This series started out as a manga, then turned anime, and then it was made into a taiwanese drama. About a month or two ago, they started filming the Japanese live action. I think it's almost done soon (like one episode or two left to air).

i like Kagurazaka the most... just because he's Shirota Yuu. And Nakatsu is pretty funny himself.

The guy acting as Sano (I know him as Rui from Hana Yori Dango, and as random computer guy in Densha Otoko) was... okay. I think that his roles in the other dramas were slightly better. He's always playing the role of some quiet, cool, slightly misunderstood guy...

Arghhh I'm only up to Ep 10. Anyone know how many eps there are in this series?

I really like the series as well!
The main character (ashiya mizuki) is played by Horikita Maki (I think)
and Sano is played by Oguri Shun, who's also in other works like Gokusen, Stand Up!, and Detective Conan. He also does some modelling and stageplay too. :)

Nakatsu is probably one of my favourite characters; he's played by Ikuta Toma from JE (lol, just ask me if you don't know what that is). *squeals*

I get my subs at SARS-Fansubs, so they're just a TEENSY bit behind, with two more episodes to go. :)

Im sold, first episode was hilarious. Ive only seen parts of Hana Yori Dango and this is more comedic and more anime'ish with 3d effects and what not..

Just waiting for my ipod version atm.. watch ep 2 on the way to work.

Oh awesome~ I love Horikita Maki~ She's such a cute actress~~ XDD ..Shun really plays a cool, silent guy really well though XDD He makes my heart go 'doki doki' =DD And Sano is that type of guy anyways so Shun does him well.

The taiwanese drama of this series was horrible in my opinion, Maki plays a much better Mizuki~

im rounding half-way through, I love the boy having feelings for ashiya.. hilarious.. he's cute too.. lol..

Gokusen is sort of like GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka)... except the teacher's a girl and she's not a perv, haha. Matsumoto Jun's in that one... and subsequently, Oguri Shun's also in that one! :D

If you like cutsy ones... you should check out Nodame Cantabile. It's kind of crappy at the beginning, but it gets REAL sweet later on. :)

Another I would recommend would be Akihabara@DEEP. That's SO cute, and chalk full of JE actors! (aka people like Kazu and Toma <3) It's about these oktaku that make up a team in Akihabara to help people. It's funny and cute. :D

As for action... hmm, I can't really think of a Jdrama at the moment, but I would recommend watching Battle Royale I. It's kind of gory and bloody, so that one's not for the faint of heart. =o (It's not a Jdrama though, it's a Jmovie.)

battle royal was cool, second one not so much...lol.. didn't make any sense, not that the premise of the first was that believable.. I love takeshi, more in a softer role ... like kikujiro .. love that film..

I can only recommend a chinese site that offers chinese sub to the series xD there are 12 episodes total.. but the last one was really lame and twice as long e_e

the taiwanese one isn't worth watching. the cast can't act and they changed the storyline waaaay too much o_o

Nakatsu (Ikuta Toma) has to be the best looking guy of the series! Not only does he have the looks, but he acts extremely cute too =3

and I don't think Oguri Shun makes a really good Sano, at least not in the way I imagine Sano to be.

I loved Nakatsu in the drama! XD So funny but the other people I didn't like. DX Well actually I love Sekime and Tennouji in the drama too but the supposed "lookers" didn't look that good... *coughNambaandSanocough* Umeda-sensei is good looking but I expected a pretty sensei rather than manly (still good thoughhh). I wish they made this series a bit more serious because HanaKimi had a good plot too but the drama made a farce out of it all. :*(
