Title: Mad Rants!
Description: Pissed off?
No Roads... - June 4, 2006 06:35 AM (GMT)
Here we go, a forum that you can go on at great lengths in about things that piss you off, or if you had a bad day!
First addition:
Why do people yell at McDonalds employees when their burger takes a couple mins to make... like seriously, you had to wait 3 minutes for your cheeseburger, boohoo.
It was short but felt good!
Shandy - June 4, 2006 01:00 PM (GMT)
^ I don't mind waiting a few minutes sometimes, because I know it will be fresh! Nice and hot.
I think people yell and complain because they feel they have no control over their lives. They are power freaks who, deep down inside, know they aren't any better then McDonalds employees. (I think everyones equal)
hmmm . . . and I can't think of anything to rant about . . . yet
Madstunts - June 4, 2006 07:44 PM (GMT)
^ As if they're going to die if they don't eat in the next thirty seconds.
My computer is really annoying at the moment. Programs crash for no reason, and the whole thing reboots spontaneously every now and again.
Also, it sometimes takes several attempts to turn it on. The power light will come on, and the fans will start, but nothing else. I have to unplug it and plug it back in and try again. Grr.
LonePineKath - June 4, 2006 07:54 PM (GMT)
^ I had to smile when I saw this topic! It's Madstunt's evil twin; Madrants! :)
I could have a rant about work today - it was awful - they left me all alone in the shop all day (everybody else had the day off) so I couldn't even go to the toilet!! To top it all I can't get next Sunday off either because I forgot to get it written down ages ago, it was just a verbal thing.
No Roads... - July 16, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
I just emailed our district manager of restaurants with a great idea that i've been pondering over for the last year and he wrote a professional 2 sentance complete shut down of my idea. Posted below.
"Dear Trevor,
Thank you for your interest in selling energy drinks in our stores, however we think it is a bad idea. The demand is not visible.
Apologies."
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!
Oh and the email i sent to him took me over an hour of effort. It sounded amazingly proffessional.
bttf44 - July 16, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
Mostly what pisses me off are when some of the users at YouTube make these "Isn't he Canadian?" comments in response to Michael J Fox's ad for Claire McCaskill? I've seen these comments get made by Canadians and Americans alike, and my response is - just what the hell difference does it make? He's a HUMAN BEING! He's a PERSON! That's what is most important. A person's nationality does not change that person's basic human needs or that person's worth as a human being! I think having too much nationalism can ultimately divide humanity! It's not like MJF suddenly became a different person when he received US citizenship in the year 2000 - while keeping his Canadian citizenship. He is still the same person that he always was. The only difference is, he can now vote in the US elections. It does not change the inner core of the type of person that he is. Sheesh!
needles1987 - July 16, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
What pisses me off is when my fellow Americans can't tell the difference between a British accent and an Australian accent. They're not that hard to distinguish.
bttf44 - July 16, 2007 11:04 PM (GMT)
I don't want to turn this topic into a political controversy, but I find that American nationalists and Canadian nationalists alike really piss me off. We are all human, and there is no reason to let national borders divide humanity.
The other thing that pisses me off is political bashing from both sides. I admit that I do lean liberal in my views, but it doesn't mean that all conservatives think like Rush Limbaugh. I did make the mistake on another message board of commenting that Alex P Keaton is proof that not all conservatives are hatemongers - and some of the conservative members of that board took issue with that comment, and responded by bashing liberals. The thing is, when I made that comment, I was still bothered by how Rush Limbaugh had the gall to accuse Michael J Fox of "acting" or "exaggerating" the symptoms of his Parkinson's disease - and all those who agreed with Limbaugh were bashing Michael J Fox at that Claire McCaskill campaign video at YouTube.
The thing is, I have nothing against people who don't support embryonic sem cell research. What I do have a problem with, though, are those who malign Michael J Fox because he DOES advocate embryonic stem cell research. There is such a thing as disagreeing respectfully, you know.
Anyway, I don't think Alex P Keaton would be opposed to the concept of global peace and harmony - but he would probably just agree with he liberals views on how to obtain peace and harmony.
Jennifer Mcfly - July 18, 2007 01:05 AM (GMT)
what piss is me off is the rude people i enconterd at disneyland bleh i was push without apoligies by the secoend day i was so exsastued i couldnt enjoy myself~~~~ i wanted to go on more rides but well too many rude people maybe next time i sould go during off seson
needles1987 - July 18, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
People who drive SUVs piss me off. They're the reasons gas prices went up.
bttf44 - July 18, 2007 02:41 AM (GMT)
I'm not a big fan of SUVs myself. Basically, just anybody who dares to bash sweet Michael J Fox really pisses me off!
BTW, I was over at IMDB earlier today - and I see you've been subjected to Jeff Winston's sarcastic wit. I know he's just a character persona who was invented for the internet, but some of his remarks can still be very biting.
Which leads me to another rant. People who use "freedom of speech" as an excuse for acting like an asshat! I understand why Jeff Winston is the way he is, but I just mean in general. There is such a thing as treating others how you'd like to be treated.
needles1987 - July 18, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Yeah, how can you pick on someone as cool as Marty McFly?
bttf44 - July 18, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
I guess because some people feel so strongly about their own beliefs, they feel the need to demonize those who think differently.
needles1987 - July 19, 2007 04:45 PM (GMT)
I get pissed off whenever someone calls Back to the Future a crappy movie. Back to the Future is the best movie ever.
bttf44 - July 19, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
I get pissed off whenever people say they find BTTF fanfic to be strange! I mean, how could people not want to read about Doc and Marty having more adventures after the trilogy - even if they don't come from an official source? I do admit that I was a little less-than-happy with the way the trilogy ended. One source of a much heated debate is whether or not Doc would move his family back to 1985 (or maybe a few years after).

I'm going to a University in the fall. I already got approved for the Stafford Loan. But they only loan you $4500 if you are a sophomore, which I currently am. That's not even enough. I tried so many other types, but they won't approve unless you have a co-signer or good credit. My parents won't co-sign and I don't have a credit history. I currently don't qualify for any scholarships. I have a job and I own a car. My parents already helped me out with what they could. How do all those students pay for their school? Only a small percentage get scholarships or have co-signers for their loans.
No Roads... - August 10, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
Apply for a MasterCard or other credit card, use it once or twice, pay it off quick. Congratulations, you know have a good credit history. ;)
needles1987 - August 11, 2007 02:03 AM (GMT)
Actually, I applied for a college credit card a couple of days ago, but most private loans require you to have 21 months of good credit.

Now this conversation really pisses me off! I've been trying to do my best to keep my cool, though.
TheAnalyzer: I never looked at that character [Zack Morris] the same after getting dumped. I thought he was supposed to be the COOL kid, kind of like Vinny on Welcome Back Kotter, not someone getting dumped-lol Then after getting dumped Screech rips off his shirt in the hallway in front of everyone when he thought Zack was trying to still his girl. The basically the Zack character started looking like a CLOWN and the cool title went to SLATER.
Me: Well, it's not his fault that he got dumped. His reaction to being dumped was a little over the top, though.
TheAnalyzer: But since his character was supposed to be so cool it just looked stranged to see him in that situation.
Me: Even cool people can get dumped, though.
TheAnalyzer: Well I guess Slater was the COOL GUY on the Show since he was never disrespcted by Screech or dumpe by Jessie
Me: To be totally frank, I find the idea that being dumped somehow makes you less-cool to be very offensive to me. I mean, bad things happen to cool people, too - and when people get dumped, they feel bad enough already. They don't need to hear that they are less-cool, because of the actions of another person.
If there is anything about the event that made Zack less-cool, it was his REACTION to being dumped - not the act of being dumped itself. I'm sure people who have been dumped are already questioning that they may somehow be less-cool, so the last thing they need is to have someone confirm the notion for them. I mean, Zack can't control how Kelly behaves, can he?
Heck, that's maybe even WHY Zack reacted so strongly - because of his fear that people may think of him as being less-cool. Not that that excuses his actions, but I hope you get what I mean.
To me, it just seems so heartless to even suggest that someone is less-cool for being dumped. I mean, sheesh! The poor fellow has had his heart broken already! To me, it just seems cruel to suggest that someone is less-cool after they got dumped! Talk about rubbing salt into the wound - or adding insult to injury! This just pisses me off!
Aaron - August 12, 2007 01:50 PM (GMT)
^ "TheAnalyzer" sounds like someone who respects pimps and man-whores for their coolness! He'll probably learn soon enough that guys like Vinny and the Fonz likely contracted multiple sexual diseases and never accomplished anything significant in their lives.
Anyway, imo, neither Zack or Slater were that cool. But coolness is subjective! lol! And Slater was ALWAYS disrespected by Jesse! lol! Unless you don't consider being called a pig on a daily basis disrespectful!
Now Tori was the cool one! :P
bttf44 - August 12, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
I agree that "coolness" is pretty subjective, and it's all right if not everyone thought that Zack was cool. That wasn't the problem I had with TheAnalyzer. The problem was with his reason for finding Zack to not be cool, or at least as cool as he was. For one thing, "cool people" are disrespected all the time. Not everybody likes someone, just because that person is "cool". That notwithstanding, though, it's really not fair to judge a person's "coolness" by how other people treat them. A person's "coolness" should be judged based on that person's own merits. To be frank, I think it's very cruel and insensitive to insist that a person isn't cool, because certain other people treat that person badly.
Aaron - August 13, 2007 07:25 PM (GMT)
^ Meh, I think those people who are considered "cool" by society are usually the lamest people anyway, more to be pitied than looked up to. So I don't think considering someone "uncool" is saying anything unfavorable of them. But that's just my opinion. I have a very different definition of "cool" than most.
bttf44 - August 13, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
Well, you do have a point - and I even agree with you, to some extent. I've never been considered "cool" myself - and I agree that not being considered "cool" doesn't mean that you're a bad person or whatever. While the "cool" people usually use terms like "nerd" or "geek" in a pajoritive fashion, there are people who do identify themselves as a "nerd" or a "geek" in a positive way - maybe as their way of turning the words into something positive.
I did irk me, though, was the way that TheAnalyzer suggested that he wasn't as attracted to Zack once he was dumped - thus making him less-cool. If you were to ask me my opinions on Marty McFly, I would say that he was cool in a very non-snobbish sort of way. I don't think bullies likes Needles or Biff are usually considered "cool". Now, do I think Alex P Keaton was cool? To be honest, I'd have to say "no" - but I wouldn't exactly describe him as "uncool", either. He was more like an individualist who chose not to follow the crowd - even though I do think he tried a little too hard to rebel against the trends, which is just as bad as trying too hard to follow the trends.
Aaron - August 15, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
^ Being kind, caring, loving, and compassionate are what makes someone cool to me. Marty McFly might not even be considered cool by his peers, but is just considered so by viewing audiences. Of course, getting dumped doesn't make anyone "less cool." That's just silly. But maybe TheAnalyzer has an affinity for playas or something. There's no sense in debating though, really, because people have different value systems. I'd just chalk it up to different world views.
bttf44 - August 15, 2007 07:38 AM (GMT)
In my opinion, I think Marty is fairly popular at school - as he seems to be friendly to everyone. I agree that "coolness" is subjective, though. I can't imagine Marty not being well-liked - as he's just so cute... and friendly! Now Alex P Keaton may not be quite as popular, since he's not really into things that his peers are generally interested in - but I think a lot of girls would still find him to be attractive. The major difference between Marty and Alex is that Marty is pretty obsessed with rock music, while Alex really isn't into rock at all - even though he does seem to have a few guilty pleasures.

Skinny girls scare me. I prefer curvy women.
needles1987 - August 17, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
What really irks me is when some guys would wear shorts and wife beaters when it's really cold out. Do they understand the concept of warm clothing on a cold winter day?

The only thing that really matters is what you think of yourself, Jen. Everyone has different tastes, but just because some people, or let's say the most outspoken of people, don't appreciate your beauty, there are people out there who do, and it's those types you need to find. As long as you are happy with your appearance, then you shouldn't look to conform, but to find someone else who sees you how you see yourself. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and someone who thinks they're just average could be the most beautiful person in the world to some silly cross-eyed bloke. And it can go both ways. I'm quite skinny, which isn't thought too highly of for men, who are supposed to be strong and protective. It is a matter of finding someone who matches you and appreciates you for who you are, and nuts to what the world thinks. If you think you're attractive, then there will be someone else out there who does, and even if you don't think that, I know it's possible for someone who might not be high on their looks to just as easily find someone who finds them to be the most attractive person ever, though they might not agree. So yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it's just a matter of finding someone who appreciates you for who you are, mind, body, and soul. Don't give up, Jen!

Here's something that pisses me off!!
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1724863/postsIt's one thing to disagree with Michael J Fox on embryonic stem cell research, but these people are making personal atacks against this sweet man! And people wonder why I have a less-than-stellar opinion towards the conservative side. I'm sure Alex P Keaton would be deeply ashamed to be associated with these hatemongers!
needles1987 - October 1, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
Today, at school, I had my two least favorite classes. Math and Accounting. Both are extremely difficult. I got a Math test back today and I got a fucking D, the same grade I made on the last one. On the bright side, I haven't made an F yet. In Accounting, I took yet another surprise quiz. I fucking hate those. I got most of them wrong, and I actually got some of those wrong answers right the first time. Shit soup!!!
I'm majoring in Business. I should have majored in something like photography or cooking, but NOOOooooo, they're way too competitive. I still have the rest of the semester to bring my grades up, because if I don't, I won't live to see my college graduation because my mom will kill me. :(
College is so pointless. All it does is suck money from you, so it would make life hell of a lot fucking harder!!
Aaron - October 1, 2007 11:35 PM (GMT)
Well, college did improve my writing ability. But I agree that math and accounting are rather pointless to me! I think I got Cs in the two math courses that I was required to take. Math and history are probably my least favorite subjects. Right now, though, I'm just dealing with English and Sociology, my major and minor respectively.
But since this is a rant topic, I could express how annoyed I was that I had to write about my "personal network" for this Sociology of Communities class. I'm not a social person, and I feel my grade shouldn't be dependent on my social life. Plus, whatever social life I have, is incredibly fucked up right now anyway.

There is this user at the Philosophy and Religion boards at IMDB who claims to be a devoted Christian, but he sure doesn't act very Christlike in his behaviour. He's made too many extremely offensive posts to mention them all, but here is one in particular that especially upsets me:
| QUOTE (Magnificent_JEC) |
| mike fox is as fake as the rest of the hollywood satanists that he hangs with. he does charity to make himself look good and he is worried about death right now. i work to help people everyday without any publicity or hoopla. mike is not a Christian from what i know of him. he has never said so. go shake somewhere else you big baby. |
Okay, I'm going to refute each of these statement one by one - since I told Anakin McFly, who also posts there, that I wouldn't respond to this jerk's posts from now on:
mike fox is as fake as the rest of the hollywood satanists that he hangs with.
No, I don't think so! He did smoke, drink, and party a lot during the '80s - but he was always a very nice, caring, and compassionate person. It's totally unfair to tar everyone in the Hollywood industry with a broad brush. Not all celebrities are like Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan (who actually used to be a decent person in her early days), or Paris Hilton. He never acted like a pompous jerk.
he does charity to make himself look good and he is worried about death right now.
How the hell do you know his motivations are? He's been into charity work long before he's even had Parkinson's disease, and he truly does care about other people. Of course he's worried about death right now! You would be, too, if you were in his situation. You say that like it's some sort of a crime, sheesh!
i work to help people everyday without any publicity or hoopla.
Maybe so, but it's certainly not stopping you for acting so pompous and arrogant towards other people. People who help others out of the goodness of their heart don't act arrogant about it.
mike is not a Christian from what i know of him. he has never said so.
Okay, I don't know if he is or not - even though I do know he believes in God. As far as I'm cvoncerned, though, that's completely irrelevent. I know a lot of people who are not Christians who truly are caring people who wish to make a difference in the world. Thank goodness you are not representative of what most Christians are like, because your attitude only serves to turn others away from that belief!
go shake somewhere else you big baby.
Oh, yes, that's a mighty compassionate Christian attitude to have. Jesus apparently told us to go out and make fun of other people with disabilities who disagee with us. I'll guess I must've somehow missed that part in that Bible.

I just noticed that this youtube user
IDSTARTAREVOLUTION stole the BttF IV logo I made from this video I made:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RrRiuo6RY0Which I'm pretty sure actually ripped the first part from the video I posted, because of the music I dubbed over at just the begining for the opening. Now, I know I'm using BttF clips to make my videos, so maybe people in glass houses souldn't throw stones, but WTF???

Okay, it's usually pretty easy for me to ignore spam - and not get so worked up over it. This is getting ridiculous, though! It seems like we have one of these spammers coming here every other day or so - and it's usually a porn site they post. Granted, I can tolerate spammers much better than I can tolerate flamers and trolls - but enough is enough!
