Title: Fast/ Monster Heavy Armies

does any one use armies without saurus in them? i mean with all fast units, like skinks, CoR, Kroxies, and stedagons (and sallies)? Or maybe using ancient scar leader kroq gar, with lots of Cor? i've been looking around TSP and other online forums and have seen many people say that they hate/ don't use saurus warriors.
Do you?

Those people must be nuts.
The typical problem with a saurus warr focused army is noone like thier units moving so damn slow. Why make an army that moves 4 when you army could move 6?
Admittedly, I do use fast armies which lots of skinks and CoR as a standard 2000 point force, and it works well. But a saurus army, when properly played, works just as well, if not better. They can handle pretty much any block of infantry in the game solo (unless severly outnumbered of course) and the addition of characters, spawnings etc makes them quite versatile (especially spawnings that let them ignore terrain move penalites!).
The beauty of saurus is what you get for the pint cost, multi attack S4 T4 troops with a decent Armor save and cold blooded Ld rolls. If your playing another lizzie player give a saurus warr army a run. if you can keep his flanker occupied with swarms and the like you should win with little problem.

In under 2000pts fast and hard hitting lists are good and i tend to use them in such games. They are very effective in smaller sized games.
However, in 2000pts or more i never, ever go without my beloved saurus ;) .
Cheers.

Skinks, kroxies, terradons, sallies and COR

LM with no saurus work really well against low armour, low movement armies with not to much shooting. But if your playing brettonians, orge kingdoms or an empire player with an obsetion with helblaster (for your skink and sallies unites) and cannons (for Cor, steggies and kroxigors) your won't win a game.

So saurus don't work against mainly most things. I don't know a slow moving, slow armored army.

Damn, there's a lot of youngbeards here..
I only remember Garick and XxKroxigoRxX...
Well, time fo that later :)
Saurus are one of the (if not THE) best infantry units in the game. Especially for a core unit they are really good. They are tough to kill, and are very strong, with 2 attacks @ S4. They reduce armor by one! B) A 4+ CC Armor combined with T4 makes them hard to kill, and here's the best part: they're 12 points each, and Ld8 with cold blooded. They are a rock hard unit with the only disadvantage of having an average/low weaponskill (3) and I1. They kill anything in their path, and are great for mainstay, especially because they are slower then the rest, skinks, CO riders, krox etc are great flankers, except for skinks, but those are ment to weaken the enemy before your saurus hit them
All in all.
Use a combination of saurus and skinks, krox, etc.
