Title: Reason Behind Your Signature Thread...
deloreancrazy - August 23, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
We've got a reason behind your screen name, and I was just wondering if there was ever a thread behind the reason of what you have in your signatures...
Feel free to discuss!

Because I built this PC. Watched several movies and change the sig quotes randomly.
LonePineKath - August 24, 2005 08:28 PM (GMT)
I change mine when I remember, every now and then.
Usually there will be something Hitch Hiker, Huey Lewis or Tom Petty there. At the moment it's The Raven. I've never had so many pm's in one day as I did when I changed over to The Raven, so I'm keeping this one a while. Seems like nearly everyone loves this poem as much as I do! I never realised how popular it was! I've loved it for years and years - my Mum used to read it me as a bedtime story! :)
Maybe I'll work my way through the verses or something. That might be quite fun...
deloreancrazy - August 28, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
It is a great poem, I've never heard it fully but its very cool to hear.
My signature are just a collection of random things that I find funny, I have a fairly odd sense of humour.
I love South Park and Eric Cartman's deep psychological hate of Hippies "They say they want to save the world but all they do is smoke pot and smell..." I don't know why but it always cracks me up to hear those kind of comments.
Only saw Dark City the other day, I think its a very good film despite being overlooked by many and considered a rip off of the Matrix by others (despite coming first and filming many scenes that were actually copied in the Matrix). The whole idea of a place that only ever exists within nighttime is quite creepy and I love that quote where Murdoch is asking the cop whether he ever remembers seeing daylight.
Its kinda weird that I noticed that extract from the Raven, I was watching the Crow earlier that day and I loved that hearing that quote. Its perfect in fitting with the dark marcarbe of the film and Eric Draven's situation. Its a great example of a wicked sense of humour.

I liked that Douglas Adams 'foolproof' quote you had recently in your sig, deloreancrazy  That was funny!

"The Answer to All: 42!" is an obvious reference to
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
The

refers to when I started using Game Maker, and that I have registered copy of Game Maker. On the official
GM Community the "GM user since...", which was created by a member called Muzzle, is a very common image to see in the members' signatures.
I later added the "Registered" part to fit my signature, as we're only allowed to have three images in our signatures on the
GM Community.
I use the

button as a graphical link to my website. I originally created it to fit a sign, which was going to be used in a GM Game, however it was never released.
In the background you can see my BTTF'ish arrow, which I also use as my avatar from time to time.

: My advert button for my latest game, Jetpack Doc. The "150+ Downloads!" refers to the fact, that Jetpack Doc (or JPD as I call it) have been downloaded over 150 times since its release.

Sig Meanings:
Gotta Love The Doc is taken from my BTTF.com signature (or at least one version of it)
Check out the crazy adventures of SimDoc: revison_doc's LJ is a link to my Sims-related LiveJournal,
Revison_Doc. I'm basically growing up a version of Doc in a neighborhood called Twin Oaks Park,
very roughly based on Hill Valley. Currently he's a Mad Scientist who's living with his best friend Holly Handlen and starting a relationship with one Jill Wooster.
I'm Anything But Ordinary is a line from the song "Ordinary" by Train. I heard it on the
Spider-Man 2 soundtrack and fell in love with it. :happydoc:

Blind Spot - September 15, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
^ I love it - and not just 'cause I've been quoted (though I won't put up too much of a complaint either!). :D
Aaron - September 15, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
^ Thanks, Spotty! I also added another line. Because apperently Future Fans have no interest in BttF-themed Music Videos.
LonePineKath - September 20, 2005 09:03 PM (GMT)
My new one (Brand New Member of the 1,000 posts club) is a nod to a joke Weather Experiment (I think) started over at bttf.com when he hit 1,000 posts over there.
This is a pretty exclusive club atm (there's only three of us in it atm) but I know it won't stay that way for long around here :)
As people who know me can testify, I'm not normally a person bothered about post counts but when I realised I had got 1,001 posts tonight I just had to mark to occassion! After all, it doesn't happen every day! :)

Well done :D

It's a picture of my bird. Her name's Cassey and she loves to bite teenage boys and laugh at them
But she loves women! :D
"HI!!"

flux capacitor....fluxing - December 17, 2005 06:59 PM (GMT)
I added a Hitchhiker's quote. Because I like it. :D
Frasier Crane - December 21, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
My new signature combines 2 quotes from the trilogy that I think make a very good Christmas signature - "The birth of Christ! Let the festivites begin!". :)
LonePineKath - February 11, 2006 09:30 PM (GMT)
10 points for the first person who can tell us who says the quote in my sig? Extra points if you can get the episode too!
Shandy - February 11, 2006 10:09 PM (GMT)
^ Steven! But I'm afraid I don't know the ep
LonePineKath - April 20, 2006 09:26 PM (GMT)
Yesterday I noticed I was only 7 posts away from 2,000 posts and so I changed my sig today to honour the fact that I just arrived!
Have I really been here a couple of years... Man, I need to get a life!!
(Honestly, I'm not always on the computer.. really! - I do have about 30 friends coming to my birthday party next month, honest!!)
Alternate Strickland - April 20, 2006 10:29 PM (GMT)

No Roads... - June 10, 2006 03:01 PM (GMT)
Well Shandy.... you like roller coasters? Next time your in the states, go to Silverwood Theme Park; Its a very cool vacation attraction.

Shandy - June 10, 2006 03:31 PM (GMT)
^ I'm in the States right now. But Idaho seems far away.
We are planning on going to Cedar Point :88: Have you heard of that, No Roads?
flux capacitor....fluxing - June 10, 2006 07:59 PM (GMT)
^ Lucky you. I haven't gotten to go yet this year. You gotta go on the Millennium and the Gemini, Shandy. And that new swing thing they built last year. Don't go on the Top Thrill Dragster unless the line's really short; I thought it was too long of a wait for too short of a ride.
This is totally off topic.
My sig is Flansburgh and Linnell standing at some movie theater somewhere in front of ads for their documentary Gigantic. Good movie. Made it because I discovered a picture editing program on the computer the other day that I didn't know I had.
No Roads... - June 11, 2006 04:51 AM (GMT)
Nope nvr heard of it shand. Please inform, i love amusement parks!
Shandy - June 11, 2006 12:24 PM (GMT)
http://www.cedarpoint.com/It's located in Sandusky, Ohio. Right next to a huge lake.
Check out the site, I've been there 3 times.
And thanks for the good advice Fluxing, I'll certianly avoid the Dragster's far queue.
flux capacitor....fluxing - June 12, 2006 06:12 PM (GMT)
Well, the Dragster's fun, just too short. I think it's the tallest coaster in the world right now.
CP's like forty minutes from my house.
No Roads... - June 12, 2006 06:34 PM (GMT)
HOLY CRAP!
I was just reading up on the top thrill dragster thing... 120MPH (193KmpH) in 4 seconds!?!?!?!
That is crazy awesome!
Madstunts - June 12, 2006 08:32 PM (GMT)
Theme Park Insider is a good resource for ..erm.. theme parks.

flux capacitor....fluxing - June 13, 2006 06:11 PM (GMT)
Haha, Trev. It is fast. Ya gotta keep your head back when it starts, or else, whiplash, probably.
It uses LIM, I think, Linear Induction Motors, which are magnet things that repel and attract the magnetic plates on the traiin. Is really fun. But only like 15 seconds long.
I used to know a bunch of stuff like that about the roller coasters at Cedar Point. How high they were and stuff.
Shandy - June 15, 2006 11:21 AM (GMT)
^ Speaking of which . . . . . I'm about to leave now for Cedar Point :D
Bye!! :88:
flux capacitor....fluxing - June 15, 2006 06:06 PM (GMT)
Ooh. I envy you. I could have gone to Cedar Point on Tuesday with my church's youth group, but I didn't sign up in time. Lucky. You must tell us about your day, Shandy.
LonePineKath - June 25, 2006 06:50 PM (GMT)
My new sig is more Butlins stuff! and the "Kath Loves It" bit is because one of the Butlins slogans is; "Kids Love It" (so my sig on Butlins Memories is simply; "Kaths Love It!" ). This one is a bit too big though so I will only keep it about a week, I think.
