KOKORO, EBMAS stands for the Emin Boztepe Martial Arts System, it aint a new seldefence technique or sytem but exactly what Emin was taught as he was a member of EWTO, European Wing Tsun Organization.
Emin creates a mystic athmosphere of invincibility around his much cherished position in WT world, which me believes he should not do. He braggs too much for a Kampfkuenstler, that is martial artist. I for one believe that noone is invincible. There is something called lucky punch or "lucky treffer" which might knock out anyone anywhere.
Another reality which irks me is that the WT practitioners believe they are invincible as hell and their technique is the best whatsoever. In close combat (yakin dövüs, Nahkampf) that might be claimed though but I guess Judokas Aikidokas and among all wretslers would beg to differ. This is complete bullshit. They dont fight with you (sparring that is) and claim that WT is only for street fights. You see the catch?
They have (by way of logic)unfalsifiable claims. Being the best but when asked to test it, they say "ahhm sorry this is too dangerous", "is for your own safety (thank you idiot, I can take care of myself)".
Another reality is that with WT you cant initiate an attack, you cant really attack a person but make use of WT techniques only in case of an attack to you. They dont have the long distance kicks etc. thet Tae Kwon Do and Karate (among others) have.

more than the other s i would prefer ebmas style than the others.
becasue most other systems are for defending your self . this quite imposible in the real situation . embas has no such thing as we must love the world.
it says best defence is atack. and if u observe today most of people would chose his system .
if u practice judo it is good for ground fight like wrestling but i t doesnt teach any hiting techniques !
if u pactice aikido u learn wrist locks and throwing tecniques. again no hitting.
if u practice mua tai . u learn hitting in any way but it u fall to a ground with a big guy . u have no chance.
embas teaches most of the with basic teachiques depending on being fast and durable.

at the end what u practice what u need. from the exercises i watch embas gives a good solition to most of the situations.
of course the students talents make a diffrence.
i make judo for 1 year and aikido for 8 moths ( judo from ahmet kose oglu and aikido from mustafa hoca) but i can say if u want to see ebmas training Emin boztepe moved to tukey and some times he has workshops with the high rank students. then u must watch them

stay well
Kaan

Kaan I am myself a WT practitioner for two years so accept these infos from an insider.
Another thing is that you should accept the comments and insights of your own instructors with a grain of salt especially those of WT teachers for whom my respect diminishes every passing day. Ground fight is a concept recently introduced into WT, it does not belong to the "real" WT as was practiced by chinese monks, whenever that was :) There prevails the motto " Master does never fall"
OK lets try something new, in your first training you will make some chi-sao drills or else, instructor or the more experienced guy will wait from you a specific action. Do something else, say use some wrestling techniques, cift dal mesela :) ayaklara, i am sure you'll take him by surprise. Choreography enables one to feel invincible but you gotta be prepared for everything in the street.
As far as I am concerned I would opt for a mixture of two martial art synchronizedly, one of them will surely be either kickboxing or muay thai. The other one will be either judo or aikido. See, my tactics is to have some competence to some extent in all distances, a complete package, on every level.

hi,
most of your i deas i accept . but i ı see was emin boztepe make this sytem very good . because when ı was practicing judo if i would fall with a karate guy he had no chance but when we were standing i had no chance . because i was trying to catch him( stupid idea but !!) well judo.
also for aikido if we pass the idea of harmony we are one and we love the world . it works but, if u try in stupid way aikido doesnt work . B)

i been to emin s clases only to watch 3 times never started . because of job. but basicly embas got lot s of answers to lots of situations. mostly in offence.

i have friend there to we ride bike some times in ebmas ( selim karabol ) he advised me this system . he already tried lots of martial arts aikido and karate and kick boxing . basicly likes the system . becase of simplicity and eficency
but the end u practice wt for 2 years if it didnt work u woudnt go ?? :)

kendine iyi bak

derkrieger - March 6, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
Haha Kaan you are brilliant here, nice display of logics basing itself however on a blurred understanding of my earlier remarks. :)
I have never said that WT never ever works. I said actually that it is good in yakin dovus, you remember right? What irks me is the way these WT-guys behave, like they are invincible like guys with classical martial arts backgroung have no chance against them.
I also said ground fight and WT combination is something new for they also noticed that WT is weak in ground fight. Master never falls, my ass. I do kickboxing right now but if I could go on with WT that would be fine as well. I am satisfied with WT but not its practitioners. KB might have its flaws but WT has them too. (like I said long distance fight is impossible also is initiating an attack by using WT techniques )
Bi de WT de tekme kesme hareketi vardir hadi onu 3 yillik bi muay thai'ce yapsinlar da göreyim, hocam hakaten bir yerleri kirilabilir insanin. Cinli bir arkadasim tae kwon do calisirken iki elinin bilekten kirildigini bana hatirlatmisti, hocasinin tekmesini durdurmaya calismis.

Kaan
