For thousands of years, the thirteen Zodiac gods have watched over the ancient land of Nippon, defending it from the terrible forces of the demons. Over the course of a hundred years, the sun god Amaterasu has battled the strongest forces of the demons upon the Celestial Plane, fallen to the Mortal Plane, died while in battle with the dreaded demon Orochi, ressurected a hundred years later, battled the origin of the demons Yami, and finally returned to the Celestial Plane to reunite the gods. However, a god's job is never done, and the wolf god has found that her previous exploits were nothing but a spark compared to the fire that is coming upon Nippon.

Seven years after the events of Yami, the gods have found themselves severely weakened - not because of demonic attack, but because of the faith of Nippon. Less and less people believe in them, causing the powers that protect Nippon to weaken. As natural disasters and curses of all kinds begin to plague Nippon, the forces of the Demonic Plane are beginning to stir once more. Influencing mortals isn't a hard thing to do for demons...

Divine Intervention is a wonderful play-by-post RPG based on the hit PS2 game "Okami" by Capcom's Clover Studios. To the best of its abilities, Divine Intervention offers players the chance to pull the strings of the gods, demons, and mortals that reside in the beautiful land of Nippon. The atmosphere is relatively loose, giving creative freedom to the players in order to promote the fantastical nature of Okami.
