Okay, as many of you know, problems have been rampent in the Skah pack, mainly steming from my and Gil's lack of activity. I unfortunatly have not heard from him in quite some time, though I did send him a few emails. I think the pack deserves some better guidence, so I want to go ahead and find a new Alpha or two for the pack so things can move on. Should Gilly see this post or email me before the decision is made, he can help with the decision, if not well I think it needs to be made.

I don't want to just appoint someone who doesn't want to or doesn't think they'll have time to be Alpha, so I'm opening auditions. Any Skah who is interested in the Alpha position please give me your name, current rank, why you want to be Alpha, a sample of your writing (either on the spot or links to posts) and...well anything else you think might help in the decision. Thanks to all, and hopefully we can tie up these lose ends. ^.^

Why: I've been around for at least a couple weeks now and have posted but theres not alot of activity. I am on at least once a day and if not I usually have good reason for not being here and always post why^.^, I am actively posting again on SotW and think i could hold a alpha position well :lol: I think most of the people on sotw who have rp'd with me know i have a decent post and dont take to long to reply.

Their love had bloomed like the beautiful flowers that scattered through the damp earth beneath them. Everything started out small, either it wasn’t meant to be and the sun sucked the life from the seedling.. Or it was meant to be, to be nurtured and kindled softly by the suns rays until the seedling bloomed into something beautiful. Kyra’s and Winnie’s love had been meant to be. Through both the rough times and the good times, their love had proved loyal to each other. Neither had strayed and gone off with another, having given up on their soul mate. It was once said that when love is true, it seems as if their hearts beat as one. Ever word that had been uttered from his mouth, had been taken directly form her own.

The mere sound his laughter made her heart flip with joy and excitement of the moment. It had been so long since she had heard that lifting laughter, well at least while she was awake. That laughter had haunted her many nights as she laid waiting for his return. With every sunset came a sunrise, with every coming day the weight of his absence grew more and more unbearable. The moon’s silver beams made her silver tipped pelt glow softly in the dark that surrounded them. The mist floated, hovering above them and engulfing them.. Almost as if to lock in the moment, to savor the taste of love.

Sarcastic tones graced her auds as Kyra perked her velvetine auds slightly. Deep expressive eyes the color of the algae that coated the ponds surface this time of year, slid open from their relaxed resting place. Winnie’s crooked smile brought back memories of the old times. The soft angelic laughter that had taken its absence the moment of Winnie’s departure once again made it elf present. Seemingly floating in the air, mingling with the mist that had surrounded them in a somewhat mysterious way. ” I am not much the poet.. Yet when ones heart speaks for itself, It works in beautiful ways… My mother once said That when love is true, their hearts beat as one.. In one single rhythm… I was young and didn’t understand it then.. I had always been more of a logical thinker I guess.. But now I think I do understand what she meant…” Angelic vocals were spoke softly, as if not to disturb the moment they were in. Perhaps Winnie understood her wise mother’s saying as well.

The tones of his voice has changed, as well as the topic of discussion. Kyra sat quietly, allowing him to speak what he thought she needed to hear. Her deep emerald eyes met his of baby blue, locking as he spoke. Eye contact was important, it was a trust and respect issue that she had. If one could not look her in the eye and tell her something.. They were not worth her time. Softly a smile tugged at her muzzle as she licked his chin for indeed he was taller than she. If she had wanted to lick his face it would have required the effort of sitting back up, this she did not think was required at the moment. Sighing softly she still held his gaze, thinking for a moment before speaking. ” My dear you have not ruined the moment in the least bit.. You are my prince that ahs returned at last. I believe what you say and simple ask why not ask for directions next time?” Angelic tones turned slightly sarcastic when she spoke of directions. Mother had always said males where to stubborn to stop and ask for directions when they got lost. Smiling softly she continued her little speech.. ”… It has been a while, yet I still love you the same as the day you disappeared.. If not more for you have proven your loyalty by returning to me at last. With every sunset follows a sunrise, with every coming day I look forward to having you by my side. I will hold you to that.. I love you Winnie, let us remain with the Skah, like we had planned before. Angelic voice drifted slightly as she spoke. Feeling as if she had wandered ever so slightly off topic.

Indeed this was the fairytale she had always dreamed of during her childhood. A loving mate to stand by her side and to share the world with. Kyra knew that she was sickly in love with him after he had left. Perhaps you only realize how much someone means to you once they are gone. Right then and there she would have given the world just to have another day.. No hour.. No second with him. Winnie’s presence had been much like the life sustaining oxygen that one could not live without. Without him there she felt suffocated and lone, as if the world had turned its back to her. ” Perhaps we only realize how much one means to us once it is gone..” Whispered her angelic vocals. Deep emerald optics gazed up into his baby blue eyes as she spoke.

Why: I have RPed here since July of '05, so I feel I have a good idea of how the Skah operates. At this point I am active, and will see if I can access the board from the training center I'm going to at some, still unknown time. If Keno is chosen, I would hope that another would also be chosen (would that automatically be his mate? Not sure how that works), just in case I'm unable to keep him going during my stay there. But as of right now I am on several times a day, so I believe my activity level is conducive to RPing an Alpha. If chosen I'll try to remain active (or even if not chosen because I really hope I can get here from there reguardless lol)

That thread has several Keno posts in it. He and Bane are speaking with Krikor for the first time.

Anything else: Keno has been in the Skah for about four IC years, and knows the ins and outs of Skah life. He has a gentle, forgiving disposition. He is patient but can be stern when he needs to be. He tries to resolve things peacefully without fighting, but will fight if he knows there's no other way. He often takes burdens upon himself that even the Alpha would not necessarily be expected to shoulder. He expects only the best of himself, though has learned to keep his emotions in check when things don't go exactly as preferred. He is loved (I think) by most Skah, but never lets that, or his currently high rank (Beta) in the pack go to his head.

Firstly: Diggeh, I can't thank you enough for taking this thing onto yourself and hiding Gill's shortcomings. *Cowers* You've been such a good friend. I can't imagine what I'd do without ya. ^^ I'm sorry I didn't answer your last e-mail; my internet company decided that they'd give me some grief. -_-;; Long and unnecesary story. I might tell it some time.

But on to better news.

Gill hath found his muse and is not going to be moving for quite some time. Jamie and I decided to let the girls finish school here, then figure something out.

I will, however, be taking one week of in March for family, and two months off in Summer for vacation and family, though on both absences I will have semi-internet.

If you all will allow it, I'd like to try my hand at keeping my rank at Alpha, though i don't deserve it, and I'll do my darndest. I understand if not, and I will happily put Fal back in whatever rank the new Alpha - if it has to be so, Digg and I'll decide it - and obiedently RP him as a contributing member of society. ^^

Glad to see you back old friend! ^.^ While school is beginning to wind down for the semester, I'm still afraid I don't feel I'm able to keep my position as Alpha...merphle. Since we've already opened up auditions for a new Alpha, perhaps we can appoint someone to rule along with Fal? Does anyone have an objection to this? It might be a bit unorthidox, but so are some of our wolves ;-) As far as Kisu is concerned, I might have her go off on another trip of self discovery, seeing how much random crap her mind's been bombarded with lately, I don't think that would be too out of character for her. Either that or I'll simply have her decide that enough is enough, step down from her posiiton as Alpha, and simply haunt the Skah lands as an elder or mentor. Still doesn't me she can't be Fal's mate ^.^

Well, I'm all for Fal continuing as alpha becuase I personally think Gilly's doing a good job. However, activity is the only thing, but as long as you can keep it up to a day or so a week, then it'll probably be fine.

Also, if Diggy wants to drop her alpha position and remain Fal's mate as Fal remains alpha, that's fine too. We could always say Kisu got injured to the point where she could no longer hold her position, but the pack still wanted Fal to lead, just, with another wolf...or something.

In the end, it's what you all decide, but thought i'd add my thoughts.

Why I want to be: Well, I’m active and on almost everyday. I know I’ve fallen a little behind lately, but it hasn’t been by too much. I just want to try and help bring the Skah’s activity back up and, I think it’d be cool to be alphess. I feel Rynn’s heart is in the right place, so she’d probably hold decently to the Skah values. I, myself, have been a member here since January and have stayed active since. All-in-all, it’s a nice position, so here I go!

Well, Nokomis is content with Diplomat right now. Cip, well, he's a guy...he can't rule alongside Fal X.x As for Durga...well, her aspiration is to be Skah Alphess. However, I don't think it is wise for her to be such right now (she still has stuff to learn and tho some have led the pack as a yearling, Durga couldn't do it properly). So, I was thinking maybe Alphan Heir? I mean, she could still be Patroller and stuff, but be Alphan Heir. (Cause Alphan Heir isn't really a rank...its more of a title I think) Seeing as Fal and Kisu have no pups of thier own (as of thus far).

Just something I thought I'd through in here. It doesn't have to happen, and if it does, it doesn't have to be right now. Just a thought and meantion of her aspirations.

Actually Kisu has Bane and Bethlen... they would 'technically' be next in line for this Alphen position. Seeing as Bane is mates with Keno... I would say those two would be the chosen pair of leaders. And considering they ar already beta's it makes it even more logical.

But thats just a logical solution.

Actually, how it's suppose to run is if the alphas are not here or absent it is usually the beta and betan that must do their ruling, since they are second line of authority.

Fal shouldn't lose her place as alpha, Sotw's intent isn't exactly suppose to steal your actual soul from the real world. And if you truly feel you don't want to be Alphess Kisu ( :crybaby: ) you could still consider in using your betas. I have no idea who they are or even if they are both still active, but when you both are taking off the pair could control in the meantime.

Acctually guys, I'm working something out with one of the Beta's. I'll let you know how things go from there. ^^

Lol, it's been decided.

After consulting my friend who's studying zoology and animal science, he told me that it's not common, but has been heard of for an Alpha to share leadership with one of his cubs. Now, we all know that Keno is like a son to Fal, and in fact is now his... step-son-in-law. :blink: If relations tied into wolves like that. ...

Anyhow, he said he'd studied a case where a male wolf and his mate had been ruling/leading a pack, and after his mate died the male's oldest son - interesting how it must've been instinctive - stepped up and helped his father lead the pack. So I decided that IC after Fal learns that Kisu will be stepping down, he'll obviously need some help ruling, and will select Keno to do this.

Now, I still have to run it past Diggeh, but I'm sure she wont mind. ^^ Thanks to all of those who applied and were willing to help me out.
