Title: General Rules

Aplin - June 26, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
General Rules:

- Note: Please join before posting at SotW!

* You may want to speak 'out of character'. You may do this, as long as you put either 'OOC:' before you do so, or put it in parentheses. When you are ready to talk in character again, please put 'IC:' before you start to type. Please keep OOC posting to a minimum - you are allowed to do it, of course, but it is much better to PM another member if you want to talk to them, or talk in the OOC forums.

* Please make all of your in-character posts about 15 sentences long - or more if you can manage it! Tip - You may describe how your wolf feels, what the land around them is like, and what they're thinking and so on, as well as just their actions, to make posts longer and more detailed. Remember, using parts of the previous post's writing does not count as one of your sentences!

* No powerplaying or godplaying. You shouldn't control other wolves, unless they give you permission to. For instance, you cannot wound or kill another wolf unless they tell you that you can. Also, your wolves should not be invincible or have supernatural powers. Your wolf won't know everything. If another character thinks something, but doesn't say it, your wolf won't know what that character was thinking, even if you yourself do - so remember not to post anything in response to another character's thoughts.
- Soul of the Wild is a realistic wolf RPG in the sense that there is no fantasy. Of course, your wolves may speak and interact.

* Don't change what your character does if another wolf has already replied! You may correct spelling and grammar mistakes in your posts when other characters have replied, but please don't change what your wolf does.

* Some swearing is tolerated. You may insult other wolves by calling them minor curse words, but excessive swearing is not appropriate for this site. There is also a swear-filter for some words.

* You may have any number of characters if you like - therefore, you will have multiple accounts. These are perfectly acceptable, but please make sure that you can handle all of the characters you make.

* Keep IC arguments separate from OOC conversations - the person might be nice, even if the character is horrible! This applies especially to the wolves in Amarth - I doubt they are evil OOC!

* Do not expect people to be online 24/7. Do not expect to be accepted into a pack the second you post. If you really want someone to reply and you have waited a few days, PM them and ask politely for them to post. Tip – Post where a topic has already been started. If there are no topics at the boarder (example denying areas) Then post a different topic. If you wait a few days and still have no reply then PM the Alpha to tell them you have posted. Remember, the politer you are, the more chance you will get a reply back.

* If your wolf is in a topic and it wants to leave (and someone else hasn't replied) just [i]edi
t your first post instead of cluttering up the boards with lots of short posts!!

Thanks to Tlon and Dusky
