Call me Hope Kinsey
If age were just a number i'd be sixteen
i'm only human
This years girl
Just an ordinary vampire huntress
If looks were everything
When it comes to this bold girl's appearance, individuality is key. She would certainly stand out in a crowd and it's hard not to notice her, whether that's because of her unique style and wardrobe or her very particular hair styles. Most would consider her a tom boy, simply because she is usually in the company of guys rather than girls - yet when it comes to her appearance, she is the complete opposite. Despite her not particularly feminine personality, shopping is one of her favourite pastimes, and her extensive wardrobe reflects this.
like most other sixteen year old girls, takes perhaps more pride than necassary in her looks. She will refuse to leave her room unless having perfected her make up, or if her hair is slightly out of place. Naturally, Hope's hair is a very dark brown, falling in fine, wavy locks. Yet, to her, this was always dull, and when she was fourteen went all out for a shocking pink look, something which disturbed her parents. It clashed with anything and everything she wore, but to Hope, it was perfect. Since then, her hair has ranged to every colour dye they make, and currently rests on a cherry red, finely layered and a few inches below sholder length. Her eyes, perhaps one of her favourite features, are the opposite of dull. They are icy blue and piercing, yet when Hope smiles grow softer. To anyone that knows the girl it is easy enough to tell anything she is thinking through her eyes, something she hates as it is known to give her away if she isn't being entirely truthful.
Her figure isn't quite what she'd want it to be - Hope's quite short, standing at about five feet five inches. Although she is in amazing physical condition from the amount of excerside she does every day.
Any clothes she wears are usually rather unique. A typical outfit of her's would consist of a t-shirt or loose sleeveless top with a ripped skirt or drainpipe jeans, a pair of worn trainers to top it off. She wears hot pink and black, burgundy, pale blue and anything else that takes the form of something that stands out. Her most prized possession is her converses, and she won't leave the house without them.
Looks aren't everything
It is only natural that the natural presence and confidence is reflected in her words and thoughts. Hope is a girl of her own judgment, to put it simply.
Control. It's one thing that Hope lacks and she hates it, she hates the fact that she can't make all (while she can most) people do what she wants and she can't have power. But it's another story in fights. She may sometimes have an instructor telling her what to do, but she absolutely owns the steps and moves as if they were her own. She takes them and adapts it to her style, molding it and bending it to what she wants.
Dating. If she wishes, she can apply this to men. Hope has become a pro when it comes to guys. She can turn on a sultry charm whenever she wishes and would probably get them to go home with her. She has yet to meet a guy who can resist, and when she does, she'll happily enjoy the challenge. But just because she is a bit of a flirt doesn't mean she has no guys that are 'just friends'. Unfortunately, what goes up must come down and those many boyfriends who have come out of relationships with Hope often label her as a slut of. Truthfully though, she may deserve the title. Hope only needs the perfect man to hold her down...
Temper. You upset her, don't expect to live the rest of your life peacefully. She'll do whatever it takes to get back at you, for whatever you did. Cheat on her three-day boyfriend, expect sabotage. Say something behind your back, expect something ten-times more lashing.
Partying. She loves to drink. She loves to party. A night on the town is the perfect remedy to anything, or even if it's a tuned-down home-made rave. The energy shocks her and it's a feeling of euphoria that she cannot resist.
Humanity. Believe it or not, Hope is human afterall. Below the cover of cheap enjoyment, she is like anyone else. Or, kind of. Knowing the kind of knowledge she knows and fighting what she does needs a great deal of inhumanity, or she'd be collapsing in tears every night and the constant guilt would weigh down on her. No. She has humanity, humanity for those who are human, not those who used to be human. Being the way she is she has naturally thick skin and has developed method after method for keeping emotions at bay.
looking back
Hope Kinsey was born, a healthy baby, one perfect August evening, a few miles out of Miami. She was her parent's second child, with one older sister, Sarah, who was a mere year older than her. Growing up in a small town just North of Miami, Hope was never particularly close to her parents, let alone her sister. She prefered to be left to do her own thing, and escaped the house were possible, spending any other spare time in her room, door locked, music blaring.
As Hope got older, she became seemingly more distant from her family. Her elder sister was exactly what her parents wanted; feminine, pretty, slim. Yet next to her Hope was the opposite, skinny, scrawny, spending her time in the company of guys. At school, she achieved decent grades in most of her classes, but never excelled in much - except in anything involving physical excersize. It became her passion, and soon she found herself desperately wanting to do nothing else. Her parents completely disagreed with what she was getting herself into, finding it all seriously ridiculous. Hope ignored their opinion and started attending clubs, doing martial arts proffesionally and running every night.
After receiving an invitation from the government to become a 'Vampire Hunter' her parents immeadiatley refused and so, feeling particuarly risky, Hope disowned herself and was adopted to a Ms. Sterling who encouraged Hope to get into this government programme, wich was where Hope eventually learnt of the creatures of the night, and how to fight them.
Hope loves this idea and has killed a fair few despite her young age, she loves it and prefers actually fighting to guns and machinery mostly because of her excellent physical condition.
