I wonder that this forum has a lot of turkish members and this sentence is normal for everyone?
We finished ottoman empire?
And i wonder again,for example if at 30'th august,one turkish member write
"we finished megalo idea dream etc"
These are normal behaviours for this forum?Really wonder that.

What did you expect to see? Oh no it is the 25th of march again,the day we Greeks made the worst mistake in our history to liberate our selves from the loving Turks? For gods sake...Some things are self explained...And yes i personally dont care how will the ottomans react if i or someone else says we got them butchered that period,that they were/are/will be nothing more than petty mongol servitors who for the last 120 years are butt licking everyone in order to sustain the unsustainable...

I have some ideas about this forum,and i thought about peoples
want to share opinions,talk eachothers etc.
But i saw that here is only fanaticism and subjectivism source,if all member
also think like you.All nations have a history and all of them invade somewhere.
There is no soldier in history and today's world holds their hand some
flowers.With an objective point of view,everyone can see it,but if you have
some glasses what it see only anti-greek badness ,have a good helen day,i say.
All people,turks and helens included,when they invaded somewhere dont behave
like angels.Pls,no more act as angels role,greek history hasn't written with
flowers,all nations' history written by blood,unfortunatelly.
And what i wrote here,it never change any opinion,i know.Blind nationalism
is an illness and one must think himself and the others as human,just human.
Nations,religons,languages, are only separatist objects...
At the end of my sentences,if all forum believe that here is only a place
defend our nations etc ,pls delete my membership,thank you.

Deaf friend this forum has a "level" in comparison to others where for instance the turkish forumers are described as monkeys blahblahblahblah and vice versa.
Generally logic is above fanatisism around here,but there are some matters where one cant behave differently..

By the way we are not called helens,that's a girls name only in plural :D
We are called Hellenes(Ellines) or Greeks you chose :D

I learnt something from you,thanx again.
For about fanaticism etc,this isn't fit for me.
I like greek people,really,interested greek myth,ancient history etc.
But never accept fanaticism about anything...

I think you're misunderstanding. National days celebrating independence are days that will prompt people to exude excessive amounts of pride in their country. That's what the day call's for. No one is doing anything destructive...

As for the original statement:

Friendship with the Turkish nation is 100 percent impossible.

In the Ottoman empire in theory this is how the state worked. The sultan was at the head of the state everyone else under him was technically a subject. More specific most of his important bureacracy were slaves in theory totally loyal to him.

Now in most Europe everyone today has a concept of citizienship where everyone should be provided certain basic rights by the state. The Turks today in 2007 like to pretend that they are citizens like in Western Europe but the reality is different. They pretend they are citizens but act 100 percent like subjects unable to criticize the Turkish state positions and unlike rights granting states like Greece, the Turkish state has lots of lines on history, politics, international law it has made that any self respecting Greek cannot accept.

For all its faults the Greek state as never done anything comparable to immense harm the Ottoman Empire or the modern Turkish state has done to Hellenism.

And about our rights in social life the books u read are like from fansays world ! reality is difrent and things writen is diffrent !

greek and a turkish can be a friend .

but Greek goverment and Turkish coverments can t . <_<

and for war in 1821 they fought well and took their freedom ! if the ottoman used its brain and weapons bettter greeks couldnt be free.
but their will ,preperation was better so they become free. and also they fight with bulgarians and slavs later.

so they dared and they win.
