Go onto D-Addicts and check out what they have... it's also helpful to go onto dramawiki... but I'm sure there are descriptions of the shows when you search for tdramas. :)

Devil Beside You?

and if you liked the cast of devil beside you, "why why love" has almost the exact same cast =D.

Also meteor garden was popular. And ISWAK (it started with a kiss).

i watched like first 15 minutes of devil beside you. holy crap so... i think the girl is just annoying >_> i'm past that phase where i can watch that stuff and not get agitated >_<

don't like over dramatic + hyper + high pitch voice girls.

maybe i should give it more chances. i like something more dramatic

omg! yes meteor garden was nice one too! cept i cudn watch the ova episodes cuz i cudnt get paws on copies of them =T.T=

There are very few good Taiwanese dramas out there, mainly because I see them more suitable to a comedic style, and when it gets dramatic and serious, it just doesn't work too well, lol. (Having been raised in Taiwan myself, yes, oh the irony.)

If you plan to watch Meteor Garden (aka Hana Yori Dango), spare yourself. Seriously. Head off to watch the Jap version instead because it's so much better. And don't get me started on what they did to the second season of Meteor Garden because that hurt my soul.

MARS contains two actors from Meteor Garden and I was pleasantly surprised to find a better acting part from those two. It follows the manga quite well, so it's worth a shot. And it's so very melodramatic.

The Prince Who Turns into A Frog is a pretty fair comedy going on. Good if you like slapstick stuff and the whole prince-pauper thing or makeover theme.

Marmalade Boy was weird.

I've been told that I look a lot like a guy from F4 (boy band). That's the same crew as Meteor Garden right? For anyone who's watched it, is there even any resemblance at all? I looked it up online and none of the guys look anything like me -_-

you know what though, most of the taiwanese things that i've seen (actually not even just taiwanese, japanese and chinese as well) are overly dramatic and just.... idk, it's very different from the tv shows that I'm used to. You just have to.. get over that, and... watch. =D

I actually didn't like hana yori dango that the japanese made. It was just so melodramatic, and the girl got really really annoying with her whole "poor lil me" thing. Plus, wtf, the main male character hits girls?? >.< that is 100% cindy disapproved. I found meteor garden a bit more realistic, and the girl had a much stronger character. And the guy wasn't nearly as obnoxious/irritating. I have however heard lots of ill thoughts about the 2nd season and how it completely didn't follow the manga and such, but, having never actually read the manga, I actually found it ok.

@ Glenn: ...you totally don't look anything like any of the guys from F4.... so idk your friend is probably crazy =D.

As for the devil beside you dramas, I think I liked it because I thought rainnie was really cute. Also! It was the first show in which I found one of the guys attractive. (Er.. it was the one that she ended up with, not the basketball one).


That being said, I tend to watch asian dramas only when all of the english ones are on break (aka over the summer).

Also one thing I noticed is that the girls are always very average looking compared to the guys, who are all above average but eh >_>

started watching hot shot on crunchyroll. omg it's funny, charming and about sports (finally a shounen) lol. it takes elements from slam dunk (anime).

romantic princess is funny and interesting, but the romance thing is kinda for the girls. first episode is so drama overdose... exagerated so much
