Name: Khira Mayada of Ghayth
Sex: Female
Age: 17
Occupation: Noble
Status & Rank: Lady of House Ghayth
Roots & Origin:
Khira’s blood cannot be denied. Her grandfather was the High Seat Aerandir Surion’s younger brother, Adeoner Nori. Adeoner was a bit of an embarrassment to the House because he hadn’t inherited the wit and political mindset that was distinctive to the House, unlike his brother. No one respected Adeoner much, and he wasn’t seen as a threat to Aerandir or anyone else, and that might have been the reason why he was allowed to survive.
Adeoner married his half-cousin Liliane Anayada of Ghayth. They lead a quiet life in one of Adeoner’s estates away from Ivria. There they had three children: Adrianne Liana, Kirion Mear and Layana Aner. The three all grew to be intelligent, confident and haughty with a taste for power, quite unlike their parents. It was Layana, the youngest daughter, who finally poisoned her own parents at the age of nineteen because she felt like they were holding her back. They were all quite high-ranking nobles, but their parents had kept them in the countryside, away from the schemes and politics in Ivria. But the children wanted power, they wanted to be noted, so as soon as they got rid of their parents they were off to Ivria, where they were grudgingly welcomed.
They fitted right in. It seemed that all the talents of House Ghayth had just skipped a generation, because the three were all brilliant schemers and had a fondness for culture and art. Adrianne married her distant cousin, a widower Marquess who wanted a trophy-wife, to fortify her position, and two years later poisoned her husband, although she was never publicly accused. Layana married the eldest son of Adrianne’s husband, becoming Lady Earl. Kirion was a Marquess as the heir of Adeoner, but he married Kiara Rana of Ivria, a Lady of a minor House. And that was a marriage of love. Kirion was twenty-nine when Khira Mayada was born, and despite the couple’s efforts, Kiara wasn’t able to carry another child. So Lady Khira Mayada is currently the only grandchild of the late Adeoner Nori.
Appearance:
Khira is beautiful, and she knows it. She has bright blue eyes with long black lashes that are just perfect for batting. She likes to enhance her eyes with some cosmetics, just enough for it to pass unnoticed but still make an effect. She takes good care of her pale skin and slightly rosy cheeks. Her eyebrows are always groomed and her full lips are always red. Her long strawberry-blond locks only seem unruly; she always brushes her hair until it shines and arranges the locks to her liking.
5'6'' tall and slim, her body is perfect for snug dresses. She always wears beautiful dresses of finest silk. She loves white and other pale colours, but sometimes she wants to shock with bright colours like red or orange. She is girlish even though she is nearly an adult, and she doesn’t hide her youthful spirit but enhances it with her clothes. But she always remembers to enhance her hips and bosom as well. She is always fully aware of how she looks, and she always strives to look her best.
Strengths:
-Very intelligent and highly educated. She wants to be more intelligent than anyone else, so she keeps on studying whenever and whatever possible.
-Plays the harp almost perfectly with ease.
-Beautiful, and knows how to enhance her appearance to perfection. Knows how to flirt and grab a man’s attention.
-Has the unconditional support of her parents and her aunts, who are all quite powerful nobles in House Ghayth.
Weaknesses:
-Khira is pampered, there is no denying it. Her parents have always provided her with almost everything she could think of, so she is used to getting what she wants. If she is denied something, she can react quite dramatically.
- Khira has a problem with authority. Her own parents have never tried any kind of rules or restrictions on her, and they have never told her to do something. She obeys orders without a word as long as she thinks that succeeding in it will bring her praises and attention. If she is told to do something she doesn’t want to do, she can get very difficult indeed.
-She wants attention. She wants to be praised. She is a show-off, basking in the limelight. If she doesn’t get the attention she wants, she pouts and mopes. If someone else gets more attention or praises than she does, she pouts and mopes.
-Khira is a perfectionist in a way. She thinks she is better than everyone else, and if she is proven wrong, she first mopes and then trains or studies until she is better than everyone else. She is never completely happy with herself until she is the best in everything.
-Khira is not yet as ruthless and scheming as a Lady of House Ghayth should be. She is quite happy with her position at the moment, and doesn’t really think about her future in the House much yet. She knows that she will have to find a husband if she wants to be powerful, but her ambitions haven’t risen yet.
-Khira is still a child. Her parents like to think of her as a child, and she likes to act like one. If she wants to become a true noble, she will have to mature and soon.
Magic: Not Applicable
Personality:
Khira is a very nice person. She is friendly and she smiles and laughs a lot. She loves to entertain, and she plays the harp whenever appropriate. She is confident and intelligent and likes to take part in political discussions. She is genuinely pleased when people compliment her. She is beautiful and flirtatious, but she never lets a man go any further than a dance or a peck on the cheek unless he has really made an impression. She is well-mannered, if a bit over-confident sometimes. And her parents and aunts would never say a word against her.
But she mopes. A lot. When she can’t get what she wants when she wants it, she mopes. When someone criticizes her, she mopes. When someone doesn’t pay attention to what she is saying or return her flirts, she mopes. When someone is more intelligent or more beautiful than she, she mopes. She wants to be perfect, she wants to be complimented, she wants to be unique and special. If things don’t go her way, she mopes. She pouts her lips and crosses her arms, quite aptly emphasizing her full lips and bosom, and sometimes goes as far as bursts into tears. If this doesn’t correct the situation or at least get her a bit of attention, she retires to her rooms and won’t come out for a suitable period of time, be it hours or days. And her parents always comfort her when she mopes.
And she really does want to be perfect. She studies continuously. She buys dresses that make her look even more beautiful. She trains with the harp, and recently has taken up learning to make poisons with her aunts, although she doesn’t really see a reason to use them yet. She wants to know absolutely everything. Before she does, she is content with knowing more than anyone else.
History:
Khira Mayada was Kirion and Kiara’s lovechild, so she was pampered since the moment she was born. Anything and everything was provided for the young girl who charmed even the most cold-hearted noble with her blue eyes, unruly locks and sweet smile. She was an easy baby who hardly ever cried, just giggled happily and smiled. Her parents loved her, as did her aunts who were both childless.
When she was about three years old, she had already gotten used to getting whatever she wanted. She asked for everything she could think of, everything she had seen someone else have. She had learned to ask her mother or father for something in a sweet voice, smiling innocently, and if that failed, which happened very rarely, she just pouted for a while and possibly cried but never screamed. It always worked. She soon needed another room just for all the toys and other things she never used but wanted to have anyway. Her parents thought she deserved it all and quickly shrouded in icy impoliteness anyone who dared to criticize their method of raising their daughter.
Khira wasn’t a malicious child, but she knew that she was privileged and enjoyed the unconditional love and attention she received from her parents and aunts and did think that she was somehow better than any other child. She was a bit of a bully and very haughty, knowing that she could do almost anything and not get punished. That is why she liked to pull pranks and even steal toys and things from others. She never did anything really bad or serious, because she wasn’t sure if she could get away with absolutely everything, and she wasn’t too keen on finding out. She loved her parents and didn’t want to cause them serious trouble with other nobles.
When she was about five, her training began. Her mother and father taught her everything they knew, especially since it seemed that they would not be able to have another child. Her aunts taught her as well, and she had most of the libraries and scholars in Ivria at her disposal. She liked to learn, she loved private lessons and the praises she got when she had learned or memorized something. She loved politics, history and arts, and she started playing the harp when she was six. Above all, she loved the attention.
That is why she trained and studied and practiced the harp. She wanted to be complimented. The attention she got from pranks and mischief didn’t satisfy her anymore. She got everything she wanted as far as her material needs were concerned, but she wanted everyone to notice how unique, smart and beautiful she was. She wanted them to see how much better she was than anyone else. If she missed a note or gave a wrong answer to someone, or if someone criticized her, she quite often burst into tears and ran to her parents for comfort. Gradually her confidence in her intelligence and abilities grew as the praises accumulated. When she was eleven, she didn’t seek for attention, she demanded it.
She kept on training and studying and her parents couldn’t have been prouder. Khira was happy that her parents were content with her, so she trained and studied further and further. Her aunts taught her more ruthless parts of being a Lady, like using and making some elementary poisons. She also practiced using a dagger in self defense. Her aunts taught her to choose only dresses of finest silk and colours that complimented her hair and eyes. She grew to be a very beautiful and intelligent young woman who radiated confidence.
But when she turned fifteen, her life became a bit more complicated than before. People were starting to say no to her! Sometimes she was politely but firmly denied entrance to gatherings and her parents just wouldn’t buy her a mansion in the countryside. And she was told to obey some of the higher-ranking nobles. It was all very new and shocking for her since her parents had never denied anything from her before. Her first reaction was to dramatically burst into tears and run away and mope for a few hours, but that didn’t seem to work anymore! She learned to live with the idea that there were some things that weren’t accessible or acceptable even for her. After the revelation, she quickly learned what those things were, and pretended that she didn’t want them anyway.
But she still loved the attention and the fact that she was brighter, more talented and more beautiful than everyone else. If there was someone brighter, more talented or more beautiful than Khira, she either tried to ignore the person or outwit them in some other way or just sulked. She especially loved the attention she now got from the opposite sex, flirting openly with anyone with a bit of looks and a title. Her parents planned to raise her as their heir, but if she wanted a title she would have to marry someone, which probably wouldn’t be a problem. In every aspect she was a perfect noble and would no doubt go far in House Ghayth, her parents thought. But she was still their little girl, and her life as an independent mastermind hadn’t even begun.
I have no objections to it. ^^
