Title: Boycott the worldcup!
Kiziroglu - June 9, 2006 04:09 PM (GMT)
Sadly i'm currently in germany...the whole country is in patriotic-football-mood...and the swiss is also there...
the krauts + the FIFA-Mafia = the worst World Cup ever!
I boycott the world cup and won't watch any game... :battered:
For my turkish brothers i hope you will join me...even if the love for football is strong... ;)
Now I'm going to football exile....

123-t - June 9, 2006 08:40 PM (GMT)
To what conclusion would you come
when asked to scrutinize the reasons
of this newly experienced rise in national sentiment ?
Hades - June 10, 2006 04:27 PM (GMT)
123-t has a point... Why such a decision Kiz? Anyway, WC happens every 4 years, am afraid it's difficult to resist watching it...
Kiziroglu - June 12, 2006 11:26 AM (GMT)
First it is not NEW. After the game against the swiss the WC 2006 ended for me.
Secondly after such great hopes from my side there aren't any emotions left for this WC. I would every second while watching a game think about the fault of our own team and the circumstances created by others... i couldn't enjoy any game. What makes it even worse is the fact that in germany our team would had a great atmosphere at every game...its just unfair...unjustice...
beleg - June 12, 2006 11:29 AM (GMT)
If there is any fault dear Kizir its not anyones but ours..
Btw what is World Cup?
Kiziroglu - June 12, 2006 01:36 PM (GMT)
yes we should had pay more to the refree then the swiss... or threaten Blatter to act in a fair way...
beleg - June 12, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Oh come on.. We sucked big time .. Dont blame others.. We shouldnt have lost in Switzerland..
cameleon1975 - June 13, 2006 09:11 AM (GMT)
Do you realize that what you are asking for is impossible?
Its like 2 years that I am waiting for this tournament(after the Euro2004).I would be great if Greece and Turkey were there too but thats life.
Speaking of loosers, some fans from Portugal had a sign on which they have written: Where is Greece? Actually they should be greatful, because they would loose again if we played against them. :bootyshake:
Lord - June 13, 2006 09:39 AM (GMT)
Portugese,,,assholes..lol
But Kizir is right...the Germans ...are getting hysterical...and over exiting...
Eigenlob ist auch ein lob...?
:damn: I thought only we greeks were so exagerating about our "greatness" ...seems the Germans learned quick from us after the Olympics... <_<
Kizir you are right ...i give you that...
so i support any of the "small" teams in this World Cup... and for shure not Germany....
Kiziroglu - June 13, 2006 10:10 AM (GMT)
Cam i know...but it makes one so angry...its grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
and everywhere the german flags...well for other countrys it is "normal" but i get always a strange feeling when i see germans with their flag....maybe for protest i hang the real german flag out of the window...the swastika.. ;) (irony!)
cameleon1975 - June 13, 2006 10:19 AM (GMT)

And here is the greek answer:

Kiziroglu - June 13, 2006 12:24 PM (GMT)

Lets hope that the krauts will leave the competition early.
Best wishes from the frontline :tank: :susel:
Lord - June 13, 2006 12:30 PM (GMT)

ghostface killa - June 13, 2006 03:20 PM (GMT)
The game I liked most till today was Argentina-Ivory Cost.
I'm watching the Brazil game today.
I'm watching like a game every day, can't boycot it's to friggin interesting and it's only once every 4 years.
Cid - June 13, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
Boycotting? no way. The World Cup is always nice to watch.
Like Ghost said, Argentina - Ivory Coast was the most exciting game to watch. Argentina though not playing pretty, is very effective and seems to create the goals out of minimal chances. Ivory Coast has good quality on individual level but needs more teamplay and also more mental aggresiveness, especially their midfield seemed sometimes a bit passive. Also they need to improve on their defence.
Ecuador - Poland was also very nice to watch as well as Germany - Costa Rica. The Germans have some serious issues in their defence, but they are survivors and will probably make it far in the game. I hope the Dutch team will play against them and beat the crap out of them, it would be excellent revenge. But team Orange also has some issues. Their defence isnt well oiled and many of the players lack experience for playing any WorldCup. Van Persie (basis) plays very beautiful but doesnt have the killer mentality that Kuyt (reserve) has. Also Van Nistelrooy didnt perform well against Serbia&Montenegro which can have serious comlications as he is determent to perform.
For the first time I supported the French team, in beating Switzerland. But the French team really sucks. They are so messed you can hardly speak of a French national team, but rather the 11 French players and reserves as there isnt any teamplay. In fact I woudnt be suprised if Togo would somehow beat France.
Not to forget I also liked the game of Czech Republic vs United States very much. Not because I would have any political animosity against the States but rather because the style of the Czechs fascinates me. They keep the balance of the game in favour for their side, by adopting a style of play which involves different paces. They confuse their oppenents by giving them more ball play and control. In term the opponent seems to be controlling the game and creates gapes in their defence in favour of the offence. And when the opponent is adjusted to the slow pace of the Czechs, they suddenly create and offence from the midfield with a high tempo. And afterwards they return back to a slow pace, just waithing to turn up the tempo in a counterattack. As a result they have concentrated offences which are quite effective and also have a de-moralising effect. If their key players keep in good shape, they have good chances.
I am looking forward to actually see Brazil playing, before I will make any comment about them. If they keep an individualistic play, I wonder how well their skills are against teams like Argentina, Czech Republic, Germany and Holland.
PS1 did anyone see the scenes from the Swedish trainings camp where Ljungberg was fighting with another swedish player :hammer:
PS2 The Dutch coatches are doing well; Korea (advocaat) wins, Trinidad & Tobago (Beenhakker) plays a draw against Sweden and Australia (Hiddink) wins for the first time in a WC which also was a quite dramatic win over Japan and ofcourse Holland with Van Basten who continues the tradition of Cruyff and Michels.
Hades - June 14, 2006 07:49 AM (GMT)
I think killa gave the whole meaning... I admire Brazil and would like to see them winning for once more, but am in favour of other teams as well, like Argentina or Czech Republic...
PS. The samba dancers disappointed me yesterday... The whole globe was expecting more than a single goal... :o :o
Hades - June 14, 2006 07:51 AM (GMT)
I will put an add-on in my sig while the WC is on the run... Thanks Cam
Cid - June 14, 2006 08:43 AM (GMT)
Brazil played very poorly. This could be both because most people have high expectations of their playing style or whether they arent fit as a team. Perhaps it could be also because they dont take their first games too seriously; they will pass the poule very easily. So perhaps they see it more like a warming up and will start making efforts later on.
ghostface killa - June 14, 2006 09:16 AM (GMT)
I was dissapointed in Brazil last night. I expected more action, okay they scored but I WAN'T MORE. LOL
Ronaldo was boring. Pulling him out was good.
Roberto Carlos came very near to a goal twice.
Kaka scored nice, but rather was like a ghost. ;)
Ronaldhino a few spectacle actions, but not enough.
If you payed some attention, the Croatians had some very good chances, they were rare but very close.
Very defensive like our Greek friends :P .
Just kiddin.
PEGASUS - June 14, 2006 09:25 AM (GMT)
lets move this talk to the WORLDCUP thread :friendship:
mavrogenides - June 17, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
@Kizir
I don´t know when you were last time in berlin-kreuzberg...but a lot of the döner shops and turkish grocers have a german flag in their windows.
So relax and enjoy the show.... :drink:
Kiziroglu - June 17, 2006 11:32 AM (GMT)
I bet the sharky turks try to make some good business my dear mavro ;)
But i have to admit that it is some years away that i was there...
mavrogenides - June 18, 2006 01:39 PM (GMT)
@Kizir
It is time to realise that a lot of turks in germany really like(if not even love) their second home.
It is not just "sharky buisness" but also real patriotism! :D
The germans are not as bad as some people still like to show them..at least they are the only ones, worldwide, which really learned a lesson from their history.
I really think that the germans are cool...still germans(with a lots of "spießers") but really, really cool people with a wonderfull (most of them) and really openminded youth.
Kiziroglu - June 19, 2006 12:20 PM (GMT)
Sorry mavro but they have not learned at all...believe me. And you can also ask Theo or others who know them...
Of course you have to differentiate...i like many germans but i have to say as a nation they ****. I can identify myself with the german town i life in and the greater region but a connection to germany as a whole ? no way!
PEGASUS - June 19, 2006 12:28 PM (GMT)
KIZIR , totaly right ,i cant say it better ,i love stuttgart and not more, and the germans sometimes okay, and sometimes :battered:
Hades - June 19, 2006 12:50 PM (GMT)
Spinnst Du? :P :P :P Why do you say such a thing, Germans are the most beloved people on earth... :D :D

Dööötschland, Döötschland über alles! Über alles in der Welt !
A small anecdote for you all.
Recently was a movie about the "Wonder of Bern" when germany won 1954 the WC for the first time... in the movie and in the later discussion about it they tried to make a POSITIVE LEGEND for germany...by cutting the truth in parts...
well do you all know which strophe they sung back then when they won??? THE FIRST ONE!
A little hind for those non-germany-guests: The first is the nationalistic one and the third strophe is the official one of (west)germany after 1945...
and 9 years later they scream the nationalistic parole...
another small info: In 1955 a poll showed that 60-70 % of the germans thought back then that the NAZI-system was allright...just the fucking thing with the (lost) war make it bad...such a pity! They had such a great system and only because of a war they lost it !!!! (well we put aside that they started it and that they killed 6 million jews and 50-55 million others...)
And before you say that is nearly 50 years ago...a question for you.
If the fundament of your (democratic) house is bad do you think that the other things can really catch it up ?
just my 2 pfennige...
Lord - June 20, 2006 07:02 AM (GMT)
Yes but you know what...
They are the nation who learnd better than any other from there mistakes....
That we have to grand them...
Iam also like Pegasus said....
I love Sttgt...its my birth town...iam somehow connected to this town...in a weird way...
except the "spiesser" like Mavro said...the rest of the germans are fine people..
comon...
cameleon1975 - June 20, 2006 08:38 AM (GMT)
Baaaah,Frankfurt rules! :applause:
And we have the best football team too! :bricks:
mavrogenides - June 28, 2006 07:01 PM (GMT)
@Kizir
Read this and you will understand what I mean...
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/5118244.stmThe whole world(the whole worlds media and soccer/football fans) allready admit that the germans right now are doing a very great job...not only in organizing but also in matters of tolerance, fun and the greatest and biggest party of this year...
Bow to the krauts!!!
