Title: J or K dramas you watch?

Sal - October 3, 2005 10:05 PM (GMT)
I only remember really enjoying a J-drama of several office ladies at a big company who take care of omake jobs, they're really competitive with the secretaries and it's hilarious. I dont know what it's called tho...

As for K-dramas, my mom watches more than I do XD

animeangel - October 3, 2005 11:40 PM (GMT)
I started watching a few J-dramas (because some of the jpop artists I liked were in them)....I think I watched a bit of Deep Love and Gokusen 2

yuwing - October 4, 2005 01:17 AM (GMT)
densha otaku, GTO <-- only two series i watched. recommend me some more (comedy, romance only)!

i dont' watch kdrama, but i do watch a bit when my dad watches it on chinese channel... its something about this girl who works as the king's cook or something.

dooly - October 4, 2005 01:38 AM (GMT)
i've seen a few j-dramas and k-dramas

just finished watchign gambatte ikkikmashoi (j-drama), pretty decent, about highschool girls rowing team

other j-dramas i've seen/watching include gto, gokusen, orange days, densha otoko, pride, moto kare, etc

meh most of the dramas are nothing spectacular but entertaining non the less

for live action stuff, i suggest j and k-movies...much better stuff

i'll be more than happy to recommend some if any ones interested

Sal - October 5, 2005 05:46 AM (GMT)

Oh ya big-long-gold's HOT right now! Everyone's obsessed with it.

I saw GTO a long time ago. I remember it being pretty damn good.

Sal - October 5, 2005 08:02 PM (GMT)
The last character in Dae-jang-geum doesn't mean "gold" :P And yea, everyone in Hong Kong was obsessed over it.

Cindy - October 5, 2005 08:28 PM (GMT)
so j-drama = japanese drama and k-drama = korean drama?
what's chinese drama then? c-drama?
and english drama? a-drama?
and british would be b-drama
ooooooo

what does i-drama in general stand for?
(see this is why we should have a q&a section)

Douglas Wong - October 5, 2005 10:25 PM (GMT)
Jdramas have awesome OSTs:)
Long Vacation, With Love, Love Generation etc etc....

ohhh my mistake, i think it's supposed to be a j in front of the drama there...just looks like an i cause there's the link line under and all.....

o.O;; you must think im crazy

but that would be incorrect
and also judgemental

Woot woot! That's the most amazing show =D
Cooking and healing...what am amazing character the main character is *nods*
I watch it on TVB on weekends and I think the chinese voices they used for the characters are well suited XD

pacman99 - October 6, 2005 09:58 AM (GMT)
i still have to watch GTO :(

Watch the first few eps of Jang Geum in koreaannn (with subs). I shouldn't be saying this cuz i'm a guy but..........little jang geum is soooo cute hehe. yes i still stop being gay now :)

Oh i just started At Dolphin Bay (c-drama..taiwanese actually) to help me learn mandarin a bit faster (stupid EAS..all they talk about is "hi, my name is Libo, Di Libo. Nice to meet you. Would you like to go swim now? Sure let's go!") but it's actually pretty good. So what if the main actress doesn't look that great heh.
It's about a boy and a girl who I guess love each other when they're kids, get separated, lead normal lives, and then try to find each other.

Sal - October 6, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
I've heard of that :D
Living in Hong Kong is like receiving these culture from all sides :P

shirl - November 3, 2005 06:25 AM (GMT)
dae jang geum...watched it!!! I luff jang geum's voice in korean....*_* So like her chara's personality. But personally, I prefer J-drama to K-drama.
Hm....I've watched some really old J-dramas that they had running on TV like GTO and Kinichi and uh.............oh yeah With Love and stuff like that. Deep Love is soooooo sad!!!!! I just watched a few episodes though. OMG, that show makes me so angry at all the perverted ppl in the world. I've watched some really old K-dramas too, again, stuff that they used to run on TV. I would rent J-dramas to watch but I wouldn't know what to rent, so yup, stick to movies and anime XD. ^_^

Oh yeah, big fan of HK dramas and Taiwanese dramas are ok, especially stuff they adapt from mangas!!! Meteor Garden, lmao....the sequel sucked cuz they chose not to stick to Hana Yori Dango...BIG MISTAKE...but it seems like Taiwanese really love making drama series from JP manga!

chaco - November 25, 2005 05:37 AM (GMT)
I just watched the first episode of 1 Litre of Tears in Japanese class today. It's a poignant story about a girl who has brain damage. The drama is based off of her diary which she kept until her death. >_< The prologue is so depressing.

It has Ryo from Kanjani8 in it. :D

dooly - November 25, 2005 05:59 AM (GMT)
Waiting for new episodes for

Lunch Queen, Queen of the classroom, nobuta wo produce, and moto kare (dvd quality)

chaco - November 25, 2005 07:52 AM (GMT)
omggg watched 3 eps of 1 litre of tears. SOOOOOOO GOOOODDD. >_____<

I have found a new fav j-actor. Naohito Fujiki = hot. really, really hot.

yuwing - November 25, 2005 04:35 PM (GMT)
i finished ep 6 (found on jpopsuki)
yah the doctor's pretty adult hot :)

i can't believe it has such low ratings T_T. this jdrama makes me cry each ep!

chaco - November 26, 2005 11:47 PM (GMT)
I finished watching all the episodes of Antique, a j-drama with Naohito Fujiki (hawt doc from 1 litre) and Tackey!! *_____* OMG I love this j-drama. So funny. XD Kage's actor is so great! He looks like yakuza yet is a really soft type of guy. XD XD XD The Boss somehow reminds me of Atobe. HMM. Hawt doc is now hawt confectionary chef.

Satsuki Shizuka - November 27, 2005 07:23 PM (GMT)
Thanks to DC++, I now watch the TW drama "Itazura na Kiss" (To use the original name, manga by Tada Kaoru).

Yes, old manga. Yes, old-school storyline. Yes, old design.
And yes, I have no life -_-b

* Ichi Ritoru no Namida - definately a good story line, and made me cry on a couple of occasions. The theme song is awesome too - Only Human by K.

* Brother Beat [ブラザー☆ビート] - good comedy and eye candy to match. Def Tech sound track is off the hook too.

* Konya Hitori no Beddo de [今夜ひとりのベッドで] - typical soap drama theme to it, with people sleeping with people etc. But I like it. Music in the back ground is pretty good too...still working on the soundtrack though.

* Nobuta wo Produce [野ブタ。をプロデュース - definately was a good watch...by the way is there more to come, or was that the final of the series???

Off the topic, my interests grew in watching the dramas mainly because a lot of them have good soundtracks.

chaco - January 24, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
I'm starting on Yoshitsune, a taiga drama starring Takki. It's about the descendents of the Minamoto clan (Seiwa Genji) vs the Heike. :) It has history AND Takki. <3

animeangel - January 25, 2006 05:36 AM (GMT)
Im currently finishing up Gokusen (well I'm on the last ep) and OMG Hiroki Narimiya is so cute XD I luff him~

And and I finished Nobuta wo Produce and Hana Yori Dango
And I'm currently starting Dragon Zakura (with Koike Teppei!!! <33) XD

Carmen - January 26, 2006 09:50 PM (GMT)
Some of my friends have recommended Long Vacation to me... though I have no idea what the plot is about... but I have the CD at home and love the music (funny thing is that it was actually my mom that bought the CD even tho she had no idea that it was from a jdrama... she just thought it sounded nice... hehe, guess we have similar tastes) Piano music is always nice...

Can't seem to find an episode on DC++... Does anybody have the first episode and would like to lend it me? I would kindly appreciate it! ^_^

chaco - January 26, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
finished Gokusen now XD;;; finished it in 2 days. XD;;; now I'm starting Kimi wa Petto because that's available on the hub. :3;;; I think I'll have to give up on Yoshitsune. u_u

Lord_Jecks - January 27, 2006 07:34 AM (GMT)

shinji-kun - January 29, 2006 06:30 AM (GMT)

Currently watching some old Kdrama titles (Love Letter; Sorry, I Love You, Full House)

But there is this one KDrama that I really really really want to get my hands on /w subs. I've been looking for Rainbow Romance . The last couple of times I tried to download, it had no subs :(

dooly - January 29, 2006 06:56 AM (GMT)
Isn't that a sitcom? I see it playing on the korean channel that my parents subscribe to

Ooh there was this old Korean sitcom I used to like, about this maternity clinic and the people involved in running it, and the family of these people.

Leina - February 1, 2006 05:55 AM (GMT)
Oh my gosh. J and K dramas are the new thing I'm in love with right now =P

Recently, I finished watching Hana Yori Dango (JDrama), and Meteor Garden (KDrama). Right now, I'm watching Gokusen (JDrama) and Mamalade Boy (KDrama). I'm downloading Kimi Wa Petto (JDrama) and It Started With A Kiss (KDrama).

I'm mostly into romance and/or comedy stuff ^-^ Oh, and if anyone is interested, there's this livejournal site that gives member links to directly download lots of different (possibly obscure) titles:

animeangel - February 1, 2006 06:28 AM (GMT)
Gokusen and HYD are awesome!
I'm downloading Kimi wa petto tooo....more MatsuJun! XD

ooo...Maramalade boy is a Kdrama? is it similar to the manga/anime for Marmalade boy?

Is it Soon Poon Cinic? Or something like that. It was pretty funny.

Sal - February 1, 2006 04:59 PM (GMT)
Yea that. The little girl is like the best thing about this show.

moomoochan - February 2, 2006 03:02 AM (GMT)
great drama series that don't centralize around romance:
Gokusen
1 Litre of Tears (a truly inspiring story)

and Anego (Akanishi Jin in a business suit and getting constant rejections xD).

...
I really wanna see GTO X3
