Title: To admins...registrations

Koursaros - December 1, 2006 03:01 AM (GMT)
If you check the welcome forum you will see that the two first posters are bots. I think so anyway. Can the admins confirm it? And if it is so, can you add some restriction into registration like validating emails and/or writing a small word in pic?

Indeed!

This post here http://z7.invisionfree.com/worldconflictsf...?showtopic=3461

really seems like a bot to me, or someone who only wishes to promote his website.

I wouldn't be feeling very smart if I was one of the people in the joke of the day thread. Joking with a bot. :P

LOL

I was indeed fooled. :damn:

I never said that I was smart, have I? :naughty:

But you have to admit, that the joke-thread contained only one joke and one link in the signature, so it could have been a real person behind it and not a bot, while in the other thread the message is in so bad english and there are 3*2=6 links in the signature, which makes it even more propable thet there is a bot and not a human posting. :D

:D Koursare, joke is joke :P I know we seem dense, but have some faith... :ph43r:

Koursaros - December 2, 2006 02:23 PM (GMT)
Hehe, just joking people. :P

My bot recognition skillz are highly evolved after years of chatting on yahoo. :P

The new version of bots can give credible answers to many normal chatting questions. In the first couple of times you never realise it is a bot until they drop their link to whatever site.

Follow-up

Have the bots now started sending christmas wishes?

Can a mod perhaps take a look at

Thanks

PS: Suggestion
I do not know if it is technically possible, but perhaps it would be better if new members must enter a random number before their account is activated

sory...but we are going to ban some "members" in the near future...
so dont worry...and take them as a joke...because such kind of posters are jokes..

Koursaros - December 28, 2006 03:30 PM (GMT)
I suggest you use registration control either by email activation or number/letters entering. We got another one, supposedly a german guy from berlin. It is getting tiring.
