Title: Ebay Items Of Interest
Madstunts - September 9, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
We don't seem to have an eBay topic. Hmm.
I noticed a few items of interest on eBay. These are all UK auctions, because I'm in the UK.
NONE OF THESE ARE ACTUAL SCREEN-USED PROPS! In case you're wondering.
Here's a guitar exactly like Marty's! The one he played at the battle of the bands, and has next to him on his bed (he sleeps with his guitar? Rock 'n' Roll!).
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1Here's a skateboard just like Marty's...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1I believe that this is quite rare, certainly I've never seen one on eBay before, and I regularly look. Unfortunately, I can't justify the expenditure! :(
If anyone fancies building a replica future Taxicab, here's the correct car...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1It's actually two years out, but the correct model. I didn't realise how rare these were, and how unlikely it is that a taxi firm would use them in the year 2015.
Then there's a video camera just like Doc's

^ You don't have to get a credit card to buy on ebay. You can sign up for paypal (it's free for buyers) and pay by debit card or a lot of buyers take cheques too.

I got sniped! Oh well... that'll serve me right for not checking in near the end of the auction! When I last checked it was still $6 under my maximum bid!
Someday I'll get one of those cameras... someday!
Madstunts - September 11, 2005 09:08 PM (GMT)
^
I always put off bidding to as late as possible. I try to never bid on anything unless there is less than about 3 minutes to go. You're more likely to win, because you don't give the people you've outbid enough time to decide to up their maximum.
Ooooooh, I'm a git!
:)
LonePineKath - September 11, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
^ *Gasp* You're one of them!
Actually, I knew if I waited until near the end, I'd only forget to go and bid! LOL! (And I guess I was right because I did forget to have a look at the end! )
Madstunts - September 11, 2005 10:01 PM (GMT)
^Yeah! It has the added advantage that I frequently forget, and so don't end up buying more junk!
:)

I was thinking about that, back then they must have been as popular and as common as the Citroen Xantia is now.
It's a shame that most film cars were made from very rare vehicles.
Heres a short list of some I can think of:
Ghostbuster's 1959 Cadillac Superior ambulance
Strarsky and Hutch's Ford Gran Torino
BTTF's 2015 Citroen DS Taxi (had to be mentioned)
BTTF's DeLorean time machine (that is rare)
Well, as my mind has gone blank i'll leave it there, I may think of some more later

Ok. When I said about the Cadillac Superior Ambulance being from Ghostbusters, Im affraid thats not true, although that car is still rare its not as rare as the model they did use in the film.
Ghosbusters ECTO 1 and ECTO 1A - Cadillac 1959 Miller-Meteor Ambulance conversion.
These are extremely rare, even so when the film was made. 3 were used in the making of the 2 flms. The old crappy one you see at the begining did in fact look like that and was sold on after its short appearance. Then you have ECTO 1 from the first Ghostbusters film and then when they make a comeback in the second film they have ECTO 1A which is a completely different car, in case you didnt already know.

OK. right now there is a classic DeLorean for sale on ebay for around £10,000. But with a reserve. Car has only done 5,000 miles and has been dry-stored. Shame, if I was in the market I would bid to buy! Maybe when I'm earnig the big bucks i'll be able to buy one.
BTW its got 6days and 21 hours left from the time of this posting.
