An Iranian refugee named Sibel Edmonds that used to live in Turkey but moved to United States, became an FBI translator. But she was fired when she dicovered a Turkish spy ring in the Pentagon and other illict activities on the part of the Turkish government that, that FBI department heads wanted hushed up.
They are making a documentary of this whistleblower and her tale called:
Kill the Messenger(Youtube link)
There is
whole blog dedicated to this movie in addition
Sibel Edmonds' official website has a section for this documentary. But more than just the movie this brings up the issue of what lengths the Turkish state goes to have its way in Washington. Turkey hires Public Relations firms, lobbyists, to lobby on its own interests, in addition to the extra legal activities that Edmonds tries to uncover. The Turkish state also calls on American corporations doing major business to use their lobbying assets and uses embassy pressure. On the contrary to this furious activity from Ankara the Greek government is doing no such state lobbying efforts wasting the huge advantages of purchasing 90 Block 52/+, 12 AH-64DHA, etc. The huge power that Lockhead Martin and Boeing could provide if they were denied to Turkish lobbying efforts at the least or at the most become part of a Greek state lobbying effort in Congress and Senate, could deal the dreams of buyuk Turkey a large blow. But instead the Greek political wizards do nothing.
The quickest way to get appraised on this affair is to read the whole Vanity Fair entitled:
An Inconvenient Patriot which delves into some of the derin devlet diaspora loose in America, the secrets they would rather have kept.
