OOC: Okay, I know even mods don't usually accept their own appys, but I thought this would be alright since Akando isn't going to be in the picture for long...just a temporary position here on earth.

Name: Akando

Age: About six months

Gender: Male

Pack: loner

Appearance:

Akando is of rather small stature, but has obvious potential to grow into a rather robust form. His body, still undergoing rapid change, is struggling to catch up with his paws, which are large and clumsy. One day this young male will have the body of a mighty hunter, but for now he still has trouble putting one paw in front of the other. He is a rather scrawny youth, not exactly emaciated, but not well fed either. The small muscles connecting his limbs are easily distinguished, wiry and tough from constant use. His pelt is a dirty grey, though each paw is capped with a cream color. His pelt is appears dusty and ragged, lacking the sheen of one who has lived the easy and pamperd life of a normal pup. The eyes that peer at the world before him are still an innocent blue, betraying the short span he has spent in the world of the living. One attribute that easily distinguishes Akando from others his own age is the surprising number of scars that criss-cross his small body. Though young, this wolf has seen more than those twice his age.

Personality:

Akando is extremely skittish and untrusting, and given his troubled past this is no surprise. Shivering even in the middle of summer, the pup has learned to be cautious and careful of anybeast he meets. Preferring to stay in the background, he only becomes the center of attention if absolutely necessary, or another power forces him to do so. Knowing nothing but fear and pain for most of his brief existence, kindness is a foreign concept to his tiny brain, so it is unsure exactly how he would react when meeting a decent wolf. One who has spend time around Akando would even begin to question his ability to speak, which he only does when left no other option. When his voice does emerge it comes as a high pitched squeak, usually quavering with nerves. His usual stance is with his body low to the ground with large searching eyes darting back and forth, constantly searching for a means of escape.

History:

Akando's past is brief but painful. Born to a pack whose lust was power, he was destined from birth to be trained as a warrior to fight for the good of his packmates. Each moment was a battle even from the first moments out of the womb, searching for his mother's nourishing milk. Once his eyes had opened and he saw his siblings for the first time, Akando then began to be pitted against them in mock battles. Winners were rewarded with meat while losers were shunned and ignored. These were no silly meaningless puppy scraps...this was a cold introduction into the real world. His brother was much larger than he and usually won such battles, giving no quarter to one of his own blood. Akando suspected he was even beginning to enjoy the sight of his own brother's blood and hearing his cries of pain. His sisters seemed to adapt quickly to this way of life, like his brother, but Akando could not understand. Why should they fight and wound? What purpose did it serve? Why couldn't they simply romp in the sun and enjoy breathing in the warm spring air. Many times when he was supposed to be "training" for his next battle, his mother would catching him staring off into space, dreaming of a world he did not know, but had an inkling was out there...calling him. Sound thrashes taught Akando to pay attention for his mother's scent or footfalls.

After one of his countless fights, Akando was attempting to lick the wounds inflicted by his sister. They had been rather severe this time, and Akando knew if one of the pack had not stepped in, his sister would not have had any problem doing away with the "weakling" as they snidely called him not only behind his back. Ignored as usual by the others, Akando decided he'd had enough. Slinking away, he began to run as fast as his growing paws would take him. He knew they would not check on how he was doing until the next morning. If he was lucky, they wouldn't even care he was gone. Akando was not foolish enough to think he had the abilities to survive on his own for very long, but in his mind death was preferable to staying in that living hell.
