I am the adminstrator of the site, pinkfloyd, and I would like any suggestions on how to inprove the site in any way. They would be much appreciated.

ok First of all you need to have the rules catagory at the top of the about the site bit second of all you need to get more members lets estimate 100+ but that bit takes time and advertising.

Where would I advertise to get more members? I am part of the largest Pink Floyd forum online and have got the website name in my signature. Would that be the sort of thing?

Dont Just Have it in your sig Post It In the write section, If there isnt a secton then personal message the Admin.

Bear in mind that that website is being sold and nobody knows if the Pink Floyd Forum part is going to be sold it is good in my case of getting members but bud and unfortunate in the fact that that is the best Pink Floyd forum in my eyes, and has the best members.

IMO, you should take away the Albums section seeing as that you have a sub-forum for each album anyway. I also posted Favorite Song polls in every sub-forum so far from Piper to Atom Heart.

I thought that having a seperate Albums sub-forum could be used for posts such as Best Album and stuff like that. Also, on this site you can have a maximum of 20 poll choices, which will make it easier to create polls like Best Album.

Hey, thanks a lot pf! I've never been a moderator on any website before. I just thought I'd help out on this board because we only have a few members. So now when new members register on here, instead of starting their own polls, they can go straight to mine and vote for their favorite song. I'll finish the song polls for every other album if you want..

That means that you can warn members due to you being a moderator. To warn them if you feel it is necessary you can click on the add button. Don't worry - you haven't done anything wrong!!

Perhaps merging the compilation albums, becuase for comps there's: A Colleaction Of Great Dance Songs, Works, Echoes and Relics. And what about Live Albums and Tributes?

No problem. You deserve it. Hopefully if I can get more members to join the site will be even better - I am only 13 and none of my friends like Pink Floyd so it is a little hard to advertise.

You should continue advertising on Pink Floyd Online. Hopefully that site WILL go down the drain :lol: There's a couple of people there that I'm not too fond of and there is always arguments.

That's a good idea. Put Relics, Works, ACOGDS, and Echoes into 1 sub-forum. And maybe create a separate sub-forum for live albums.

Yeah. I have found out that they are doing maintanence but as soon as that is completed it will be fine.

actually. the co.nr site is always down. maybe like 10 days out of a month is it up for some reason. so you could also try www.tk thats just as good of a site, the only thing i dont like is the amount of info you have to give.

What's the problem with this board being an InvisionFree board? I think we should leave it as it is. Because we might have to start all over.

Inivision free is good, its the BEST free host on the net, i have tried over 100 free hosts and all the others have gone once i have created a 50 member forum plus other once have post limits and member limits,


Invision free Is the BEST free one on the net the only way you can get better is if you pay.

ya know what i'm saying? its not only more appealing and easier to type in, but it also looks ALOT more professional which will also attract people to come here. i'm not sure if its just me, but when i search something in google, i usually click on the sites that looks professional, not like geocities sites and stuff.

its just a suggestion that i think would make this site more appeasing and easier to locate and easier to use just overall.

I know what you mean Benerack and I agree with you. I thought you meant changing the actual board to something different. But I know that you're saying changing the link name would be easier. And I agree with you completely, it would be easier to type in and it DOES look more professional, at least IMO.

You're top heavy. 11 Registered Members, and what, 5 or 6 Mods, Plus Pinkfloyd there is the Admin. You need to have enough members to warrent your mods. As of right now, you can get by with 1, 2 max. There, I've said my piece. :ph43r:

I think you could have a "lyrics" section for lyrical discussions and posting of lyrics,and I also wanted to say I like how the site is really organized, once more people join it will become the new PFO!

We could do with a few extra smilies for posting, i don't usually use a lot of smilies but the rocker one on PFO does come in handy sometimes.

You/Someone could use wikipedia to put this site in the external links section of the pages related to Pink Floyd, unfortuanately you need special rights to edit the main PF page but you could put this site as an external link for each of the albums and possibly for each of the band members. This would be good, free advetisement.

you could put it in the general Pink Floyd discussion area, and also I suggest you put Zabriskie Point in the albums section.

I think doing that would make it a little too advertised, then maybe some nonPF fans would come and it could ruin the site.....thats just my opinion though, it might be a good idea
