Yes Mafia 2 has finally, after years of rumours and discussions, been announced
to be released in 2008 (Month and day is yet to be revealed). However a
couple of weeks ago a trailer was released. You can download the entire,

The trailer is much better than the previous one, obviously.
The character animation is much better now and now they
almost look like actual people, unlike the old game where they
looked sort of cartoonish. However the trailer wasn't made with
the actual game engine, like the GTA IV trailers were, and people
have said that this is probably what the videos in the game will
look like and the game play will be less detailed but still very
awesome. Like in the old game where the videos show more
details than the game play does.

According to Wikipedia.org you play as the character named Vito and
you work for a Mafia boss named Luca. This is not necessarily what
the trailer shows us. Here is some pictures based on Wikipedia's info
and my thoughts.



Some people say that the "Unnamed" guy is Eddie. But I see no
resemblence to the character which they call Eddie in the trailer
and the guy next to Luca. And I like to think that he is high up in
the Mafia because of this:



He doesn't have to suck up to Luca for some reason, maybe
he is equally/higher ranked than Luca. Maybe Luca is not the
boss after all, maybe he is a captain. I came to this conclusion
when I remembered a sequence from a Sopranos episode
where Tony realizes that everybody is sucking up to him
because he is the boss, so this might be a similar situation
(possibly a nod to Sopranos?). And another thing: He is also
eating, Joe and Vito are not (it looks like they just came in) so the
"Unnamed" guy and Luca might have been eating together
at first and then Luca and Joe might have come in later
(since they are both wearing Jackets and the Unnamed guy
and Luca both have suits).

And this guy doesn't look anything like the "Unnamed" guy
who everybody says is Eddie. So that's a mistake by some
source....somewhere.

Hope I cleared some shit up at least. :P

Anyways, the animation looks great as you can see. The backgrounds,
the characters, the little details like the food and the
glasses are "see through". Anyway you need to buy this
game when it comes because it's going to be SWEEEET!
