Name: Enderron Kelesi of Marlas
Sex: Male
Age: 16
Occupation: None; he lives in his father’s house.
Status & Rank: Enderron is noble by his father, but he has not title in House Marlas because of the female succession rule. He uses his rank, as his father does, to lord over the peasants (not with disrespect, but rather, with mind to position). Unlike his father though, the merchant class doesn’t bother him a whole lot.
Roots & Origin: Son of Tsuko Marlas and Emeila. He grew nurtured and cared for by his father. His mother, the more practical of the two, was always keeping things in order around the household, along with his aunt. (If you want more information, go to either Tsuko’s profile or the Marlas family tree (if you can read it)).
Appearance: Enderron does not look like a Marlas. Since his mother was so pale, his skin is more of a tan color much lighter than his father’s. Very few of the peasant folk realize that he belongs to House Marlas on just his appearance.
Of his facial features, he has high cheekbones and a hooked nose, both from his mother’s side. This gives him the appearance of a sort of vulture, ready to pick anybody apart. His hawkish face might have dragged him down if it wasn’t for his body.
Because of his obsession with athletics, Enderron’s body is toned. Let’s just say that girls do not look at his face. He has been an early bloomer and he stands about 6’ 1”. Because of his towering stature, if someone were to look at his face, they would see a very frightening visage. He is large, though not fat, and muscles bulge under his skin. His delight in swordplay and spear wielding, keep his body constantly toned.
He hates wearing ceremonial clothing. If he were to choose, he would either be constantly naked or wearing armor. He owns several suits of armor, many of them gifts from his uncle, the Head of Armies. His favorite is embossed with fine gold print in a language he can’t read. It was his uncle’s gift to him on his sixteenth birthday. Since then, there has not been a day where he has not worn it at least once. He also prefers this suit because it can be worn to ceremonial occasions.
Strengths:
· Throughout his formal education, Enderron has worked hard. He is of above average intelligence. He can read and write very well. His best subject, by far, is horses which all royal children are taught about but his passion goes much further.
· He is excels with both the sword and the spear. He trains constantly because he likes it. Working his body is not only a hobby, but also an addiction.
· His demeanor is always positive and kind towards others. He especially gets along well with his three sisters, although at sixteen they are starting to annoy him a little. He tries to be genteel to all and solve his conflicts with words before resorting to violence.
· Through work in school and his interest in the army, he has become a good strategist. He is resourceful and can find a win-win solution to many arguments. He has long dreamt of leading the Marlas army but with his standing in the house, it is unlikely to happen. His relationship with his uncle is also good because of this.
· He knows a lot about horses. He has a passion for the beast and he gets extremely if his dad goes horse buying without him. He knows his father has no knowledge of horses whatsoever.
Weaknesses:
· Although a good thinker, his mind is slow. He does not react well if a situation is pressed for time. The only real thing he can do quickly is to defend himself, as he has trained that with his workouts and drills.
· If his temper is unleashed, which is almost impossible in the first place, Enderron resorts to violence. With his skill in swordplay and his constant armor wearing, this could get him in a lot of trouble. For this reason he carries two swords, one blunt for incapacitating and one sharp for the best defense.
· Enderron is naïve. He tends to believe the best in people and it hasn’t always been the best for him. He is susceptible to subterfuge because of his positive outlook towards people.
· He lacks common sense. This largely frustrates his mother since she is the practical one in the household. In this respect, he takes after his father.
· His lack of experience would greatly hurt him in battle. He has trained a lot, but has never actually experienced combat (his mother prohibits it). He longs for a chance to prove himself.
· Since he is almost always positive, Enderron has problems connecting with people with hardships. He has been raised in luxury and doesn’t grasp the real world very well.
· Enderron loves girls and is not excited about tying the knot. He thinks that getting married will keep him from being able to flirt with all the cute girls in Taye.
Magic: Enderron has always been interested. It would be so helpful if it actually did exist. He has heard tell of the elves and magical creatures from the Barrier.
Personality: Enderron gets along well with his parents, family, and friends. He is constantly happy and his family loves him for it. He is caring and kind to all, no matter who other people think they are.
He is always curious. He has a hunger for knowledge. He sometimes gets wrapped up in things he feels are important, much like his father. Although he is caring and genteel, he doesn’t feel it is necessary to do a lot for common people, completely different from his father in this respect. He believes that people can succeed with hard work and determination.
He can’t understand what people have to be sad about. He feels that life is a blessing from the gods and that every moment of it should be cherished, the good and the bad. He is constantly reminding others to look on the bright side of things. His favorite phrase by far is “Every cloud has a silver lining.” He lives his life to it and tries to see positive in everything.
He very much likes the outdoors and spends as much time as he can outside. He is obedient to his parents because they have been kind but strict in raising him. There was never any room for disobedience in his household.
History: From cradle, Enderron was sunny and cheerful. His maids fawned over him because he was so cute. Both his parents were (and still are) involved in his childhood and young adulthood. As he was growing he would always play soldiers and pretend he was captain. Sometimes he would get to play these games with the real soldiers (who also fawned over him) because of his high standing and his uncle (of whom he was a favorite). It was from these experiences that his fascination with maintaining his body and military procedure arise.
He always got along well with his father because they though so much alike. His father would take time away from his duties to play with his only son and Enderron was more than fine with that. They would play games, mostly outside because he loved the outdoors. His father would take him to the stables because of his fascination in horses, and he would learn from the stable hands the ins and outs of training, breeding, riding, and grooming. When he got older, he would work in the stables for allowance that he could then go spend in Taye.
He also spent a lot of time with his extended family. He became good friends with his cousin, Jenin, next in line for High Seat. His family ties are very close and much of his family constantly fawns over him. The only slightly aloof ones to him are his mother and his aunt, both of whom believe that attention will only spoil him. His father and uncle often get scolded by their wives for giving too much attention to the boy.
Because of the strong female presence in his household and the care of his father and uncle, Enderron is hopelessly in love with girls. They not only attract him, but he loves the attention that they give him. He is not excited to get married because of the coldness of his bride. Whenever he has met her, she has not fallen all over him like most girls. At the same time, this coldness attracts him and he hopes there is actually adoration under the icy demeanor.
