So...I'm posting this for all of those people out there who, like myself (and, I'm assuming, from the mad family tree, Tsuko), who like to obsess over details. My question:
Exactly how is the ceremony going to go?
What we know now:
+Preists=2. Tsuko participates in officiating. The boys (Enderron and the heir) are getting married at roughly the same time.
+Horses are present. Horses are presentS. Rhys is in charge of the procession and leading the head of the train.
+There is a seating area for the guests, and servants (I'm assuming caterers and the like) are off to the sides.
What I want to know:
+What's Rhys going to, er, do? Just ride in, all impressive, and stand there with a large number of beautiful horses? Are the couples going to ride out on the horses? What? How many horses are there (if Tsuko wants to impress, which I'm betting he is, I'd suggest somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty. Fifty would be a headache, but twenty is large enough to impress and small enough to manage tolerably well, particularly if the horses are new to each other and don't have an established pecking order among them.)
+What are the guests going to do? I suggested some ritual gift-giving in the past and I know Iffalna brought gifts because the Marlas peasantry give gifts at weddings, but where will it occur? Will the wedding even get to that point without interruption?
+Ifflana and Blyth. Does Tsuko know they're Slayers? Does he know who Iffalna is (or is pretending to be)?
Anyway. Just thought this would be a good place to brainstorm a little!
Tsuko knows that Blyth is assassin but doesn't know he is a Slayer. He has no idea who Iffalna is. As for the wedding, I was under the impression that the ceremony happens simultaneously. The reception afterward is a place for gifts. I would think the horses are just to impress and not to ride out on but these are just my ideas.
I think the horses are led in near the end of the ceremony... it might be a nice touch if the final bows were done with the newlyweds on the horses, and they ride off together? Some variation on that.
20 seems... rather high... to be packing into a relatively small place :look though we could always, of course, have a "representative sample", with the rest understood to be waiting out somewhere else after the ceremony (as a part of the gift-giving?).
Yeah, I like the gift-giving idea. I'm thinking it will occur back inside (because right now all the chairs and stuff are set outside), though having it happen outside will provide a better place for the assassin to be. Though, I suppose, the assassin could approach Jenin and give a "gift"/kill him, I'd like the attack to appear a bit more random then that... I'd like it if Tsuko would have at least a reasonable chance to feel paranoid that the attack was AIMED AT HIM!!! ('member, this wedding is all about him, in his thought patterns, at least. he's just good at masking those thought patterns, even to some extent to himself)
