I've noticed, and, it's come up on the recent thread in plot discussions, that sometimes there are...some spelling errors in posts. One good idea is, if you have issues with spelling, to type your posts in a word processor with spell check. But, what if you're like me and all you have is WordPad on your computer, with no built in spell checker? Is there hope?
The wonderful news is, the answer is a resounding YES!!
Here are some online spellcheckers and my comments, after taking them for a test run with a deliberately misspelled sentence. For what it's worth, the sentence I used was "I woke up this mourning to find a ded hampster on my hed." It should be: "I woke up this morning to find a dead hamster on my head."
SpellCheck.netThis one will do up to 20,000 characters. I wasn't overly impressed with the lack of correct choices. Okay, so "mourning" is a correctly spelled word, so it's not surprising that it didn't pick up the error with that word. But "ded" and "hampster", disappointedly, did not return for me the correct word. "Hed" did. But I'm sure it can be useful. It also has a word count and character count.
The Solution Cafe Spell CheckerAgain, the problem with mourning for morning wasn't found. Not surprising. It did give me dead for ded and head for hed, however. Not sure why it didn't give me hamster for hampster, but oh well. Seems good.
1-list.com Spell CheckerIt found dead for ded and head for hed. And it also, believe it or not, found hamster for hampster.
Mark Horrell Spell CheckerFound dead for ded, hamster for hampster, and head for hed. Checks for typing errors and phonetic errors.
Hope this is somehow helpful. :)
