand. “To wear it now would cost me dearly if putting it on should be dangerous, but revenge on Yugi and taking the Millenium Items is essential, I must do it” Slowly he raised the Eye up to his own left eye. His hands started to shake. Then, very slowly, he pressed the Millenium Eye’s pupil against his own.
Bakura screamed with pain instantly. He clutched his head, and fell to his knees. Soon he went quiet, and he collapses onto the floor.

Chapter 4: A New Power
Yugi yawned and stretched. Getting out of bed, he gently touched the picture of his grandfather. He then got dressed and prepared for another day of work. Looking fondly at Tea as she slept, he quietly left.
Walking down the street, Yugi couldn’t keep his mind off Bakura and the Millenium Ring he had taken. Yugi knew that soon, Yami Bakura would once again reappear to collect the Millenium Items, and this time Ryou would help him. Closing his eyes, Yugi wished that this trouble wouldn’t always happen to him. But he knew it was his destiny to fight these battles. He continued on to Industrial Illusions.
In a small apartment across town, a figure stirred as the sun hit it. Bakura groaned, and grabbed his table to heave himself up. Slowly he went to the bathroom. He clicked on the light, and then went to the sink to rinse his face with water, hoping it would make him feel better. He gasped when he saw his reflection in the grimy mirror above the sink.
”Hahahaha, so it worked after all.” Bakura said with a smile. The Millenium Eye glinted in the morning sun, where it had replaced Bakura’s left eye. He smiled again, and said, “I now see with such clarity, such power.” He laughed softly. “Yugi doesn’t stand a chance anymore, against the combined powers of my two items.”
Yugi walked into the office, and saw a figure approach him. “Who are you?” Yugi asked suspiciously. “Come on Yug, don’t ya remember your old friends?” Joey said as he stepped into the sunlight. “Joey!” Yugi cried. He quickly ran over and gave his friend a quick hug. “What brings you here Joey?” Yugi asked. “Well, we heard about your troubles wit the robbery, and came to see if we could help” Joey replied. “We?” inquired Yugi. “You don’t think I’m gonna let this knucklehead out of my sight, do you Yugi?” Mai Valentine said as she stepped out of the shadows. She gave a warm smile to Joey. “Mai! It’s so good to see you.” Yugi exclaimed. “You too Yugi” Mai said, “and we’ve come so we can calm Bakura down once and for all.” “Its go-time wit Bakura!” Joey let out vehemently. Thanks guys” Yugi said.
Across town, Bakura shielded his eyes as he stepped out into the sun. “First I will require some things before I can go after Yugi” he said. Bakura quickly called his gang together for a meeting in an abandoned warehouse, and spoke when they had settled down. “My friends, many great changes will come shortly! We will not be just common thieves anymore! We will strike at the very heart of the industrial world, and take all that we desire! No one shall be able to stop us!” Bakura raised his fist into the air, and his gang members cheered wildly and started clapping. “Soon Yugi shall face me, and I shall prevail, and finally take the Millenium Items from him” Bakura thought. "Very soon..."

Chapter 5: Planning and Ambushing
Yugi, Joey and Mai began to search night and day for Bakura. They first checked his last known whereabouts, an old apartment on the other side of Domino City. While the apartment was empty, recent signs of someone staying here were noticeable. Yugi, Mai and Joey decided to stake out the apartment and wait for Bakura to come home.
Meanwhile, Bakura was busy planning strike after strike against numerous banks so he would have enough money to buy whatever he needed to defeat Yugi. After hours of planning, he gathered his gang together, which he had christened “Dark Zealots.” Telling them of his plans, they decided that the best way to accomplish these goals were with lightning quick strikes. Detailing every move possible, they made scenarios and plans that would deal with any type of danger thrown at them. Bakura wouldn’t be caught off guard again.
Yugi yawned as the hours crept by. Night had fallen hours ago, but no sign of activity had shown from the apartment. Joey and Mai had fallen asleep, telling Yugi that they would switch every few hours to keep watch. As Yugi watched them sleeping in each other’s arms, he thought about Tea, and wondered if she had gone to sleep yet. He began to think about the past years after the Orichalcos ordeal, he thought about the reason he hadn’t bailed Bakura out when he had been arrested. Should he have freed him? He had been so busy then. Yugi’s eyes became heavy, and soon he had nodded off to sleep himself.
Bakura stretched as he went home. The day had brought many accomplishments, and the Dark Zealot’s would execute their first strike tomorrow at noon. Bakura laughed silently as he thought about the things he had in store for Yugi when he had all the money he would need. Nearing his apartment, his Millenium Ring suddenly glowed faintly and the pointers pointed to the right. “Ah…trying to capture me Yugi?” said Bakura softly “you’ll find you’ll have to do better than that to capture me…” He waited for Yugi to jump out and declare a duel between them, but no one approached him.
“Hmm…the only other person that owns a Millenium Item is Shadi…and my Eye tells me that Shadi isn’t there…” Slowly Bakura approached the spot that the Ring had pointed out. Creeping up, he finally saw Yugi, fast asleep, with Joey and Mai. “How sweet…friends united.” Bakura said softly. “You’re lucky I don’t have my gang with me now Yugi or I would take your Millenium Items by torturing your friends…be grateful that I am alone” Bakura slowly turned away and walked away from his apartment, towards Dark Zealot’s headquarters, where he would stay from now on.

Chapter 6: An Opportunity
Yugi snapped awake. The sun was just beginning to touch him. Cursing himself for falling asleep, he looked at Bakura’s apartment to see if any change had come. No one had been inside the apartment it seemed. Muttering about how stupid he was to fall asleep, he roused Joey.
“Joey! Joey, wake up!”
“Huh? What’s up Yugi?”
Joey yawned.
“I accidentally fell asleep. It doesn’t look like Bakura came back to the apartment, though I sense that he was near us at some point in time.”
“Aw man! I so wanted to beat some sense into him too…oh well, we’ll get him soon enough Yug.”
Joey gently roused Mai awake.
“Well, lets be on our way then guys…I don’t think Bakura’s ever gonna come back here now that he knows we were here.” Yugi said
“K Yugi, back to Industrial Illusions…might as well wait for Bakura to make a move first.” Mai said.
A few blocks away, at an abandoned warehouse, Bakura supervised his Zealots as they went about preparing for their strike at the National Honor Bank, a bank that held a large percentage of Industrial Illusion’s money. One of the Zealots lieutenants approached Bakura.
“Sir, all members are ready for the strike.”
“Good…I want them ready to move out at 11:00 sharp.” Bakura said.
“Yes sir…but sir, I’m having second thoughts about this strike. What if Industrial Illusion retaliates? The Feds could be on us in no time with their CEO’s influence.”
With one swift move, Bakura lashed out and chopped the man’s throat, crushing his windpipe. The lieutenant gagged and clutched his throat, but it was too late. He died after trying to breathe a few times. All activity in the warehouse stopped as the Zealots turned and looked at the doomed man.
“Anyone else have any doubts about this strike?” Bakura asked in a menacing tone.
A chorus of, “No Sir!” rang out, and as Bakura turned away, the busy activity resumed, with low conversation breaking out. Bakura simply smiled as he read all of his gang member’s minds with the Eye. They were all afraid, and would be easily controlled.
Yugi, Joey and Mai arrived at the Industrial Illusion building and quickly went inside. They took the elevator up to the Presidents room, and were greeted by Tristan. Joey quickly took the opportunity to catch up with his longtime friend.
“Hey, ya big dope, how you treatin my sis?”
“Joey, stop worryin about her man! She’s fine, and happy.” Tristan shot back.
“Yeah, well, it better stay that way, or its go-time!” Joey countered.
“Pfft, like you could ever beat me.” Tristan scoffed.
“You boys seriously have some problems,” Mai said.
“Enough with the jokes guys, we seriously have to find Bakura, and fast.” Yugi said.
“Oh, about that. My guys have been going over the evidence from the other robbery the other day, and have managed to capture one of the gang members. He was interrogated, and we found out a lot of stuff.” Tristan said. He pointed to a thick pile of papers on Yugi’s desk.
“Give us the shortened version Tristan,” said Yugi, Joey and Mai simultaneously.
“Ok, well in short, Bakura has renamed his gang as Dark Zealots…fitting, isn’t it? Evil spirit trapped in a Millenium Item, controlling a gang called Dark Zealots…anyways, we also found out that they’re planning a very coordinated strike against a bank today. Time: unknown. Location: unknown as well. Bakura only told his most trusted lieutenants within the gang. There’s also one very important thing you should know Yugi” Tristan said.
“What is it?” Yugi asked.
“The gang member that we captured told us that Bakura had a golden eye in his left socket. He claimed that it had “mystical powers” and that Bakura always knew when someone was lying or not.” Tristan said.
“Oh no…Bakura’s managed to put on the Millenium Eye! Now he shall have more power than ever before!”
Joey shuddered. “Not that freaky Eye again…that thing almost made you lose your duel at Duelist Kingdom Yugi.” Joey said.
“Yugi, this is dangerous. That Eye gives Bakura a certain advantage over any of us, so we won’t be able to help you out.” Mai said.
“I know, and I appreciate your concern Mai, but I have my friends as a shield to block the power of the Millenium Eye.” Yugi said.
Joey sighed. “Whatever you say buddy.”
“I just hope it’s enough…” he added silently.
Across town, Bakura and his Zealots dressed up for the strike. Wearing all black, they would be unrecognizable. Bakura’s attire included a striking black cape, making him easily recognizably the leader. He wanted Yugi to know which one of the robbers was he. Checking his watch, he shouted out, “Lets ride!” All of the Zealots boarded into their respectable vehicles. Black Hummers started up, their engines purring. Five members leapt onto black motorcycles, and the engines shrill wines cut into the air. The last member, wearing a black cape and a streamlined helmet, leapt onto the last motorcycle. Bakura lifted his visor for a second and faced his gang.
“You all know that today is the first step to the downfall of a mighty company! I want you to know that I recognize your loyalty to this organization, and I thank you for staying by with me! Soon, Industrial Illusions shall collapse, and its riches shall be ours!” Bakura raised a triumphant fist into the air. The Zealots cheered wildly, thinking of the money and luxury that awaited them. Bakura’s mind was on Yugi though. Doing a quick 180 degrees turn and lowering his visor, he shouted at the Zealots, “Let the terror begin!” And with that, the dark cloud of bodies roared away towards their target bank.

Chapter 7: Lightning Strike
A black cloud of vehicles screeched to a halt right in front of a bank. Black bodies moved silently and swiftly, moving towards the building stealthily. They reached the main doors and crashed through. Some gunshots were heard, and then all went silent. A figure in black wearing a flowing cloak stepped into the bank.
Bakura glanced around at the carnage his Zealots had left behind. He knew that they were stripping this bank of its money and precious items at the moment, greedily stuffing their bags and pockets with all the luxury they could get their hands on. Bakura just shook his head and walked deeper into the bank. He found what he wanted after minutes of walking. He stood in front of a gigantic vault with the Industrial Illusions logo on top. He placed some detonators upon the door, then walked back and stood there silently, counting off. When the timers reached zero, they exploded, taking the entire wall and creating an enormous fire. Bakura calmly walked through the flames, using his Millenium Ring to protect him, until he reached a stash of cash that Industrial Illusions kept in the vault. He quickly loaded it into a silver suitcase, and silently tipped his head at the camera as he left.
Yugi paced, too restless to sit down. In the background Joey and Tristan had begun arguing again, while Mai just sat there being entertained. Yugi stopped pacing and silently gazed out the window. Suddenly his eyes widened. In the distance he saw smoke, and the smoke rose from the same exact spot where Industrial Illusions held a large percentage of their cash. He turned swiftly around and yelled to Joey, Tristan and Mai, “Lets go! Bakura has struck at the National Honor Bank; we must go there at once!” Joey and Tristan dashed after Yugi, and Mai had already moved up beside Yugi. “I hope we’re fast enough…” Yugi though. They slid down the railings of the stairs until they reached the parking deck. Hundreds of sport cars awaited them, and Yugi took a set of keys off a wall hook and pressed the alarm. A red sports car chirped at them, and they all piled in. The car screeched as Yugi took off in the direction of the bank.
Bakura began ordering his men out. He knew that Yugi would be here soon, and wanted to avoid a confrontation between them until he was ready to take down Yugi. As the last of his men pulled out, he looked back quickly at the flames and destruction all around the bank. Smiling evilly, he stepped out of the bank, the doorway filling with flames after his departure. Putting on his sleek helmet, he got on his motorcycle, revved the engine, and took off, disappearing in the traffic.
Yugi slid the car to a halt right outside the bank. Fire crept up through the roof, and the doorway was filled with the orange glow of flames. He heard sirens in the distance, no doubt the firefighters and police coming to investigate. He looked around for any signs of Bakura, but saw none. Sighing, he looked at Joey and Mai. “We’re too late.” Yugi said.

Chapter 8: The Reunion
Yugi stared at the vault that had previously held a large amount of Industrial Illusion’s cash. No doubt the company would take a hit from this robbery. Trying to figure out what Bakura’s plan was, he shook his head after a while. After the firefighters had cleared the flames away and deemed the building safe for investigation, Yugi and the police had entered to find clues. They found little. Only the charred remains of the bank stood, along with the vaults that hadn’t been broken into. Sighing heavily, he looked out at the carnage around him.
“Such a sigh…perhaps I could try one of those as well.” A voice said behind Yugi. Yugi turned swiftly around. “Duke! What are you doing here?” Yugi exclaimed. “Same thing as you I suppose. Industrial Illusions is our partner company, and anything that happens to it happens to us.” Duke replied. Yugi ran over and clasped his hand, asking, “How’s the wife, old friend?” “Rebecca’s alright, though she’s furious about this incident.” Duke replied. Yugi laughed. “Yes, I suppose she is, isn’t she?” He said after the fit of laughter. Duke and Yugi walked out of the bank, letting the police continue their investigation.
“Hey, look who showed up!” Joey said. He, Tristan, Mai and Serenity stood outside the bank. Yugi looked at Serenity and asked, “What are you doing here Serenity?” while Joey and Tristan gave Duke a high five. “I was watching the news and saw what happened to the bank, and I knew Tristan would be down here.” Serenity replied after giving Duke a hug. “Hey Duke, what are you doing down here man?” Tristan asked. “Industrial Illusion’s our partner company, right? Whatever happens to it happens to us too, so I came down here to see what I could figure out. Didn’t figure you guys would be down here too.” Duke replied.
“Yugi!” a voice called out.
Yugi turned around, and started running. “Tea!” he cried out happily. Tea started running towards Yugi as well, and they both fell into each other’s arms, Tea burying her face in Yugi’s neck, even though he was covered with ash and soot. “I saw what happened on the news, and I knew you’d be down here. I didn’t know if you were alright or not.” Tea said. “Its ok Tea, I’m alright.” Yugi said, cradling her.
The group walked over to where Tea and Yugi were. They let go of each other, embarrassed. “Hey Tea, what’s up?” Mai said, winking. “Hey guys! I didn’t figure all of you would be down here!” Tea exclaimed, giving hugs to the group. “Yeah, well, you know us, we’re always tryin to keep Yug outta trouble.” Joey said, grinning. “Well, it looks like our gang’s back together.” Duke said happily. “And together, we’ll take on Bakura and show him the error of his ways.” Yugi said, slipping his arm around Tea’s waist. Together, the gang walked off, in the direction of their car.
A dark figure stepped out into the sunlight. “Think what you will Yugi. Now that the gang’s back together, I can send you all to the Shadow Realm, and nobody will be able to resist me then.” Bakura said. Laughing evilly, he started his motorcycle again and sped off in the direction of the Dark Zealots headquarters.

Chapter 9: Darkness Unleashed
Bakura smiled as he looked around. A day had passed since the Zealots had struck and looted the National Honor Bank. Immediately following the robbery, the Zealots collected all the money that had been stolen and began to buy new equipment, such as guns and vehicles. Bakura had not put the Industrial Illusion’s money into the money pool. He had “special” plans with the money.
As he went about inspecting all the work, Bakura suddenly sensed something. His Eye was seeing a danger. Suddenly the Eye glowed faintly, and Bakura “saw” a Zealot stuffing money and some precious gems into a backpack. Bakura walked calmly towards the money pool, slipping a dagger behind his wrist. When he saw the man, he called out, “YOU! Come here!” The man walked towards him like nothing was happening. “Yes sir?” he inquired.
Bakura immediately whipped out the dagger from behind his wrist, and stabbed downward towards the traitor’s chest. The man saw it and tried to block the blow, and partially succeeded. The dagger missed its intended target, but sank deep into the traitors arm. He screamed and clutched his arm, cursing Bakura and pleading for his life. Bakura calmly raised the dagger again, saying coldly, “Betraying me will only reward you with death.”, and slit the man’s throat. As the man gurgled and slowly died, Bakura raised the crimson stained dagger to his lips and harnessed the red liquid, drinking deeply. After licking off the blood, he stared at the rest of the Zealots and said in a dangerous tone, “Hear me now! Any other man that steals from this money pool will share the same fate as this traitor!” He gestured at the corpse of the dead thief, and as the rest of the Zealots looked at him a collective shudder went around the group. They turned away and went back to work, whispering frightened words to their comrades. Bakura laughed coldly as he looked at them. “Fear is such an effective way to control the masse.” He thought. “Soon Yugi shall tremble in fear before me…very soon.”

Chapter 10: A Hidden Stash
Yugi stretched as the sun came into the window of his and Tea’s house. Joey and Mai were still sleeping peacefully on the floor, while Serenity and Tristan were downstairs on the couch. Duke was in the guest room, and Yugi got up, dressed, and went to check on him. He knocked gently on the door, and when he heard, “Come in.” he gently eased the door open and stepped inside.
“Wow, you’re up awfully early.” Yugi said as he shut the door gently.
“Habit.” Duke replied. He was typing on his laptop, which was plugged into the Internet. “What are you doing up this early?” Duke asked Yugi with a smile.
“Habit” replied Yugi. They both grinned.
“What’re you working on?” asked Yugi.
“I’m doing a cross check examination on the robbery. I have to figure out how Industrial Illusions will do after this robbery.” Duke replied.
“So how’s it looking so far?” Yugi replied.
“So far so good. As long as Bakura doesn’t strike here-“he pointed to a map on the computer screen, “-then we’ll be fine. Most of Industrial Illusion’s money is held in there.”
Yugi squinted at the screen. He gasped when he saw where Duke was pointing to.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Yugi said.
“I assure you I’m not.” Duke said.
“But…..Cairo?! Who in the world moved most of our money so far away from headquarters?” Yugi asked.
“I did. I thought your money would be safer the farther away it was.” Duke replied.
“Well...I guess that makes sense….” Yugi said.
“Of course it does. Now as long as Bakura doesn’t find out that Industrial Illusion’s stash is in Cairo, then we’re fine.” Duke said.
“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m hungry.” Duke stated.
“But Tea’s not up yet.” Yugi replied.
“I’ll cook. Eggs and sausage? Or some bacon?” Duke asked.
“Sausage please. And when did you learn how to cook?” Yugi asked.
“Something I picked up from Rebecca’s grandfather.” replied Duke as he walked out of the door, leaving Yugi to ponder on what Bakura was planning next, and when Yugi would lay out a trap for Bakura to walk into.

Chapter 11: The Bait
Bakura’s raid’s become legend among the underworld. Strike after strike, bank after bank, the Dark Zealots made away with almost 10 million dollars. Their ranks swelled up as more and more members joined. It was as if they were an unstoppable locust swarm, eating and sucking the life out of the economy. Bakura still wasn’t happy though.
“GRAAAAH!” Bakura screamed with rage, throwing the suitcase containing the Industrial Illusion’s money at the wall. “Why isn’t Industrial Illusion’s suffering from our raids?!?!” Bakura screamed at no one in particular, throwing a large book across the room. Gulping, one of his lieutenants answered in a shaking voice, “I don’t know sir.” Bakura immediately threw a dart at the man, who yelped and ducked. “FIND OUT YOU IMBESILE!” Bakura yelled. “Yes sir, yes sir, yes sir!” the man cried, whimpering and crawling out of the room. Bakura turned to his other lieutenants. “Are we ready for our next raid?” he asked. “Yes sir. The Zealots are ready on your command.” One of the lieutenants replied. “Good. Let’s go then.” Bakura said, walking out of the room and jumping on his motorcycle.
Yugi slammed a fist against his deck, making everyone jump. “Why aren’t we tracking Bakura’s movements?!” Yugi yelled. “Yug, calm down. The police are looking everywhere for him, but he always manages to disappear in time. It’s that Eye of his Yug.” Joey said, trying to calm Yugi down. Yugi just sighed and turned away, looking out at the city through his window. “At least the bait is set. When he goes after it, we will trap him and make him rethink his decisions.” Yugi said softly. “That’s right, we’ll catch him then love.” Tea said, walking around the desk and sitting in Yugi’s lap. Yugi smiled, but then looked out the window again. “I hope so…” Yugi said.
The Dark Zealot’s raiding party screeched to a halt outside of the bank. Bakura leaped off his motorcycle and charged in. “FREEZE!” he heard a man say. Bakura looked around till he found the voice. A police barrier was set up along the front desk of the bank, guns out and pointed at Bakura. “You want to shoot me?! THEN SHOOT ME!” Bakura said, laughing. He rushed at the police barrier. Bewildered, the police just stared until Bakura was 5 feet away, then their captain yelled, “FIRE!” and shots rang out, all aimed at Bakura’s head. Bakura was already dodging, but 3 of the shots found their mark on Bakura’s cheek, creating 3 deep cuts within his face. Bakura smiled, and then raised his hands. “I hope you enjoy your stay within the Shadow Realm you fools!” Bakura yelled, and then his Millenium Ring glowed brightly, blinding the Zealots watching. After the glow had faded, and the Zealots turned to look, only the gun’s of the police officer’s remained. Muttering amongst themselves, the Zealots rushed off to raid the vaults.
A lieutenant approached Bakura, gasping when he saw the deep cuts on Bakura’s face. “Sir, your wounded!” the lieutenant cried. “I’ll be fine. Continue on with the operation.” Bakura said, wiping the blood trickling down his cheek and licking it off his hand. He approached the vault holding the Industrial Illusion’s logo, a giant I.I. After blowing the vault, he went in. “What the hell?!” was all Bakura could say as he looked around. The money that was supposed to be in there was gone. Only a couple of important looking documents remained. “d***!” Bakura yelled. Gathering the documents hastily, he left. “LET’S GO!” Bakura yelled, already on his motorcycle. Revving the engine, he sped off.
The phone rang in Yugi’s office, and Yugi picked up. “Yes?” he inquired at the speaker. “Sir, the bank was just hit. He made off with them.” was the only thing the guard on the other side said. “Good. Clean up, and then get back here.” Yugi said, hanging up. “It seems he’s taken the bait. Now all we have to do is wait.” Yugi said to the group. Not caring for a response, he stared out of the window again, towards a distant area where a trail of smoke was beginning to rise.

Chapter 12: The Beginning of the End
Bakura stared at the sheets he had spread out across his desk. These sheets were the ones taken from the Industrial Illusion’s vault they had just raided. Most contained very important, to the Company that is, information, such as stocks, percentages of the company’s money, and of their business cycle. But one sheet had shocked Bakura when he had seen it. It listed the location of all the banks where the Industrial Illusion’s fortune was kept, and what significance to the company that percentage was. Bakura scrolled down the sheet until he saw where the most money was being kept. “Cairo…..Egypt.” Bakura said softly to himself. “Where it all began….5, 000 years ago. It seems destiny will bring me and the Pharaoh together again, for one last battle….” Bakura curled his fist up and slammed it into the desktop. “This CANT be! Destiny has no control over me! I make my OWN future!” Slumping down in his seat, Bakura continued to stare at the papers, and wondered if he would have to battle the Pharaoh once again.
Yugi paced across the floor of the President’s room. “Any news yet?!” He demanded. “Yug, just calm down. The news’ll come when it comes.” Joey said, yawning. “Yeah, seriously dude, just take a chill pill.” Tristan said, cuddling with Serenity on the couch. Tea slipped off the chair she was sitting on and went over to Yugi, softly kissing him. “It’ll be fine.” she said softly. Yugi gave her a brave grin, saying, “I guess I should be less worried, huh?” “Yes.” Tea said, taking Yugi’s hand and guiding him to his chair. After he sat down, she sat down in his lap and started stroking his hair. Suddenly the phone rang, and Yugi lunged at it, almost knocking Tea over. “Hello?!” he said as he picked up. “Why you kick my dog?” a childish voice screamed at Yugi. “What?! Look kid, don’t call here again.” Yugi said, slamming the phone down. Tea sighed and took Yugi’s face in her hands again, stroking his cheek and giving him soft kisses.
Bakura walked out of the office, carrying the suitcase of Industrial Illusions money and the files. He mounted his motorcycle and turned the engine on. “Sir! Where are you going?” A lieutenant cried, running up. “On an extended leave.” said Bakura calmly. “I leave you in charge of the Zealots, Van.” The lieutenant, Van, dropped to one knee and bowed. “I understand sir.” Bakura revved the engine then took off down the street, heading for the airport. When he arrived, he bought a private airline ticket to Cairo. Arriving at his gate, he got on the plane and settled down, thinking about what he would do when he arrived at Cairo.
The phone rang again. Yugi, in the middle of making out with Tea, silently apologized and picked up the receiver. “Hello?” Yugi said, still giving Tea an apologetic look. “Sir, Bakura purchased a ticket to Cairo at 1:00 this afternoon.” the guard on the other end said. Yugi immediately shooed Tea off his lap and stood up, looking at his watch. “Understood.” Yugi said, hanging up. “Let’s go! Bakura left at 1:00 today. Its now 3 o’clock. We can still catch him if we hurry.” The rest of the gang immediately stood up. “But Yug, we can’t get to Cairo before Bakura can!” Joey exclaimed. “Oh yes we can.” Yugi said, running out the door, with the gang right at his feet. As they climbed into Yugi’s car, Mai said, “You know Yugi, Joey’s right. We can’t get to Cairo in time.” Yugi didn’t say anything, revving the engine and speeding off towards the airport.
Bakura’s Millenium Ring glowed faintly, and Bakura looked at it. “A danger to me has arisen…..” Bakura thought. Closing his eye, he called upon the power of the Millenium Eye. After a few moments of looking through it, he opened his eye again. “Ah…..Yugi. So, you wish to catch me…..I’m afraid you wont catch me in time.” Bakura thought. He silently laughed and continued to sip on the drink the flight attendant had brought him.
Yugi screeched to a halt outside the Industrial Illusion’s private entrance into the airport. As they piled out of the car, Yugi went through and pointed. “THAT’S how we’re going to catch Bakura.” Yugi said, smiling. The rest of the gang just gaped. Before them was a jet, much like the ones business executives ride in. But instead of the normal body, it was shaped in the form of Curse of Dragon. “Borrowed the idea from Kaiba.” Yugi said, smiling as he recalled Kaiba’s very own Blue Eyes White Dragon jet. He suddenly gasped. There it was! Kaiba’s BEWD Jet! He ran over to it, and watched as Kaiba descended the steps. “Kaiba, what are you doing here?” Yugi asked. “Please Yugi, I’m not interested in joining you or your pathetic friends. I’m just here to make sure that Industrial Illusion’s doesn’t fall.” Kaiba exclaimed. “Oh yeah?! Why would you care about Industrial Illusion’s anyways, Kaiba?!” Joey said, shaking a fist at Kaiba. “Well, if Industrial Illusion’s goes out of business, we’d be declared as a monopoly and shut down too.” Mokuba said, pushing his way past Kaiba. “Well, that makes sense. Care to ride? Or would you prefer to ride your own jet?” Yugi asked. “We’ll take our own jet.” Kaiba said. “We just came down to let you know we’re accompanying you to Cairo.” Kaiba climbed back up the stairs and closed the door. “Guess that means us too guys.” Yugi said. He and the gang ran back to the CoD Jet and climbed on, its engines already purring and preparing to lift off.

Chapter 13: Flight to Cairo
Joey yawned as he stared out the window. Clouds were rushing by quickly, and they were already over the sea. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Kaiba’s BEWD Jet. Glaring at it, he turned away. “Hey Yug, got any drinks on this fast movin hunk of tin?” Joey asked. “Sure Joey.” Yugi got up and went into a back room. “Whatdo’ya want?” he yelled. “Coke!” Joey said. “Fast one!” Yugi yelled, tossing a can of Coke at Joey. “Joey caught it deftly and popped it open. Taking a long sip, he sighed as his thirst was quenched.
“Hey big bro, what are we gonna do about Bakura? He’s not exactly stable.” Mokuba said from the copilot’s seat of the BEWD Jet. “I don’t know Mokuba, and I don’t really care. I’m just here to see that our company survives, and that Industrial Illusion’s does as well.” Kaiba said coldly, looking over at the CoD Jet. Mokuba let out a heavy sigh, thinking about what to do with Bakura.
Yugi looked around the jet as he stepped out of the back room, sipping on a glass of wine. Duke and Tristan were enraptured in a duel, both of them yelling at each other for their moves, and Serenity laughing with pleasure at watching them. Joey and Mai were both preoccupied, staring into each other’s eyes. Joey had long forgotten about his drink. As Yugi grinned as he looked at his friends. He suddenly gasped in surprise as he felt to arms slink around his waist. “They’re having a blast being back together, aren’t they?” Tea said, softly kissing Yugi’s cheek. “Yes, they are. It’s good that we’re together again.” Yugi said. He swiftly whirled around, pinning Tea against the wall. Tea grinned and ducked out from under Yugi’s arms. Yugi smiled, tempted at the game they were playing.
Mokuba looked over at Yugi’s I.I. Jet, and wondered what Yugi and the gang were doing. Sighing, he turned back to his virtual duel against a computer. In the last 10 years, he had become a better duelist, though still lacked far behind from Yugi and Kaiba. His opponent had a Curse of Dragon out upon the field, and 2 cards facedown. Mokuba became enraptured in the duel once again.
Tea ran into a smaller section of the plane, more private and secured. Grinning, she silently hid behind the door. Yugi ran in and looked around for Tea. Tea jumped out from behind the door and pushed against Yugi, driving him into the door and closing it. Yugi grinned and locked the door, kissing Tea passionately as he did so. Yugi breathed deep, taking in the sweet smell of Tea’s perfume. Running his hands upon her back, he sighed with ecstasy. Tea clutched the front of Yugi’s shirt, as if she would never let go. They fell to the floor and started undressing.
Mokuba groaned. His opponent had managed to summon out a Tyrant Dragon, and he only had a Kuriboh on the field. He drew a virtual card again, and hissed a “Yessss….” He played a Raigeki, demolishing the Tyrant Dragon, and sacrificed his Kuriboh to summon a Jinzo. Attacking the computer directly, he pumped his fist into the air in victory. The computer’s life points dropped to 0, and announced Mokuba the winner. Shutting down the program, he leaned back in his chair contently. “Congrats Mokuba.” Seto said as the victory popped up on his HED. “You’re a level 5 duelist now. Soon you’ll be in the big league.” “Yea, but Yugi is level 12, and you’re level 10, while Joey and Mai are level 8. I’m not even close yet.” Mokuba said, pouting. “Don’t worry Mokuba, you’ll be up there with us one day.” said Seto.
A speaker near the door suddenly came to life and said, “Sir. We’re nearing Cairo.” Yugi sighed and got up off of Tea. Tea looked at him, much like that of a child robbed of candy. Yugi’s breath caught in his throat as he stared at Tea, sitting there in that posture, naked. Giving her a silent “I’m sorry” he went to the speaker and said “Understood. Prepare for landing.” He turned away as the pilot said “Yes sir.” Getting dressed, he flopped down besides Tea again. “I know I’ve denied you so many times, my angel. I promise that I’ll give you my all after this deal with Bakura has been sorted out.” Yugi said, giving Tea a soft kiss and stroking her back. “Well, as long as you give me your all.” Tea said, teasingly licking Yugi’s cheek. Getting up, she began to dress as well.
“Alright Mokuba, strap in. We’re nearing Cairo.” Seto said, starting to pilot the jet closer to the landing strip. “Alright Seto. Think Bakura’s arrived yet?” Mokuba asked. “Perhaps. He’s going down if he is.” Seto said, easing back on the stick. As they landed, the control tower directed them to the KaibaCorp private entrance. Shutting down the plane, he doffed his helmet and opened the cockpit. Looking around, he said, “We’re here.”

Chapter 14: A Dangerous Chase
Bakura swiftly rose from his seat the instant they landed. “Hope you enjoyed your stay on Domino Air! We hope to see you again soon.” said the flight attendant, offering up a perky smile. Bakura just shook his head and stepped out into the glaring sun. Looking around, he saw a plane in the distance coming in for a landing. Staring at it, his Millenium Ring glowed and pointed towards it. As the plane came closer, Bakura saw that it was in the form of Curse of Dragon. Eyes widening, Bakura immediately took off to where the entrance into the airport was.
Yugi ran down the stairs and towards the entrance. He had seen Bakura when they landed. Running through, he looked around. Joey ran up beside him and yelled, “There!” Through the crowd, Yugi could see Bakura pushing through the people, black cape fluttering behind him. Yugi tore down the hall after him, with the rest of the gang panting to keep up.
Bakura panted as he ran through the airport. “How could Yugi have arrived so quickly?!” he asked himself. Sliding down some stairs, he looked around and saw the rental area. Pushing through the crowd, he went out into the parking lot and quickly looked for a motorcycle. “There!” he cried silently. Jumping on the motorcycle, he quickly hotwired it and took off, smashing through the bar blocking the entrance.
Yugi stopped quickly and looked around. “d***! He’s in a motorcycle.” he yelled. Quickly grabbing the keys to one red motorcycle, he yelled as he started it, “Send the bill to Industrial Illusions!” and roared out of the parking lot after Bakura. “YUGI!” Joey yelled after him. Grabbing the rental guy, he growled, “Gimme the keys to a fast car that can seat 6.” The rental guys swallowed nervously and handed the keys to Joey. They all piled in the car and took off after Yugi.
Bakura quickly winded through the traffic. Looking in his side mirrors, he spotted Yugi chasing him. “If it’s a chase you want, then it’s a chase you’ll get Yugi.” Bakura said, strapping in the suitcase one-handed. Popping the clutch, he sped up. Yugi narrowed his eyes when he saw Bakura’s move. Shifting to 5th gear, he sped up as well, chasing Bakura onto the freeway.
“Aw, we’ll NEVER get through this traffic!” Joey yelled in frustration. Ahead of them was an enormous traffic jam that led all the way to the freeway. “We’ll never going to catch up with Yugi.” Duke said. “I suggest we find our own rides.” Getting out of the car, he cleared a path in the traffic by waving his hands wildly. Joey backed the car up into the garage again. “Hey, rental guy, didn’t exactly work with a car. Gimme 4 bikes.” Joey said, getting out with the rest of the gang. The rental guy tossed Joey 4 keys, which he handed out to himself, Tristan, Mai and Duke. “Duke and I will ride solo. Mai, Tea’ll ride on the back of yours, and Serenity on the back of yours Tristan. Let’s move. Bakura and Yugi must be getting far away by now.” Mounting his own bike, he revved the engine and sped out, the rest of the gang right on his tail.
Bakura narrowly avoided colliding with an 18 wheeler and cut across the lane into another one. Yugi grimaced as the truck started to beep its horn, and quickly followed Bakura. They danced through the traffic, narrowly avoiding cars and trying to throw one another off beat. Nearing Bakura, Yugi quickly sped up. Now side to side, they quickly tried to run each other into cars or the wall. Behind them, Joey and Duke were catching up quickly, with Mai and Tristan hanging back.
Kaiba and Mokuba quickly boarded the KC Helicopter that was waiting for them. “Follow Yugi and Bakura!” Kaiba shouted to the pilot. The pilot nodded and lifted off, following the trail of Bakura and Yugi. Mokuba started to search for them, eyes darting this way and that. “There!” Mokuba shouted, pointing towards the distant freeway. “Get us over there pilot!” Kaiba yelled, gripping onto the handrail as he leaned out of the helicopter.
Bakura furiously rammed into Yugi’s motorcycle, trying to knock him off. “This is going too far.” Bakura said. Ahead of them was a construction zone, with a ramp truck right in the middle of it. Bakura popped the clutch and sped up, trying to gain speed. Yugi saw the ramp as well, and sped up. Bakura went first, his front wheel hitting the bottom of the ramp, motorcycle roaring as it leapt into the air. Turning while in air, Bakura landed on the other side of the freeway and faced the oncoming traffic. Yugi followed, determined to not lose sight of Bakura.
Joey yelped as he saw Bakura and Yugi’s move. “You feelin up to that Duke?” Joey yelled. “Heck no man! Let’s just follow him on THIS side.” Duke yelled back. Joey nodded and signaled to Mai and Tristan, telling them to keep going. “Be safe Yug.” Joey said.

Chapter 15: Close Call
Yugi and Bakura continued to play their dangerous game of tag. Oncoming traffic saw them and swerved to avoid them. Catcalls and vulgar language were heard behind them as they passed trucks and cars. One truck driver leaned out the window and yelled, “What are you guys, crazy?!” Distracted, the driver didn’t notice that the car in front of him had stopped suddenly. As the truck jackknifed, Bakura and Yugi barely managed to slip by the truck’s large berth.
Yugi chanced a glance back at the accident. Grimacing, he popped the clutch and sped up to catch up to Bakura. Joey and Duke were right on the other side of the short concrete wall separating them. Joey tried to reach out and grab Bakura, but couldn’t reach him. Bakura glanced at him, and then revved the engine. “No way!” Yugi yelled. Bakura then turned into the heavy traffic, swerving and weaving in between cars and trucks to get to the other side. Cars missed him by centimeters, and only Bakura’s skillful piloting of the motorcycle kept him from a certain death. Yugi saw Bakura reach the other side and laugh. Bakura sped up and started gaining distance from Yugi. “Don’t you dare try it Yugi!” Joey yelled. “I have to Joey!” Yugi yelled, and then turned. “NO!” Joey yelled, but it was too late. Yugi was within the traffic, doing exactly what Bakura had been doing. Joey watched him closely, and sighed a huge sigh of relief when Yugi managed to reach the other side.
Yugi managed a slight smile as he came close to Bakura again. Bakura glanced in his side mirror and narrowed his eyes. “How in the….” he thought. Bakura glanced back at Yugi, who happily waved at him, taunting him. Bakura glared and then revved the engine again. Turning into the traffic, he played the dangerous game of keep-away once more. Bakura expertly wove in between the traffic. Suddenly, a horn beeped right in front of him. Bakura looked up and widened his eyes. An 18-wheeler was bearing down at him, and closing fast. Bakura swerved just in time. The 18-wheeler managed to graze his arm, but no harm came of it. Bakura tightened shaking hands on the gas and then carefully made his way over to the other side once more, opposite of Yugi.
Yugi saw Bakura’s close call and shuddered. Popping the clutch, Yugi dove into the chaotic traffic. Making his way carefully through the traffic, he took his time. Joey and Duke were still following Bakura, right next to him, only separated by the concrete wall. As Yugi reached the other side, he saw Bakura reach inside his pocket and throw something at Joey. Joey ducked and the small object that Bakura had thrown at him bounced across the freeway and exploded. Joey, caught by surprise, eased away from Bakura. Yugi glared at Bakura and sped up. “No one tries to hurt my friends.” he said quietly.
As Yugi finally caught up with Bakura, he turned sharply to the left of him, then rammed straight into the back wheel of Bakura’s motorcycle. Bakura swerved and tried to keep his motorcycle under control. Managing to do so, but just barely, he dove into the traffic once more. Weaving through the traffic at over 100 mph, Bakura grimaced as he saw the oncoming traffic traveling at 60 mph. Safely reaching the other side, he popped the clutch happily.
Yugi dove into the traffic as well, going even faster than Bakura had been going. Dodging a truck, he turned into another lane. Bakura suddenly screeched his brakes and swiftly pulled a 180 degree turn with his motorcycle. Turning into an exit off the freeway, he triumphantly pumped his fist into the air. Yugi saw his maneuver and tried to do so too, but didn’t succeed. His motorcycle caught on its edge and flipped, throwing Yugi into the air. Time seemed to slow. Yugi saw Joey, with his hand out, trying desperately to catch his friend even though he was so far away. He saw Mai and Tea, with tears in their eyes. Starting to descend from the peak of his throw, he turned towards the black asphalt which would soon be stained red. He suddenly heard a peculiar noise, and then felt something grab his arm and yank, saving him from a certain death.
“Gotcha!” Kaiba said, straining as he kept his grip on Yugi’s arm. Mokuba signaled to the pilot and told him to land. The pilot pushed the stick right and passed over Joey and Duke. Hovering slightly above a parking deck, Kaiba let go of Yugi’s arm, who landed in a crouch. As the KC Helicopter landed, Joey, Duke, Mai/Tea, and Tristan/Serenity’s motorcycles pulled into the parking deck. Tea immediately jumped off Mai’s motorcycle and pulled Yugi into a tight hug, clutching his shirt and sobbing. Yugi stroked her head and said to the rest of the gang as they moved in, “He’s gone.”

Chapter 16: A Recognition
Bakura screeched to a halt after an hour of driving south from Cairo. Wiping sweat from his brow, he slowly got off his bike and promptly threw up. “That was too close….way to close.” he said after wiping his mouth off. “That little chase almost cost me my life. But….it WAS fun.” Grinning, he leapt back onto the bike with a renewed energy and started south again. “Yugi’s stash of money will most likely be in the Valley of the Kings, where his other half, the Pharaoh, was buried.” Laughing, he sped up.
“Yugi, you alright?” Mokuba asked tediously. Yugi answered, “I’m fine Mokuba. Thank you Kaiba. You saved my life.” “Please Yugi, I don’t need your thanks. I did it just so KaibaCorp wouldn’t be shut down.” Kaiba said, miffed. “Close call Yug” Joey said, patting Yugi on the back. Yugi grinned for a second but then became serious once more. “We have to find out where Bakura’s going. He’s bound to go after the money.” Yugi said. “No worries Yugi.” Kaiba replied. “Before I left, I ordered 2 of my bodyguards to trail Bakura. They’ll report in at anytime now to see if Bakura has stopped or not.” Yugi and Joey grinned, while Tristan gave out a whoop! “Quick thinking Kaiba.” Yugi said. “What do you expect? I’m CEO of KaibaCorp.” Kaiba said, turning around and heading back into the helicopter. A whooshing sound overhead alerted Yugi that Industrial Illusion’s own helicopter had arrived. Yugi and the gang piled into the helicopter and followed the KC one.
Bakura came to a halt outside a small village. Dismounting his bike, he slowly strode in. A surprised expression came onto his face. “I know this place….” Bakura murmured to no one in particular. “This is where my father bought the Millenium Ring….” Walking through the village’s busy market, he gaped around and turned every which way. Seeming like a fascinated child, Bakura began to explore the village, not even noticing his Millenium Ring glowing.
Shadi gasped as a young man with white hair strode by him. His Millenium Key told him that the person in front of him was indeed dangerous. His Millenium Scale shone as well, and Shadi knew that this young man also had a very dark spirit. Ducking down in the crowd, he quickly made his way to a secret trapdoor, and went inside the dark tunnel. “That young man….he was wearing the Millenium Eye. HE must be the one that stole it from Pegasus!” Shadi exclaimed. Running deeper into the tunnels, he disappeared into the shadows.
Yugi’s earphone crackled, then he heard Kaiba’s voice. “Yugi, my team just reported in. Bakura’s stopped at a small town right outside the Valley of the Kings. My men are trailing him as best they can, but the crowds in the market are thick.” Yugi tapped his microphone on his radio, then answered, “Don’t worry about it. Tell your men to stand down. We know where he’s at now.” Kaiba replied with an “Understood” and then turned to switch channels on his radio. Duke asked to Yugi, “What’s the name of the village?” and Yugi relayed the question to Kaiba. Kaiba answered with “Kurelna” then switched channels. Duke sighed and then told Yugi, “That’s where the money is.” Yugi nodded and told the pilot to speed up. “Let’s hope we can catch him before he gets to the money then.” Yugi told the gang gravely.

Chapter 17: The Death of Mokuba
Bakura walked around the village, inspecting the shops and touching some items. He shook himself after a while. “I still need to find the money, not to mention that Yugi and the others are still after me…” Striding to the bank, Bakura calmly walked in. Looking around, he didn’t see a single vault with the Industrial Illusion’s logo on top. “Hm…the money must be hidden somewhere else…” Striding back outside, Bakura sat down on a bench near a shop and started to think. His gaze wandered around at the busy market, and at the person selling cards and artifacts brought back from the pyramids. Bakura’s eyes suddenly widened. Behind that man was a trap door in the sand. “Hm…I wonder…” Striding forward, he pushed the man out of the way and opened the trap door. Ignoring the man’s remark, he laughed. “The stairway into the darkness leads to the tablet of the ancients…” Bakura started walking down the stairs, closing the trap door behind him.
Yugi and the others rushed into the busy market. Looking around, he saw no sign of Bakura. “d***, he could be anywhere in this village!” Yugi cried. “Look, over there! Isn’t that his motorcycle?” Tristan yelled, pointing. Yugi and Kaiba turned and saw the gleaming motorcycle. “Yes, it is, but where is he?” Yugi asked. Kaiba just shrugged. “I told you that my man should have stayed with him.” Kaiba said. “I didn’t want to put your man in danger, Kaiba. You have no idea how dangerous Bakura is.” Yugi said. Kaiba merely shrugged. He suddenly stiffened. “Where’s Mokuba?!” he exclaimed. Joey and Mai looked around. “He was just behind me!” Joey said. “Mokuba? Mokuba!” Mai and Tea yelled. Looking around, none of them saw him. He had disappeared.
Mokuba panted as he ran down the stairs. While the others were busy inspecting Bakura’s motorcycle, Mokuba had seen a flick of white hair out of the corner of his eye. Not wanting to lose the clue, he had run to the place where he had seen the hair. Glancing back, he didn’t have time to warn the others. He told the shopkeeper, who was yelling furiously at how tourists were so rude, to tell his brother about the trap door. He then went down the dark stairs and followed Bakura.
Bakura’s Millenium Eye suddenly glinted and shown in the darkness. Stopping, Bakura concentrated on the warning that his Eye was giving him. A small smile crept onto Bakura’s face. “Ah, Mokuba, you foolish little boy…acting brave, are we? Thinking you can take down me all by yourself, huh? We shall see…” Laughing, Bakura disappeared into the shadows of the hallways. “I do hope your brother won’t miss you much…” Bakura said, grinning.
Yugi suddenly heard a voice cry out his name. “Yugi! Joey! Wow, the whole gang is here!” Yugi turned and saw Marik Ishtar, Ishizu Ishtar and Odion walking towards them. Yugi waved at them. “What are you guys doing here in Egypt, Yugi?” Marik asked. “We’re following Bakura.” Yugi answered. Ishizu and Odion narrowed their eyes. Marik just crossed his arms. “The King of Thieves is causing trouble again, I presume?” Ishizu asked. “Yes and now Mokuba has disappeared as well.” Kaiba said. Odion pointed at a disgruntled shop keeper. “Perhaps he knows something we do not.” Odion said. “Good idea, Odion.” Joey said. They ran over to the shop keeper. “Hey, you there! Have you seen a short kid with black hair by any chance?” Tristan asked. “No, I’ve only seen rude tourists push me around like I’m nothing!” the shopkeeper yelled, still angry. Yugi sighed, and then looked straight into the man’s eyes. “Tell us the truth. Have you seen the boy?” The shopkeeper swallowed and then answered in a trembling voice, “Y-y-yes…he and a guy with white hair went down that trapdoor…” Yugi and the gang turned and saw the trapdoor that the shopkeeper was pointing at. Marik and Ishizu’s eyes both widened. “That is where the ancient tablet of Kurelna is kept…the place where the Millenium Items are to be returned.” Ishizu and Marik said at the same time. “That’s also where the money is hidden, Yugi.” Duke said. Yugi nodded. “Then we must go in there and see what Bakura is up to.” Opening the trap door, he saw a long stairwell descending deep into the darkness of the earth. “The stairway of darkness leads to the tablet of the ancients…” Yugi said, recalling something that he had read once. Grabbing a torch, Yugi and the others ran down the stairs, calling out Mokuba’s name.
Mokuba shivered slightly. The air down here was cold and damp. His fingers trembled as he held on to the emergency flashlight he always kept with him. Glancing around, he saw many hieroglyphics and ancient drawings on the walls. Turning his attention back to the hallway, he cautiously walked onward. Suddenly, out of a side hall that he had not noticed, a hand holding a dagger snapped outward. Mokuba didn’t even have time to scream. The dagger plunged deep into his chest, buried up to its hilt. Bakura walked out of the hallway and yanked the dagger out of Mokuba’s chest. Mokuba struggled for breath. His lung had been pierced. Looking up at Bakura with pleading eyes, he coughed up mounds of blood. Bakura watched with distanced interest. Mokuba’s eyes rolled up into his skull and he collapsed on the ground, still struggling for breath. His last thoughts raced through his mind. “Brother…I’m sorry…” With another attempt at breath, Mokuba finally closed his eyes and died.

Chapter 18: Confrontation Approaches
Yugi ran on ahead, calling out Mokuba’s name. “Mokuba! Mokuba, yell if you can hear me!” The others behind him were doing the same thing, and only deadly silence answered them. Suddenly Kaiba gasped and clutched at his heart. “Something…..something’s wrong….Mokuba….he’s….” Suddenly, Kaiba ran past Yugi at a dead sprint. “Mokuba, I’m coming!” Kaiba yelled. Yugi and the group sprinted to catch up to Kaiba. As the shadows swallowed Kaiba, Yugi called out a warning to him. “Be careful, Kaiba! We don’t know where Bakura is!” Kaiba didn’t reply though. His brother needed him. He could feel it.
Bakura glanced around at the enormous room he had just entered. A long stairwell descended to the floor of the chamber, and in the center of this chamber was a statue. Behind the statue, out of place in this seemingly ancient chamber, was a steel vault with the Industrial Illusions logo on the face of the door. Bakura laughed. “Well…I get both the things I want at the same location. The money to take down Yugi, and the statue of the Millenium Items. Now all I need to wait for is the Pharaoh…and he will come.” Bakura descended the long stairwell and stopped at the foot of the stairs. His Millenium Eye glowed and Bakura sensed a presence in the chamber. “Ah…so this is where you’ve been hiding all along, Shadi.” Bakura said, glancing to his right. Shadi stepped out of the shadows. “You…it seems that destiny brought us together once again, King of Thieves.” Shadi said with a little nod. “Yes, and it seems that I have come for the same purpose once again. How does it feel being a dead man, Shadi?” Bakura asked with a sneer. “Why don’t you ask yourself that question, Thief? We are both spirits wandering this world. You killed me a thousand years ago, thief. Now I can rest in peace.” Shadi answered. Bakura grinned. “Didn’t you notice, all those years, that you missed a very important detail?” Bakura asked. Shadi looked confused and then widened his eyes when his gaze fell to the Millenium Ring that Bakura wore. “But…that’s not possible! The Millenium Ring is right here!” Shadi said, bewildered. He walked over to the Millenium Statue and held up the Millenium Ring. Bakura laughed a crazed look in his eye. “Fool! A thief stole the real Ring years ago, and was purchased by my father! That trinket you hold in your hand is just a replica.” To prove his point, Bakura’s Millenium Ring glowed and the one in Shadi’s hand exploded into a thousand pieces. “No…I have been deceived! Why could I not have prevented this! Fate has transpired against me!” Shadi said eyes hopeless. “Yes…and now Fate shall leave you to rest in the afterlife, forever tormented to the fact that you have aided me greatly.” Bakura said, reaching for Shadi.
Yugi heard a scream from far off and felt his blood go cold. “Hurry!” he told the others. Suddenly he halted. In the middle of the hallway was Kaiba, on his knees and sobbing. He was holding something in his arms. Yugi squinted in the darkness, and then gasped when he saw the figure in Kaiba’s arms. “Mo-….Mokuba?” Yugi said, shocked to the core. “Oh no…” Tea said, turning away from the horrible sight and burying her face in Yugi’s shoulder. “He’s…he’s gone!” Joey said, tears forming in his eyes as he knelt by Kaiba. “Kaiba…” Duke said, placing a hand on his shoulder. Kaiba just stared at his dead brother’s face, tears streaming from his eyes. Marik and Ishizu glanced at each other, and Mai went over to Joey and knelt by him. Odion just stared resolutely ahead, remembering how it was to lose someone he loved dearly. Yugi wiped tears out of his eyes then hardened his gaze. His Millenium Puzzle glowed, and Yugi felt the familiar consciousness of the Pharaoh enter his mind. “We must stop Bakura now. He has gone too far.” Yami said inside Yugi’s head. “Yes, and I will show him no mercy this time.” Yugi said. Yami spoke up, saying, “Yugi, vengeance is not the way. We have to have a clear mind if we are to bring justice to Bakura.” Yugi glanced at Yami and then nodded. “Understood.” The Millenium Puzzle shone again and Yugi and Yami became one. “You all stay here. Kaiba needs reassuring from this tragedy.” Yugi said, allowing Tea to slip out of his arms as he walked past the group. “Where are you going?” Marik asked, recognizing the Pharaoh in Yugi’s features. “To stop Bakura once and for all.” Yugi answered, disappearing into the darkness. Marik and Ishizu exchanged glances once more and then knelt by Kaiba.
Bakura grinned as he opened the lock to the Industrial Illusion’s vault. “Finally, Ryou shall have his revenge, and I shall have mine.” Bakura said. He walked into the vault and began stacking money into 3 separate suitcases. Bakura’s eye glowed as soon as he started stacking money. “Ah…found your brother, have we, Kaiba?” Bakura said with a grin. He continued to stack the money and closed the suitcase after all the money was inside. Taking all three suitcases, he walked out of the vault and closed the door, awaiting the Pharaoh.
Yugi approached the room where light emitted from. Suddenly his Puzzle glowed and he had a flashback. Yugi could see himself, as the Pharaoh, walking towards this same exact room, with guards at his back. The memory faded and Yugi shook himself. Walking into the light, he glanced around. Around him was a large chamber, with the Industrial Illusions vault on the main floor and a statue in the center. Yugi’s eyes widened. This statue had the shapes of the Millenium Items within it, and a long-dead Pharaoh gazed upwards at the ceiling. Yugi took out of his pocket the Millenium Necklace and hug it from his neck, then grasped the Millenium Rod strapped to his waist. Yugi stared to descend the long stairwell, looking around for Bakura. When he reached the bottom, he stopped and crossed his arms. A sneering voice spoke up, saying, “Welcome, Pharaoh, to the last place we will ever battle on.”

Chapter 19: The Beginning of the End
Bakura calmly stepped out of the shadows in which he had been hiding. “I hope you’re up for a good duel, Yugi. Because when I’m through with you, your Millenium Items will be mine and your soul shall be in the Shadow Realm for all eternity.” Bakura laughed maliciously and unpacked a suitcase, taking out a duel disk. Strapping it on his arm, he grinned at Yugi. “Ready to start, Yugi?” Bakura asked with a sneer. Inserting his deck, he crossed his arm in a victorious manner.
Yugi’s anger built as he watched Bakura. This man had killed Mokuba, shedding innocent blood. Yugi couldn’t take it anymore. “Bakura, you @%#. How could you kill Mokuba?! He was innocent, and you slaughtered him without a second thought. Your fight is with me, Bakura.” Yugi inserted his own deck and prepared to duel. Suddenly he felt someone brush past him and charge at Bakura. “What…Kaiba, NO!” Yugi called out. Kaiba drew his arm back and prepared to punch Bakura.
Bakura calmly watched Kaiba approach. “Some people just don’t learn…” he said with a grin. Bakura closed his eye and took a deep breath. Kaiba neared him and thrust his arm forward towards Bakura’s face. The Millenium Ring glowed and Kaiba stopped suddenly, frozen stiff. Only his eyes moved, Bakura opened his eye and grinned. “Dealing with your brother’s death, are we?” Bakura said with a smirk. “You’ll soon be with him, don’t worry.” Kaiba glared hatefully at Bakura. The rest of the gang quickly ran up behind Yugi. “Sorry Yug, but he just sorta suddenly popped up and ran.” Joey said, trying to catch his breath. “What’s up with him?” Mai said. “He’s just…standing there.” Yugi snarled and answered tersely, “Bakura’s used his Millenium Ring to freeze him.” Bakura laughed and then pointed at the group. “That’s not all, Yugi. Prepare for the ultimate duel of your life.” Bakura’s Ring glowed again and all of Yugi’s friends screamed then slowly disappeared. Yugi gasped, then screamed at Bakura, “What have you done with them?!” Bakura grinned then shrugged. “I merely inserted them into certain cards in their decks, Yugi. Now you get to play with all your friends as monsters.” Bakura laughed and then pointed at Yugi. “Now let’s get this duel started” Bakura said, the Shadow Realm enveloping them.
Yugi grimaced as the Shadow Realm enveloped them. “I have to win…or else the world will be destroyed by Bakura’s insanity.” Yugi said to the Pharaoh. Suddenly the Pharaoh felt Yugi being forcefully ripped from his body. Yugi screamed and then closed his eyes. When he opened them he was staring at two Bakura’s. He looked to his left and saw the Pharaoh there. “Wha-…what’s going on?” Yugi asked. Bakura (Yugi could tell it was the spirit of the Millenium Ring) laughed and said, “This is our Shadow Game, Yugi. Each of us duels, including our inner selves. This will be a tag team duel, with me and Ryou versus you and the Pharaoh. So, while you have to worry about your friends, you also have to worry about your partner. If he loses, you lose.” Bakura grinned and then pointed at the Pharaoh. “Since he is royalty, he can go first.” Bakura said.
The Pharaoh narrowed his eyes. “I have to protect Yugi from coming into any harm…I’d never forgive myself if something happened to him.” he said silently. “We have to trust in ourselves…and in the heart of the cards, if we are to defeat this evil.” Yami looked at Yugi and nodded. Yugi nodded back at him and set himself. The Pharaoh put a hand on his deck and closed his eyes. “Heart of the cards…guide me.” Drawing the card, Yami opened his eyes. “Let’s finish this, King of Thieves!”
