Title: Kiowa - Accepted

Kiowa - May 23, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
Name: Kiowa

Age: 3 years

Gender: Female

Pack: Loner

Position:

Appearance: Kiowa is a sleek black she-wolf with no markings except for a single patch of white on the tip of her long tail. Her eyes are golden with a hint of brown in them. Her fur is rough and medium length. There is a slight gray tint on her muzzel that travels up inbetween her eyes. Her teeth are very pearly white and sharp. Kiowa is graceful. She is not huge, but she is a decent size. She is stronge and slim. She hunts best in dark places where she can blend in with the shadows and silently stalk her prey. You may see her traveling through the woods when she paddels into a patch of light coming through the trees. Her fur glistens with a slight shade of brown and her mouth is slightly open, exposing those pearly white and sharp teeth. Her ears are alert and every inch of her body is tense. Her eyes dart here and there, following every little sound. She has a great sense of smell, an excellent sense of hearing and killer vision.

Personality: Kiowa is extreamly smart. Kiowa is dominate and a fierce fighter. She does not like to fight and would rather avoid it, but if her life is threatened she is a horrible force to be reconed with. Even though she has only mother one litter, she is a great mother. Acka hates ALL humans. She is playful, but very lonely. Kiowa is a very careful wolf and always alert. She is a fun wolf to be around, but when it comes down to business she makes sure it gets done. If she thinks that her pack is in danger she gets really pissy if they don't listen to her. It is only because she cares. She is a good hunter and is great at stalking (except in the bright white snow...she tends to stick out). She is a great leader and can make the good desicions when under pressure. Acka is not the type of wolf to panick. She is even tempored except when her pack or herself is in danger.

History: Kiowa was born into a neutral, but loving pack. Her father, Kapu was the alpha while her mother, Silver, was the Alphess. There were only two other wolves in the pack of which she belonged to. Zira was a faithful betan and maiden. Galamite was a bitter and mean Omega.

Kiowa was born into a litter of 4. Her two brothers and one sister were all smaller than her. By the time Kiowa had opened her tiny eyes and took her first steps, one of her brothers had died. Kiowa’s first memories are of her mother’s rich milk and warmth and her father’s happy grin and wet tongue. She tied for biggest in her litter with her brother. Although she might have been smaller, Kiowa’s sister had a I-Don’t-Put-Up-With-Your-Crap attitude. There was no bully in her litter as there is most of the time, but Kiowa made herself the leader. She was the first to leave the den, the first to make a kill (even if it was just a mouse) and the first to get clobbered by Galamite.

But the land Kiowa’s pack called home, was being settled by humans. They set traps for her family and shot at them with loud sticks. Kiowa was not more than 4 months old when Zira and Galamite were caught in traps on the same day. Her mother and father tried to free them, but had to retreat when the humans came. There was a loud crack through the air followed shortly by a fierce howl from Zira cut short by another crack. The scent of blood was heavy in the air and Kiowa’s parents ran.

The humans tracked the wolves down to their den and shot Silver. Kiowa had been following her father on a walk when they heard Silver howl in pain. They ran back and got there in time to see two hunters slitting Kiowa’s sister’s throat. Her brother and mother lay dead a short ways away and one of the men held a long bloody rag to his leg. Kapu silently charged and killed the wounded man. The other man dropped Kiowa’s sister’s body and pointed his stick at Kapu. There was a loud crack and Kapu’s shoulder was covered in blood. He leapt at the human and tore at his neck. Kiowa watched as her father tore the human into bloody shreds, not stopping when the human was dead. She watched as Kupa turned all of his anger, pain and grief into his attack on the human’s corpse. She stood by and silently watched. When he was done they walked away together without a single word to each other or a single tear shed, though inside they both ached.

Not a week afterwards a big metal bird came chasing after them when they were in an open area exploring. There was snow on the ground and they could not hide because of their fur color. Kiowa and Kapu were running side by side, but Kapu was slowly lagging behind due to the wound in his shoulder. The cover of the woods was about 400 feet away when an all to familier shot rang out from the direction of the monstrous bird. Kapu fell and tumbled paw over paw. Kiowa skidded to a stop and ran to his side. She nudged him and spoke quickly, fear and urancy in her voice.

"Kapu, are you hurt? We must keep running!"

He looked up at her, his eyes filled with pain. He made an attempt to get up, but fell down again, revealing a large bloody hole in his side. Kiowa saw it and grabbed her father’s scruff, attempting to pull him away. He shook himself away from her, baring his fangs and growling.

"YOU FOOL! Get out of here!"

Kiowa opened her maw to protest, her orbs filled with determination. She would die here with him or she would save him. Yet even if she did get him into cover, there was no hope for him, for his wounds were fatal. He was in pain, Kiowa could see that.

“Father…”

He snapped at her, his fangs cutting into the flesh on her muzzle.

“I am dead already, leave me!”

Another shot rang out and Kapu’s eye widened with pain as another bloody hole appeared in his back. He fell sideways onto the ground, gasping for breath. Kapu exposed his throat to his daughter, pain flooding over him.

“Kiowa…” He stammered.

Kiowa blinked away the tears from her eyes and opened her jaws. Her head leapt forward, taring into her father’s throat and ending his life and suffering.

The men in the plane would later recount the site they had witnessed through their binoculars about one wolf putting another out of misery. No one would believe them, thinking that an animal could never do such a thing, but the men would hold true to their story and would never hunt wolves again.

After she had killed her father, Kiowa bolted away towards the woods. The horrible sound of the bird faded into the distance as she sprinted through the woods.

She traveled on and then met Harquilen whom she fell into a desperate love with. Both wolves had no one, but wanted something. They became mates and in the spring Kiowa gave birth to 10 puppies.

When her puppies were only a few weeks old, Harquilien was caught in a human trap. Frightened and haunted by memories, Kiowa did not go to his aid as he howled. For a long time he howled until finally his howl was cut off by a loud bang. Kiowa huddled in her den, protecting her puppies and whining. Over the next few days, when he mate did not return, Kiowa left her puppies and hunted. Everything went perfect until a hunter happened upon the den.

Kiowa caught his scent while out hunting and turned back toward her den. She ran as fast as her legs would carry her, but she knew she was too late. The man had a shiny and sharp looking rock in his hand. She had never seen anything like it. But Kiowa did not stop to think about it. 4 of her puppies lay next to each other, their young throats slashed.

Kiowa launched herself at the man, reminding herself briefly of her father. The man turned just in time to feel Kiowa’s jaws on his throat. He let out a scream as Kiowa’s fangs broke the skin. Gripping the jugular vein in her bloody jaws, Kiowa ripped out the human’s throat. She jumped away from him snarling as he hit the ground, dead. Despite the fact that she knew he was dead, Kiowa tore at him. She tore at his chest, his arms, his legs. She ripped his flesh until it could barely be said the man was once human.

Standing on top of the human’s remains, Kiowa licked her lips greedily. She tasted the salty blood in her mouth and loved it. With a new tint to her optics, Kiowa let forth a victorious howl. After that she feasted on the human’s bitter flesh.

She traveled with her two remaining sons further into the wilderness. The smaller of her sons was kicked in the head by a large stag and died soon after. With her one remaining son, Miakoda, Kiowa wondered endlessly.

On a hot summer day, Kiowa was traveling through a patch of dense woods with her son. She heard and loud snap beneath her paw and jumped away. The human trap caught her ankle and she yipped in pain. Kiowa looked at her son and saw he was grinning. He had never quite liked her after he had seen what she had done to the human. Miakoda snorted with satisfaction and turned away from her. An angry growl filled Kiowa’s throat, but she turned to the matter at paw.

As painful as it was, Kiowa pulled her paw free. It was a broken and bloody mess, but she knew she had to get away before the humans came. Kiowa limped as far and as fast as she could. Over the next few months she lived off small game until her paw was fully healed. There was no long term damage and not even the tiniest scar.

Kiowa vowed to herself, if she ever met her son again, she would kill him. He had betrayed her and left her to die.

For a year she traveled until she met Acka, who was at the time a simple loner. There was another female Acka was arguing with named Mecca when Kiowa entered. The two feas were surrounded by perhaps a dozen other wolves, quietly listening.

Kiowa later discovered that Mecca and Acka wanted to form a pack and lead as Alphess, but they did not want to fight as they were friends. The wolves around them were all loners looking to join a pack. As it worked out, Acka and Mecca agreed to both lead packs and split the land they ruled over in half. The loners then decided which pack they would join. One of the young wolves was kin to Mecca and was friends with all the other younger wolves. In the end, Acka’s pack only gathered four members; Estel…her mate, Tyko..her Chief Fighter, Layla…Her Chief Hunter and then Kiowa, who had become quick friends with Acka, as Betan. And so began the Honovi pack.

The pack soon grew bigger as rumors of a new pack reached the ears of loners. A wolf named Condor came in and soon became Beta and Kiowa’s mate. In between that lay much happenings. Layla was shot by a human while out hunting and Acka killed the human. Then, right around after Kiowa and Condor became mates, a wolf who served the humans came in and attacked Acka, whom was pregnant. Estel, her mate, jumped in the way and fought the wolf. In the end, both wolves went over a cliff and died.

Acka had given birth to all dead cubs…all dead except for one. If you spoke to Acka of this cub she could get a hard look in her orbs and say the cub died at birth with her siblings, but in truth, that was a lie. Kiowa became god mother to Vixen, Acka’s beautiful white cub. Acka had been sad more a few months after that, in which time more curses pleaded the Honovi pack.

Vixen killed two of the males in the Honovi and had then run away. Kiowa and the rest of the Honovi pack had never known why. Then, a plane crashed in the forest, bringing with it, a 13 year old human girl and an enormous black wolf who liked nothing better than to fight. Acka wanted to help them and tried, but the wolf, Duvessa, thought that they wanted to hurt the human girl, Serenity, whom she thought of as a cub. Duvessa attacked Acka, but this time it was Kiowa who jumped in the way. Acka was strong and shouted that she would take care of it, but Kiowa would not hear of it. She would have died for Acka.

Kiowa fought Duvessa and, surprisingly, had won. When it was over, both wolves were baldy injured, but Kiowa had Duvessa pinned with her fangs warningly around Duvessa’s throat. To make a long story short, Duvessa and Serenity became friends with the Honovi pack, but eventually went back to live with humans. Serenity…she was the single human Kiowa had ever come to like, for she was more like a wolf trapped in the body of a human.

More time passed and then Acka and Kiowa had a huge argument. A human child, of only 6 months old, was mysteriously found in the pack lands one day during a huge storm. The pack was sheltered in a cave, waiting the storm out. Kiowa had found the human baby on her way to the cave. She had wanted to go back out in the storm and take the child to the humans so that it would be okay. Acka would not let Kiowa go out, in fear that the femme would get lost and die. Kiowa begged Acka, but the Alphess stood strong. The storm raged on for three more days and no matter how much Kiowa tried, the human child died. Kiowa would not forgive Acka. She buried the baby like she would one of her own cubs and would not speak to anyone within the pack. A few days later Kiowa broke her bonds with Condor and left the Honovi pack.

Now she comes upon the land of soul of the wild, her heart dark and heavy. She knows the time has once again come for her to find a pack. But which of the four does she truly belong to?
