The installation of an IFR probe permits take-off with a lower fuel load and a relatively higher war-load.

Supposing you can refuel them on the air. And we can't.

Actually we can.
We can use (we do actually) the A7/TA7 equiped with the buddy-buddy pods.
Using two pods makes an A7/TA7 able to service 1 or 2 Mirages for maximum operational flexibility.

If we make the necessary configuration to a C130H up to KC130 standards, then we can also use them as air refuel assets capable of servicing just with the internally fitted tank alone 4 Mirages, and maybe up to 6-8 depending on medium mission profile, more likely for the Aegean-Cyprus theatre, by using some of the C130H fuel as well.
Given the capabilities similarity of the C27 with the C130, a future air-refuel capable version could also be an option, especially since all C27 will be fitted with probes similar to the ones Mirages use.
However, for now we can only use the buddy-buddy with the A7/TA7.

HAVE FUN !!!

Yeah I know. I got a nice pic somewhere on my PC of an TA-7 refueling an M2K. But it is not standard practice and the A-7 fleet is at a very bad state despite the hard work of the technical crews in Araxos AB. They are practically retiring them, keeping the ones at flying condition and canibalising the rest.

Edit: I am guessing you have seen those Dutch KC-10s that our F-16s are practising refuelling with over the Ionian sea. Those planes were converted from normal DC-10 airframes by the Dutch AF. Olympiaki had 2 of those that would be easily made into KC-10s by EAB with Dutch help. Guess what HAF did about that. :damn:
