Alright, I just started picking up Lizardmen units for a new army, and I'm curious what to get. I was an old 5th edition player, back when Terradons dropped rocks and Stegadons were skittish, but money and relocation issues caused me to part ways with my army. I'm starting back up in 6th and have already picked up a few units (and of course, the book). I'm not trying to build a set-point army right now, but instead looking at grabbing enough so I could field between 2 and 3 thousand points. Here's what I've gotten thus far:
-Slann Mage Priest (5th ed. converted for new base size)
-Saurus Scar-Vet
-10 temple guard
-24 Saurus with Spears
-24 Saurs with Hand Weapons, shield
-20 skinks with blowpipes (2 uints of ten)
-20 skinks with javelins, shield (2 units of ten)
-1 salamander
I'm, obviously going to grab two more salamanders and at least another five temple guard, but I'm not sure if I should grab a second unit after that, or buy a stegadon. Also, should I go with Kroxigors, Terradons, or a bit of both? I haven't decided yet if I want speed or power, but I guess I'm going to have to decide soon, aren't I?
Thanks for any advice you can offer.
The best thing probably to do right now is to play a couple of matches against some mates at whatever point size and see what type of play you like.
I'd recommend grabbing some Kroxigors, though. They're useful even if your going for more of a hit and run type team and are always great if you have the points.
You also might want to pick up some skink priests to boost your magic, especially if your playing at a smaller point size and can't afford the points to deck uot you mage-priest.
Edit: Almost forgot! Welcome to the forums, I hope you enjoy it here.
