Title: Nodame Cantabile

Synopsis from: Jdorama: Nodame Cantabile

Noda Megumi, or "Nodame," is a piano student at Momogaoka College of Music. Although she is an extremely talented pianist who can play by ear, she can't read music. She also hates to take a bath or clean her room. For her daily meals, she usually grabs something out of her friend's lunchbox.

Nodame soon falls in love with Momogaoka's top student, Chiaki Shinichi. Born into a musical family, he plays the piano and violin brilliantly. Although his major is piano, he has secret ambitions to become a conductor.

Based on the big hit comic book by Tomoko Ninomiya, this is the romantic comedy of two completely different personalities.

I actually didn't like this Jdrama, because the first two episodes were slightly boring, but being a piano player, and classical music lover myself, once they started to get more into the plot and playing of awesomesauce music, I was pretty much hooked.

The story revolves around Chiaki and his fear of flying. Nodame plays a very important part in this whole story as well. Chiaki finds himself more than just intruiged in this girl, and those around him, sees the subtle changes in him as he cares more and more about Nodame.

I recommend this series to anyone who wants to watch a love comedy, or anyone that likes classical music (like me!!)

You can get your fill of heart-felt music and lurve over at SARS-fansubs! Oh, and leave them a comment from time to time! They do awesome jobs! (they only provide hard-subs, and PLEASE! don't post any of their works up on streaming sites like youtube or anything of the sort!)

thank you! :)

Watch the anime as well, it's quite good!

I watched both the anime and the drama and found the drama to be much much more enjoyable. The anime seemed rushed and dragging. The drama covered a lot in one hour so it keeps you on your toes. True the beginning may be a bit of a bore, as is most intros, but stick to it and I assure you you won't be disappointed. I love this drama, and watched it twice because there are special moments in each episode that make you fall in love with the characters.

PS. The drama covers up to vol 9 in the manga. The manga is still ongoing and is now on volume 19 I believe.

I think the super realistic recreations of the airplane emergency landing incident were the best parts of the drama. Hands down.

(In all seriousness, I actually liked it :))

Nodame was such an interesting character XD Overall I liked it ... it was unique, unlike all the other romantic dramas out there.

I actually really enjoyed the exaggerated acting of the cast. And the special filmed in Europe was GREAT! I envy all those foreign ppl that could speak Japanese to a tee.

Hm, I found the anime boring...but maybe cuz it looked exactly the same as the drama in the first episode.

I watched the anime first, and then the drama so i found the drama a bit boring...

I rewatched the drama though (after some time has past) and really enjoyed it!
