Buy Rafale mate, you'll have what to counter F-35 tenfold.....

Its a thought...and after having a pro greek Sarkozi on our site...i gues we will follow your advise...
But...
2 days ago...Merkel came to Athens...and was somehow pressing about the Typhoon..
we will see...

Forget Typhoon, you'll have a much higher level of commonality with weapons and ground systems by staying with Dassault, more to it, HAI is well involved in the nEUROn programme which is a good thing for the Greek Aerospace inductry.

OK here is a brief translation:
""Wolf... with hunting ground the Aegean:"
Gives a little history of the Miraze, how it has developed over 20 years, how well it has served out AF with high quality and capabilities... Speaks of the radar that is faster than the F-15's. It it can analyticaly map terrain with impressive acuracy. It can find 24 targets, 8 of which are prioritized and tracked on screen, while at the same time the battle system processes the fireing and control of the shot at 4 simultanious targets with MICA. The AC can serve as multi-role, with AG cap, and can ferry the SCALP. SCALP is a VERY imortant weapon, so much so that the US does not want to sell to us, and the US and Turks asked them not to be sold to us. The French as good friends, equip us with systems better that those they export to anyone :friendship:
In short, it seems that this article is a nice overview of the systems and weapons of this classic, proven plane, rather than announcing any breaking developements. Great article in support of this fine bird  It seems the AF cant get enough of the -5mkII's. They win alot of support here. Those people are also going to want Rafale. If the French give us the right deal, they will have a great order soon, hopefully...

stardust ...
French Tech...(allkind and sort) are amazing...But unfortunatly very very expensive...also often problematic in spare parts...
and the French arent the best partners (in matters of money you know)
IMO...i would never buy another aircraft except the Mirage back than...
unfortunatly...political pressures(foreign)..were /still is enormous in greece...
so our militarys knows to handle with the problem...but has not the 100% in matters of dessisions..

I was reading in another forum that Greece will activate its option for 3 more
mirage 2000-5mk2 after the election, according to information coming from
France.

It's a pitty that these articles aren't available in english.
Thermopyles - August 30, 2007 04:29 PM (GMT)
You mean the scanned article above, or some french articles that relate to the option of 3 more MKII?
I provided a summary translation... If there are any specifics you would like to see if they addres, just ank me and I'll see if they say anything about it. Its mostly a history and overview, and I'm sure your knowledge is far past what the article sais
Cheers,

@Thermopyles
Thanks for the proposal. My knowledge ain't that great i just have a good research skill that's all, after all i left the AdA long ago for the rest it's all about home work...
I'd just like to read as an enthusiast about the stories around the realtionship between the Mirage 2000 and their pilots in Greek service.
The few articles i got about the Fench were quiet positive but i never can get enough. Thanks anyway...
