Name: Kiwidinok
Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Pack: None
Position:
Appearance: I will start this off by saying that Kiwidinok is a very beautiful and mysterious wolf. I press those two descriptions as they define her very well.
Kiwidinok is a large fea and is very muscular from traveling around so much. Despite her size, her frame is slim and not clumsy. She is very quick in physical as well as mental areas. Her audits are quiet large even for her large size and she can hear very well. When her winter coat grows in the fur on very tip of her muzzle turns white. Her orbs are a very deep gold color. She has a very sharp sense of smell and vision. It would be very hard to sneak up on her. Kiwidinok’s gait is very graceful and smooth. Her coat blends into the shadows and even when right next to her you can barely see her.
Personality: She is a very quiet wolf and only speaks when it is something worth saying. She analyzes everything without even really thinking about it. She does not like to speak her opinion on little matters unless she sees how it benefits the one she is telling it to. She would rather sit back and observe before she speaks. When around the few she trusts, Kiwidinok becomes like another wolf. She speaks a lot more and even will romp around and play. She likes puppies a lot and hopes to have some one day. She also hopes to join another pack and become a patroller. Kiwidinok is very reserved about her feelings. She is a very sneaky and wolf and prefers to stick to the shadows. She does not like to trust anyone because she is afraid of getting hurt. Kiwidinok does not like evil wolves or wolves that are to goody-goody. She more likes the wolves who appreciate their surrounding and who are somewhat conserved. Just like her old pack.
History: Kiwidinok was born into a small conserved pack of wolves who lived in the shadows. She was first born out of two pups. She and her brother were twins. Their pack consisted of 5 wolves not including them. All the wolves in the pack were pure black. The 5 members of the pack went like this: her mother, Amayeta, who was the Alphess, her father, Catori, who was the alpha, the beta, Hakidonmuya, the betan/maiden, Kimi and the old tutor, Nadie.
Kiwidinok was born in the early spring. At birth she and her brother were not given names. It was a tradition of the pack not to give their children names until they proved themselves for one. If other words, the pups would have to do something or their personality would have to reflect something before a name was chosen for them. An example would be: a pup is born and when it gets a little older it really likes storms and playing in the rain. The pup’s favorite time is when it rains and their personality represents rain or storms. So the pup’s parents decide to name it Sokanon which means rain in Algonquin Native American.
The first couple weeks of her life are very blank to Kiwidinok. All she remembers is her mother’s soft tone and warmth, the pitch black darkness of the den and competing with her brother for the best spot to nurse. She always won those competitions because her brother was like her in all aspects except physical strength. Kiwidinok was born strong in the one place her brother was not.
Once Kiwidinok and her brother were old enough to leave the den her parents began judging them for names. Her brother was almost a complete copy of her, but because he was weaker and second born he looked up to her. When the pups were 12 weeks old they still had not shown any special trait. Catori and Amayeta began to get worried their pups would never be suited for names.
One day Kiwidinok saw a rabbit. Her parents, who were near by, watched her closely. Kiwidinok lay absolutely still as the rabbit nibbled on grass and hopped closer and closer to her. Kiwidinok was lying within the shadows so the rabbit did not know she was there. When it was practically on top of her, Kiwidinok rolled to the side, placed her paw on top of the rabbit, placed her jaws over its neck and snapped it. It was all so sudden. As Kiwidinok’s parents starred at her, their minds still registering what had happened, a strong and sudden gust of wind blew. Kiwidinok lifted her head into the wind, closed her deep golden orbs and smiled. Her parents then named her Kiwidinok meaning “of the wind”. Kiwidinok’s brother was then named Nashota which means “twin” because he was just like his sister.
Kimi took care of Nashota and Kiwidinok and taught them the basics such as how to speak and how to walk. But now that they were older Nadie began taking them out and teaching them how to live in the shadows and how to hunt. She told them of the first wolves and taught them of how wolves came to be smart. She taught them respect for the river, the trees and even the ground on which they walked. She told them to honor their prey, for without it they would perish. Nadie was a great teacher, maybe one of the best and Kiwidinok loved her maybe even more then her own parents. Kiwidinok’s parents were never around much. Once she and her brother were weaned Amayeta had little patience for them and Catori was little better.
Kiwidinok and her brother became patrollers for the pack. They would travel around the fringes of the pack land keeping out the strangers. They never accepted anyone, for they would not trust anyone. They did their job well and worked great together.
When she was little more than a year old, tragedy struck Kiwidinok’s family. A huge storm blew across the land while the pack was out hunting. At first the storm seemed like no more then a light shower, but within minutes there were fierce winds, lightning and even hail. Kiwidinok’s pack started back to the den, but it was to far away. They took shelter under a large tree and huddled close together. Kiwidinok will always remember feeling her brother next to her shaking and when he looked at her, his yellow orbs wide with terror and asked her, “Kiwidinok, are we going to be ok.”
Kiwidinok looked at her little brother and huddled up close to him. “Yes, Nashota. We are all going to be ok. Everything will be alright”
For the next 15 minutes the family lay in silence under the tree. It was then that all the hail stopped and it quieted. Thinking that is was finally over; they all left the tree and started slowly home. But just as sudden as the storm had died it picked back up. This time it was 10 times worse. The hail was the size of a field mouse and the wind made it all but impossible to keep on your paws, let alone walk.
As they once again ran for cover, a hail stone came down and struck Kimi in the head. She had always been a small wolf and the hail stone cracked her skull. She gave a small yip and fell to the ground. Everyone stopped and tried to help her, but Hakidonmuya, her devoted mate, told them to seek shelter. When Kiwidinok reached a small rock overhang, she looked back to see Hakidonmuya lying next to his mate. They were both dead, for the hail stones were now raining down even harder. She was saddened, but still scared for the rest of her family. She looked about and saw that no one was with her. As she looked about even more, Kiwidinok discovered her parents and Nadie had taken shelter together under a tree. They were very far away as they had run a different direction. Nashota had taken shelter under a near by brush pile up.
It was shortly after that the tornado came. It touched down right on top of her parents and tutor. Kiwidinok watched them as they were lifted off their feet and flung about like twigs in a swift river. There was nothing that Kiwidinok could do but sit and watch as they disappeared into the whirling mass. Her brother, on the other hand, foolishly ran out to…well…Kiwidinok will never get what he planed on doing. This was not some animals that you could take down with you fangs.
Kiwidinok shouted after him, but he paid no attention. He ran towards the tornado and was swept off his feet and thrown into a creek bed. Kiwidinok fought off the urge to run to his aid. She would gain nothing by throwing her life away. But still there was a reckless streak in her. Overcome by her anger and passion, Kiwidinok walked out from her shelter and looked into the skies. She bared her pearly fangs and flattened her audits against her skull. Kiwidinok growled and snared at the swirling sky, but to no avail. She then saw the moon through a brake in the clouds. It looked hurt, almost broken.
Kiwidinok stood tall and proud. She stiffened her legs, held her tassel out and high and puffed out her chest. Kiwidinok lifted a single front paw from the battered earth and tipped her muzzle to the broken moon. She let loose a long mournful howl, so beautiful and sad. The storm quieted, as if listening to it. The tornado lifted itself back into the clouds and disappeared. It was like it was ashamed of the pain it had caused such a pure creature. As the hail stopped and the rain eased up, Kiwidinok ran to her brother.
When she reached him he was lying in a crumpled mess, just barely alive. She jumped down into the creek bed and went to his side. “Oh Nashota, please be alright. Please don’t leave me brother.” She cried. Tears began to prick at her eyes as he spoke in a faint whisper. “Kiwidinok…..you said everything would be ok. You said we would all be ok…..” His breath became slower. “Oh Nashota, forgive me. Please my brother….forgive me…” She lay next to him, tears braking into her eyes. Nashota looked into Kiwidinok’s golden orbs and whispered. “You lied to me my sister….you lied…” With that Nashota’s breathing stopped, his yellow orbs still gazing upon Kiwidinok. He was dead. That look of disbelief and pain will forever be etched into Kiwidinok’s mind. Kiwidinok cried her broken heart out. She had let him down and she would never forgive herself.
Before Kiwidinok left her brother, she used her nose to shut his eyes. She gave him one last nuzzle and then climbed out of the creek bed. She needed to find the rest of her pack; although she knew what she would find. Her mother, father and tutor all lay dead in broken messes across the open fields of her pack land.
With no life left to live Kiwidinok plunged, head first, into the unknown wilderness. She did not know where she was going or what she was looking for. All she knew was her pain.
Kiwidinok prowled the shadows of many pack lands. When she found a pack, she would hide in the shadows and spy on them. Each one turned out the same. She did not like what she saw. The packs she watched were either too evil or too nice or even just too plain. For the next year of her life Kiwidinok desperately wondered in the shadows searching for others like her, searching for a wolf that could understand or at least relate to her. Now Kiwidinok has happened across the land of SOTW. Will she find her destiny? Will her search finally end? No ones knows, but we will all find out.
*passes out* that took FOREVER!!! :P I hope it is ok....*goes off to sleep since it is 5:24 am and she has not slept in the last 24 hours*
