Title: Sasuke Samurai. How Do You Pronounce His Name?

Tom - February 14, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
Okay, so this is a stupid little argument i came up with. I've been debating with how you pronounce his name. Commonly people where i play pronounce it as sa-SOO-key. However, after giving it thought, and listening how some japanese pronounce their names, I have come to beleive it is pronounces SAS-kay.

Stupid, no?

Even so, give your thoughts on this little samurai's name.

Well yusuke is pronounced YOOSE-KAY so I imagine susuke is pronounced SOOSE-KAY. so both of urs are incorrect I think, just MO BTW. SOOSE-KAY.

Chris89 - February 15, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)

A friend of mine, Kagami, likes to buy lots of CDs with the characters talking in there...She told me that for some reason Sasuke was pronounced "sas-kay" (or, more like, "sas-keh")...Seems that a lot of Japanese names are pronounced differently from the way they are spelled.

Newzfoxjr - March 6, 2005 06:26 AM (GMT)
Aw, I was wrong. :(

Well, that's weird, and it changes my whole view on Naruto. >_>!

Tyrin Claw - March 6, 2005 06:44 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I thought it was "sas-ooh-kay" for a long time until I started watching Naruto and learned it was "sass-keh"! :/

^^ Your whole view? o_O;;

My friends teach me a lot when I ask about Japanese stuff...They're obsessed with learning Japanese and singing Japanese songs....(like the W-inds band...I do like Taeika Tachibana though, he looks good)

It is Sah su Ke. normally people hear it differently but it is pronounced Sah-su-ke. The su Is kanda hard to hear but if you listen carefully youll hear it. Im Asian so I would know. Besides, one of my firends name is Sauke so I would know

^ There is an EDIT button!! Do not triple or double or quadruple or whatever the **** post!! :)

Actually, I've heard it pronounced, and it is indeed Sas-keh, not Sasoo-ke or whatever. You're not the only Asian here, I am Asian as well.
