(NOTE FROM ZITA: Revised Friday, June 8, 2007)
Name: Zine Aldasia
Pronunciation: ZINE al-DAY-zee-uh (Zine rhymes with line and the al in Aldasia is like in the word "mallet")
Age: 4
Gender: M
Pack: Loner
Position:
Appearance: Zine is a slightly tallish wolf, though he is thinner than average. His wirey muscles are from a life spent on his own and his thinness is from feeding exclusively on small game.
Zine's fur is very pale. It is not quite white, but has shades of very light browns and greys all throughout. There are some hintings at black on his back as well, but he is mostly a light wolf. He can obfuscate this by rolling in mud to darken his colors, which he sometimes does if he needs to spy. Zine enjoys being clean, though, and will wash all the muck out as soon as he no longer needs it.
The most striking thing about this wolf, however, is his eyes. They are wide and pale grey-blue with small pupils that give him a sort of almost mad, constantly surprised appearance. Sometimes they just seem empty, but Zine's emotions can be read easily in his eyes.
This wolf tends to carry himself like a low-ranking packmate even if he's alone. This comes from being so used to suspicion and anger from other wolves when they find out his business.
Personality: Zine rarely gets to show his friendly side to other wolves. They don't trust him. Zine is schizophrenic and has hallucinations of a large black wolf with a stag's antlers. He is convinced this is Kharlvahn, the god of the dead he believes in, and that he is the avatar of this god. Zine considers it his divine duty to kill the wolves that this "god" commands him to in order to protect them from a more painful death. Suthin, the god of life that Zine has only seen once, appears as a large white wolf equivalent to Kharlvahn with ram's horns.
Zine Aldasia is very dangerous once he decides to kill you, even if he does it out of charity and care. He is very resourceful when serving his god. He can hide his scent and is good at concealing his fur. Zine, however, is not a psychotic killer. He is very pious and will try to make a death as clean as he can. He prays to Kharlvahn and Suthin after every kill, prey or otherwise, and has sworn never to harm a pup even if it costs him his own life. Pups have a strange effect on Zine, he loves younger wolves and will protect and love them like his own. However, most parents would not let Zine within scenting distance of their children.
Zine is, despite all this, a warm and loving wolf. Kharlvahn says this is why he selected Zine as an avatar, for his enormous and forgiving heart. In a way, Zine has loved every wolf he has ever met or killed and forgiven all they have done to him in his life. He forgives, but that does not diminish the pain he feels every time he is misunderstood and rejected. If you show Zine even a little kindness he will quickly and easily open up.
Lastly, Zine is rather superstitious. He takes certain things, like four crows flying overhead, to mean bad luck. These omens genuinely frighten him and he will often take shelter for days after seeing one to avoid this "bad luck".
History: Zine was the kindest pup in his litter. He was warm and loving and trusting to anyone and many of his packmates came to like him as he grew up. Zine had one brother named Kubai Aldasia, a darker and slightly bigger pup but just as friendly and warm. (All wolves had a sort of "last name" they inherited from the father) Zine was well liked and clever and so was his brother.
When Zine was a year and a half old, however, he seemed to change. He spent more time alone and became withdrawn, even from Kubai. The hallucinations began and he spent even more time away from the pack, playing by himself and hoping for glimpses of his "god". Zine devoted himself to Kharlvahn's will. His new god always appeared kind to him, loved him, and was never harsh. Zine was proud to be Kharlvahn's avatar, but he did not tell anyone about it because he feared rightly that they would not believe him.
At age two, Zine killed his first wolf under Kharlvahn's command. The Alphess was suffering from a disease that was slowly paralyzing her body. Her jaws had clamped shut and she could not speak or eat, doomed to starve to death. To save her the suffering, Zine killed her in her sleep with a sharp bite to the throat. When the Alpha found out he was enraged with grief and he drove Zine from his packlands into the neutral zone. Kubai followed his brother, trying to bring him out of whatever this phase was. Zine even explained about the "gods" to Kubai and Kubai tried to "snap him out of it" but Zine left him in the night one day. Kubai joined another nearby pack and never saw his brother again.
Zine did not regret his choice, he was convinced that by leaving he was protecting his brother from his god's demands. Zine traveled alone for a while and came to other areas where he continued to follow Kharlvahn's will and kill wolves, each time being driven away by the local packs. He has not had another friend since he left Kubai.
Now at age four, Zine Aldasia has killed many out of his vision's mercy and has come to these lands. He has fallen in love with the Keika Woods, declaring them the most beautiful place he has ever seen, and has yet to ease a death here. But it may just be a matter of time...
Ohhhh! He looks like a good character. I can see you having a lot of fun playing him =D
Accepted! *stamp of approval*
