Title: Champions League and UEFA Cup

I wathed the match Fener - PSV, I congratulate all Fener Fans for the 3-0 victory :applause:
And must say I am very impressed at Fener. It was a good match to watch, they had good ball control especially midfield. They played overall balanced, although the defense sometimes isnt as smooth as it should be. Also Anelka needs to get familiar with the play style. Best players were Alex (scoring twice and giving a pass for another goal) and Serkan (I saw him in the entire length of the field, penetrating the PSV defense countless times just brilliant.

The next match against Schalke 04 is important for them. But Fener must absolutly not underestimate Schalke, they played a draw against AC Milan (did you see the goal of Halil Altintop, it was superb). Schalke still has a chance so they can be dangerous.

As for Cimbom, I can only wait to see her rise again out of the ashes like a phoenix

Bravo for Greece having the Euro Basketball title. Nice play indeed. Nowitzki was great, but he become very tired, so do Mithat Demirel, the playmaker of Turkish origin. Nowitzki is an NBA player, who unlike our jackanapes playing in NBA, did everything he can do, and he's a decent man indeed.

LAst night I was on the side of Olympiakos against Real Madrid, but they couldn't make it.

Tonight go Cim Bom, go, and go Black Eagle go, against Tromso/Norway and Malmö/Sweden...

I wish good luck to Galatasaray, Besiktas, and PAOK. Turks generally support Greek teams, if not of course they're not playing with our own teams.

Clearday-TRForce - September 29, 2005 02:39 PM (GMT)
Maybe, we will make a match with POAK in final. :) Good luck to our Greek friends.

P.A.O.K. is black/white with the byzans double had eagle from byzans thats totaly different with the fans of ouer national team ...

when you visit greek club league games there are not one greek flag on the ranks ,fans suppurt the teams not the greek identiti here in greece...

have i write that PAOK will play friendli mach against FENER, january i thing

beleg - October 17, 2005 08:58 AM (GMT)
Pegasus,
i have guessed that but i have only watched only one game of a Greek team playing against Fenerbahce on club level (there they painted themselves too.. yellow and black? i cant remember but i know we lost:P) thus i dont know very well about the Greek national league.. but i guess its similar to ours :D

I always prefer national games over club ones.. It makes such a bigger festival to watch. all the national feelings poured in to the hearts of the fans. People singing and cheering.. hehe its so cool.. Especially on both sides of the coast of Aegean.. We make such better fans than the British , Italian or the Spanish..

PEGASUS - October 17, 2005 09:31 AM (GMT)
beleg, i think in greece is a little diferent the most high feelings gos to the clubs PAOK,olympiakos ,panathinaikos ,aris,AEK etc. and then to the national team ,you will not see one greek flag when the clubs play , in turkey is diferent they like to show the turkish bakground ,its okay but diferent ..

the game you mean was panathinaikos vs. fenerbahce at the uefa cup ;)

ATHENS, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Panathinaikos coach Alberto Malesani has warned striker Sandor Torghelle he will not play for the club again if he reacts badly to being substituted.

The Hungarian objected to Malesani's decision to replace him with Sotiris Leontiou in the 58th minute of their 0-0 Champions League draw with Barcelona at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday.

"Torghelle's reaction was the only negative aspect of the night," said Malesani.

"It was completely the opposite of (defender) Iannis Goumas who was left out of the squad altogether and caused no problems at all.

"I know the fans like him (Torghelle) but I will be speaking to him about his behaviour. I didn't like it and if he repeats it then he won't play for this club again."

http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/newsArticl...-35_L19474153:1
Malesani said his team had played above expectations to gain a valuable point from the Spanish champions and Group C leaders.

"I think we played very well and in truth sometimes we played beyond our expectations. We played like a team, with discipline and put Barcelona under pressure."

The Italian is proving a master of surprise in his team selection.

In the previous game against Werder Bremen, he introduced several inexperienced youngsters, notably Vangelis Mantzios and Filippos Darlas who both rose to the occasion and kept their places against Barcelona.

His latest surprise was the conversion of former Liverpool midfielder Igor Biscan, who had not played in the first team for a month, to centre back in place of Goumas, who only last week played for Greece against Georgia.

"Biscan was ready for this game and I wanted him there because he is very quick and we needed quick players," said Malesani.

"He played very well, in fact he may have found a new role tonight. I always thought the new players like Biscan and (Flavio) Conceicao would take time to settle but people in Greece are not very patient."

ATHENS, Oct 18 (Reuters) - Barcelona's impressive winning start to their Champions League campaign came to a halt on Tuesday when they were held to a goalless draw by Panathinaikos at the Olympic Stadium.

The result leaves Barcelona top of Group C with seven points from three games. Panathinaikos are second with four along with Udinese who drew 1-1 with Werder Bremen.

In a game that was full of running, tough tackling and end-to-end action, neither side was able to find a winner.

Samuel Eto'o came closest for Barcelona but was twice denied by Mario Galinovic and late on failed to find the net from a tight angle after rounding the Panathinaikos goalkeeper.

Panathinaikos had showed from the start they had no intention of being overawed by the visitors with a series of biting tackles that earned a yellow card for Sandor Torghelle.

Vaggelis Mantzios drew a good save from Victor Valdes in the Barcelona goal while Ronaldhino was kept quiet at the other end by an excellent defensive performance from Loukas Vintra.

The second half, which produced a deafening chorus of boos and whistles from the crowd whenever Barcelona began to string together a sequence of passes, was equally hard-fought with Eto'o causing the most problems.

Mark van Bommel was fortunate not to get a red card for a bad challenge but his yellow card rules him out of the return match in Spain on Nov. 2. Panathinaikos midfielder Anthony Seric will also miss the game after picking up another yellow.

Stupid Fener  :hammer:

I didnt see the match against Schalke. I only heard they played a draw 3-3. Dont tell me they give away a 3-0 advantage.

beleg - October 20, 2005 10:03 AM (GMT)
well not.. 1-0 first half, 2 great chanches missed by nobre
second half they played very bad 15 mins and result 1-2..

Then a great score by nobre 2-2..

We were pressing well and recovered and a very very stupid goal thanks to volkan. he missed the ball .

then 3-3 by apiah..

The rain was enormous and effected the play style of our players badly.. But not an excuse.. We should and could have won...

Picard - October 20, 2005 10:56 AM (GMT)
I can't believe Nobre really wasted that opportunity. :damn:
