I've been looking into ways of doing this and I'm simply not sure, but I'm trying to find a way for you. Don't worry, if there IS a way... I'll find it. :P

Make a new layer, then press Ctrl + A. It selects the border around the sig. Then, making sure the colour is black, go to edit-->stroke and choose 'center'. Click ok and you have a 1 pixel-width border. Tell me if you want anything more fancy. ;)

Well, I can tell you how to do a three pixel border like the ones Ayashe and Bane have!! :)
If this way doesn't work, tell me and I'll give you another way to do it!
Simply use the same method as before but make it a '3px' stroke instead of a '1px one'. Then choose a different colour, a lighter one (try using a colour that's already on your sig somewhere) and repeat, but this time make the stroke '2px'. Then, guess what? Repeat again - this time with black again, and make the stroke '1px'. :)
