Title: Lizardmen Febuari 2009!
Description: New Army Book and minis!

Onisuzume - October 22, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
Ok, I've shamelessly ripped this from warseer/BoLS:

The new Lizardmen are supposed to come out 9 febuari 2009. (almost a month after my b-day  )

The new models consist of:
- plastic Temple Guard, 10 per box, £12 / $25
- plastic Stegadon, 1 per box with options for all three variants, $40
- metal/plastic Kroxigor, 1 model per blister, $20 (conflicting rumours)
- metal Terradons, 1 model per blister, $17
- Barbed Razordon Hunting Party $25
- Scar Veteran wity army standard $15
- Tiktaq'To, Master of Skies $17
- Chakax, Eternity Warden $15
- Warhammer Armies: Lizardmen $25
- Something other than a spearhead box

Blessed spawnings will play a much bigger role in the army, with almost every unit being able to take them.
So yes, that includes temple guard, kroxigor and cold one riders, as well as the skinks and saurus warriors.
It is currently unknown if it'll work in a way similiar to the current way. (1 spawning = +1 rarity, 2 spawnings = +2 rarity)

The effects are fairly unknown right now save of the Spawning of Huanchi, which'll give the blessed unit +1WS as well as the ability to move through cover with no penalty. (might be wooded cover only)

The Cold-Blooded rule might change dramatically: instead of rolling an extra die and discarding the highest, we might end up rolling only two dice like everyone else, but with each and every double counting as Insane Courage (or similiar), which will auto-pass the test regardless of modifiers. (wonder what would happen if we roll a double 6)

Lore of the Old Ones, supposedly a Slann-only lore of magic with high cost/effect spells.

Magic Items: no more Charm of the Jaguar Warriors, which will probably herald the end of the venerable JSoDs.

Army List:
Lords:
Slann: supposedly get their own lore of magic.
Oldblood: may be able to ride a stegadon.

Heroes:
Scar-Veteran: may be able to ride a stegadon.
Skink Chief: may be able to ride a stegadon.
Skink Priest: may be able to ride an engine of the gods.

Character Mounts:
Stegadon: supposedly all characters may be able to ride one and probably takes up an additional hero slot as well.
Engine of the Gods: probably like the one in the Lustria book, and probably takes up an additional hero slot as well, this one's mounted on a stegadon rather than the arcanadon.

Supposed special characters:
Lord Kroak
Kroq-Gar
Nakai the Wanderer: probably the reknown kroxigor legend.
Tehenhauin
Tiktaq'To, Master of the Skies: supposedly a skink riding a terradon.
Chakax, Eternity Warden: supposedly a temple guard character.
Lord Mazdamundi
Oxayotl, the Firstspawned Stalker: chameleon skink character.
Ten-Zlati, Herald of Kroak: upgrade for Lord Kroak
Lotl Botl: unit upgrade
Skink of a special horned one
Skink blessed by Tlazcotl with a mirror
Intelligent saurus wearing the skin of a Coatl.

Troops:
Saurus Warriors: 1-2 points cheaper, scaly skin might go back to 5+, 1 unit may take a magic banner if you have an oldblood
Skink Skirmishers: can get sacred spawnings.
Temple Guard: cheaper and can get sacred spawnings, no more 0-1 per slann though unable to take an entire army of them, can get magical attacks (upgrade or otherwise).

Special:
Saurus Cavalry: 4 points cheaper, can get sacred spawnings (quetzl/sotek and 2 others).
Kroxigor: new models, light armour in addition to scaly skin, can get sacred spawnings.
Stegadon: new model, moved from rare.
Terradons: new models, still US1, cheaper, can take Quetzl/Sotek spawnings
Chameleon skinks
Salamander Hunting Packs: moved from rare, breath weapon uses template now, unknown if/how multiple packs work.

Rare:
Ancient Stegadon: different weapon than the regular steggy's bolt thrower, different stats than regular steggy.
Barbed Razordon Hunting Packs: new dino herded by skinks, BS4 artillery die shots, double artillery die shots if standing still(or as stand&shoot charge reaction), supposedly look like Ankylosaurus.

Other rumoured rules:
Ranked skink units like in Lustria, possibly with added kroxigor.
Skink Horned One Riders from southlands.
More mount options for skink characters.

And last but not least; some links to pictures:

A quick update since I saw the army book yesterday, but I can't buy it until next tuesday.

Cold Blooded special rule remains the same!
Blessed Spawnings are *gone*, with only some mentioning of it in fluffboxes.
Kroq-Gar still has his spawning though.
