Kalliope - August 23, 2006 07:21 PM (GMT)
Name: Kalliope Apollo [Beautiful Voice of Strength]
Age: 1.7 years old
Gender: Female
Pack: Loner
Rank: N/A

Appearance:
Kalliope was a strong, big grey wolf, who was as her old friends called her, "picture perfect". Her fur was rarely dirty, making it pure and kind of fluffly. Her glossy eyes were crystal clear blue, and normally they showed happiness and love. Deep beneath the surface of her bright blue eyes, showed sadness, pain and confusion. Not too many wolves could see that, most just saw the outside, happiness and love. Those who did see her pain, sadness and confusion came in the few and rarely ever questioned her about it.

She had always kept her fur clean, hating it all dirty. She had a white patch on her chest, and her grey fur was always silver-like. Kalliope was proud of her grey fur, because it was, what her mother had called it, gorgeous. It was like silk but it sometimes looked rough and tattered. Kalliope's fore-right paw had a white toe and her back-left toe was black. Amongst her grey fur there was some white, brown and black but it wasn't anything compared to her grey.

She was a strong hunter, but not a great fighter. She never liked nor enjoyed fighting, she silently hoped things could be sorten out by words. If she was put into a fighting position, her body could be put through a lot and cuts and scrapes healed quickly for her. Her problem was not thinking about the other fighter's next move. Sometimes her body didn't have time to prepare for the next blow, so it'd be really rough on her body. She'd only been in 6 fights in her life, 4 she'd lost. She hated them. Out of all those fights, she'd come out with blood all over her. Those were the only times her fur was really messy. Her fur would have blood and she considered herself lucky, that the injuries weren't any worst than a couple of scrapes and cuts.

Personality: As her friends had called her, she was "picture perfect". Kalliope had always considered others feelings, and had never tried to disrespect any wolves in any way. If she did, she normally felt deeply gulity afterward. Kalliope always put others before her. No matter what, she always had. The femme tried to feel with love but sometimes pain stabbed at her. She didn't mind to speak to others openly, but in the presence of a stranger, she closed up like a closed book. She has deep feelings about things and has always trusted her heart. She'd protect any one in a second, without thinking twice.

Kalliope had a special way with words, no matter how harsh they were said, they always came out with a meaning. At one point, when she was a pup, Kalliope had thought her name, "Beautiful Voice" had given her a "power" with words. She soon realized her name had nothing to do with it and was kind of broken hearted.

She could be fun, loving, happiness and playful but when left alone she was different. It was like she was two different wolves. One was the happy one, the one that made sure everyone else was okay before herself. The other one was the one who was in pain and sorrow, not feeling sorry for herself but thinking about her past. She felt trapped between two different worlds. She felt like she couldn't escape. She couldn't breathe.

She was an excellent hunter, despite her fighting ablities. She actually thought about stuff like, What's the next move this rabbit's gonna make? Kalliope could catch a rabbit or any creature she wanted to, she knew just how to pounce like a feline to catch her prey. It made her wonder why she wasn't good in a fight. She could hunt, but she couldn't fight. Her body wasn't swift enough in a fight. Kalliope just didn't know how to predict her oppent's move. She was always thinking of what she'd do, that it was like she forgot about the one she was fighting. She started to think of the one she was fighting, like it was a rabbit, and she had slowly improved in fighting. The last two fights she was in, she'd won.

History:
Kalliope, being who she is, has had a different kind of past. Some wolves have had a pretty bad past. Hers was worst of all, or so she thought.

When Kalliope was born, her mother had given her the name and disappeared. Her father, not being a completely nice alpha, toughened her up. Kalliope had to do a lot and pretended to be like her father in everyway. Being forced to act like she didn't care. She wasn't that way. She hated it. Her father had made her do awful stuff. Sometimes, Kalliope wanted to kill him. She hated him so much.

Then just as Kalliope turned a year, her mother returned to see what had become of her 7 pups, which now, was just Kalliope. Her mother had walked up to Kalliope asking to see Kalliope. She had never been happier. She told her about her father killing her brothers and sisters, right in front of her. Seeing them in dead cold blood. Kalliope's mother told her that they weren't supposed to die. Kalliope had never felt more happy to see her mother, whom she did not know.

Then, Kalliope's mother abducted Kalliope, taking her to where her mother had been for the past year. Kalliope's father had be outraged and sent some wolves to steal her back. He had threathen them with their lives if they didn't bring Kalliope back. She was taken back to her childhood "home". She was now a year, and she wanted to live with her mother. Kalliope ran-away to her mother. As she ran into her mother's den, where she had spent the 2 weeks while her father had sent out wolves to search for her, Kalliope had gotten a "present" from her father. Kalliope had yelped as she found her mother laying, dead, in cold blood, just like her sisters and brothers. Her mother was her last source of freedom.

Kalliope, who didn't know where else to go tried to flee. Her father captured her and kept her in a cave, barely feeding her for 6 months before Kalliope went noticed by a loner wolf. Nobody, besides her father and his mate, had known where she was. While he hunted, his mate, watched Kalliope. Making sure she couldn't go anywhere. If she did, they'd fight. Since she never knew what their move was going to be she'd have to retreat. She stay in the back of the cave, and sometimes she would wander passed her dad, and his mate, and go outside. As soon as her dad found her missing, he'd tear the whole forest and mountains apart looking for her. Kalliope soon realized that risk of being killed when she left the cave. It always lead to an arguement or a small fight. Nobody had taught Kalliope how to fight, in fear she'd be a good fighter. She was still learning. This loner had found her and helped her escape. His name was Murtagh. After he helped her escape they were separated once again. Kalliope had now been on her own for less than a month and was in dire need of a good home.

Only a few things here...

First, a little more information in appearence please, some of what makes up your appearence is probably better suited for personality instead.

Also, there seems to be a bit of a descrpancy here...if she's a good hunter and always plans out her prey's next move, why does she have such a hard time doing the same thing in a fight? It would seem if she was good at thinking about the movements of prey, then she would at least consider the movements of her opponent as well.

Finally, how could her father have "locked her up?" A wolf can't really lock up another, considering they don't have doors or locks. Even if he kept her in a cave or burrow he would have to leave eventually to get food for himself. Perhaps he simply forced her to remain under his supervision by always tracking her down if she tried to run away.

Just let me know when you want me to take another look at your application. Thanks!
