No problem! I'm glad I could help :)
I'm very interested to hear that you like Blackadder, Jeffrey! Which was your favourite series?
Yannick - September 8, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)
Dear Jeffrey
What do you think about Monty Python or The Naked Gun?
Yannick
flux capacitor....fluxing - September 8, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)
Ooh! Ooh! Really? Hugh Laurie's awesome. He was on Jay Leno last night.
George McFly II - September 8, 2005 10:39 PM (GMT)
I wish i had seen it, did he share some good stuff?
deloreancrazy - September 8, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
*applauds Kath, always to the rescue :)*
Its no problem we were all ready to wait until you were ready to do the chat. Its an honour for us for you to even take the time to organise the chat, last time we had this was... Bob Gale? Few months after the DVD's came out.
My big question (Sorry about the length)
Would you have liked to have done more with the character if Bob Zemeckis and Gale had written you in a lot more, like how they managed to write in the character of Jennifer despite the different actress?
George McFly II - September 8, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
My friend Michael is one of Jay's writers, and his wife, Judy, and my friends' Chris, Robert, and Sherry are some of the "Jay Leno Show" players.
Yannick - September 8, 2005 10:46 PM (GMT)
I don't want to sound hopeless, but don't you forget my first question?
What do you think about Monty Python or The Naked Gun?
Yannick

I hope I'm doing this quote thing right...
I loved the first year of Blackadder, but the second season was funtastic.
Hugh Laurie's dingbat King on the third season was great fun.
TimeTravelingEchidna - September 8, 2005 10:47 PM (GMT)
You're George McFly!
Based on that line... do you remember me?
flux capacitor....fluxing - September 8, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
Yep, I thought it was a good interview. Really funny, but Jay kept picking on his English accent and English stuff. A little too much, I thought. Was cool. I taped it.

Yannick |
There's very little to rival the absurdist fun of Monty Python.
From the early series through the movies to the later days stage shows they remain kings of sidesplitting comedy.
I can watch the films every year and find myself laughing again & again.
The Naked Gun movies don't do it for me as much, but they have their moments...I loved the film that started the genre in America, "Airplane"
I did a cameo in a film with Leslie Neilson called "2001 A Space Travesty" which was just terrible, but it still had an audience and a few scattered moments of inspired silliness.

I play Groucho in the theater scene going boogey boogey boogey. Terrible close up, it should have been a medium or long shot.
oh well.

Yes, 2001 was terrible. But you're right, I had to laugh a few times.
A little question on you're BTTF history. What do you think Crispen would do, if he would ran into you? Would he be mad?

That's a great question.
George had a few more lines in the future, and in the past Crispin was supposed to play Seamus.
I would have played it, but I don't look like Crispen, nor would the audience liked a new comer in such an important role in the McFly family...at least that's what I suspect Bob & Bob & Neil thought...so they put MJF in the role...it made soem sense, but it was weird to see him now married to Lorraine/Lea. (He was affraid of kissing her in the first film, after all).
I had been sort of left out of the loop in the readings and rehearsals before getting on set, and that was to bad. I would have loved to have had more to do, but then again, I think they wanted me to be a secret, since they had advertised on ET! that all of the original cast memebers were returning to reprise their roles.
I did do a banana bit ("Fruit Please!) that was cut, and i got to rotate my axis for dinner, which is on the DVD deleted scenes.

Sadly those scenes are not on our R2 discs - it's very unfair, isn't it.
I have to go to bed now, as it's after midnight here in England, but thank you, Jeffrey :) I have really enjoyed this!

A little question on you're BTTF history. What do you think Crispen would do, if he would ran into you? Would he be mad? |
I was a fan of Cripen's work from when we worked on a film at AFI in '83...then when I saw his work on BttF, I was very proud that i sort of knew him...he never returns calls...
Anyway, when I was up for being his "photo double" I called and left a message asking him to help me get the work, since I was paying for the birth of my second kid. He never called, until he was ready to sue over using his footage from the first film, and using his likeness on me to recreate the pt 1 scenes needed for pt. 2 at different angles.
He gave me sob stories about how he was misstreated on the first film, and suckered me into giving him information, that his attourney made public in the deposition, which ultimatly helped him settle out of court for 760,000.00. Crispen never spoked to me again. (Except one call where I did my Crispen impression on his phone machine, and he thought I was another friend of his, he picked up laughing, and I asked him why he hadn't offered to buy me dinnerafter settling his case).
I found out a while later that Universal had me blacklisted, and my life turned upside down for several years.
To answer your question, I think he'd act friendly, if he knew who I was and I think I would be the one that'd be mad.

Well, I have to go in a not to long time. It's here in Holland 1.10 AM and I'm 14 years old, so I think you get my point. My last question:
I just finished a screenplay for a parody of James Bond, called James Katoen. I gave it to Buena Vista Entertainment here in Holland and they have send the script to a producer. I wanted to play 2 characters: James and Dr. Yes (Dr. Ja as we call it here). But do you know if it's gonna cost me any money and how much, and what the changes are that I acheev the dream I have for 12 years.
Goodnight everyone, goodnight Jeffrey ;). Bye.

I hope that you have registered your idea before sending or giving it to anyone.
The writers guild here in America is where you register script ideas, etc.
I don't know about in Holland, but hopefully you've taken care of it, or the folk you gave it to are nice and won't take it from you and makeit theirs..
If you want to play the roles, you should know how to act in front of a camera...practice in front of a mirror, and do student work if you can't get professional work...teach yourself how to adjust your acting to the medium.
goodnight Holland,
